As stated, they have the right to buy it for themselves. Public school being a provider for all sorts of cultures, liberal, conservative, athiest, religious must all be accommodated. In other words the state has no right to go there even if it thinks it would be good for canadians. It is not milticulturalism.

I always thought it had to do with creating an incentive for people to have families. In other words, to make babies and raise them in a family. You can't make babies if everyone is gay, for example. So the reality or normal way people are made and raised is the family, and by changing the definition of marriage it loses that specific social focus. The emphasis or direction of society goes elsewhere. Of course, as a legal argument gay marriage is every bit as valid as "normal" marriage.

lmao. What they are, is mutable. By that I mean they follow their leadership, right over a cliff if that's where it takes them. They being leftists who's overall view of the system is authoritarian government setting the rules "for all". They want equality but are hypocrites who bring about no result, or a negative result. I'm of the opinion that China has hijacked these dumb-ass fcks to undermine Canadian culture by pressing their hot-buttons, and it works as these liberal dumb-ass fcks are not too bright. Remember they even wanted to bring "Defund the Cops" to Canada.

Yes you are right Zeitgeist, but "that ship has sailed". Gay marriage was introduced about twenty years ago. Time flies when you're in a a progressive nation, and eventually you reap what you sow. What you have written there, what you are extolling as virtue, is everything the Christian church teaches about how people should live. Just sayin, is all.

Should the International Community Intervene in Haiti?
OftenWrong replied to a topic in The Rest of the World
Point is we take Canada for granted. There's a lot of places in the world that could be called "shithole countries"... and Haiti is one of them. They showed the footage after that terrible earthquake years ago. Everything was in ruins... destroyed buildings, garbage everywhere, raw sewage flowing in the streets. Then they showed footage of Haiti the year before... and it wasn't that different. The quake only made it a little worse. Then they were collecting charity money everywhere for Haiti. Even at the grocery store. It was probably the first time we saw that. Please drop an anonymous two bucks in our charity bucket. Then there was a new term came out, the charity industry. You get the piture? As in Charity- Industrial complex. They collected a ton of money and sent millions worth of supplies to Haiti. Everyone thought that was pretty good but then we never heard about it until later, that there was simply no way to get the supplies out of the airport and through the country. The roads were totally wrecked and impassable. No trucks could get through. They didn't bother to mention that the roads were already like that before the quake... -

Was in Dominican once. They had men walking around with rifles... -
Try that in a small town
OftenWrong replied to reason10's topic in State Politics in the United States
Crime "rate" is often skewed for small towns by the fact total numbers are low. Out here in eastern ON we had a year when there was a multiple murder. Four people murdered in a year, making the murder "rate" 4/100k, making it the top murder rate that year. Statistics... -
If you expect a pro-conservative rant you'll be disappointed. Am a liberal now. Always was, really. No matter what side of the spectrum you are on as a Canadian, you are one. Some have switched to calling themselves conservative, but we know that's a lie. As the last Canadian liberal I am a man without a party, but at least am consistent while the rest of you illiberals have moved on.

I'm seeing more and more "ordinary Canadians" showing their outrage over Trudeau and his leadership. No one out here in Eastern ON likes him anymore. As we saw the other day in Belleville. He made his stop in Kingston first. No one even knew he was coming, otherwise would have seen the same welcome wagon there as well. I think Canadians want him out and he knows it. People are disgusted by this guy, and willing to vocalize it at least in small towns. But in big cities where there's big industry and corporations rule, everyone has to be on board with their corporate branding. Whatever they say must be followed.

Pierre Poilievre, “man of the people “ LOL
OftenWrong replied to BeaverFever's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
All he needs to do to make a post-national state, is wreck the country. -
-Never mind the bollocks. Where is Trudeau's promised Tree Planting program? Canada has only planted 29 million of the 2 billion trees promised by 2030 "Spread out over the 10-year commitment, the government would need to plant an additional 200 million trees a year beyond current tallies. That’s nearly 548,000 trees a day, however, tree planting is a seasonal effort and can’t be done year-round, instead taking place during four to five months of the year." More empty promises and posturing from this liberal government. Trudeau the emperor fiddles while Canada burns.

Indeed, one can envision her laughing all the way to global thermonuclear war ... and you people applauding it. (not you, TSS).

Canada & a New Structure of World Peace
OftenWrong replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Yep, each of us shows what we're made of, when we get behind an anonymous online account. Same as when people get in their cars, some of them become vicious animals. But in reality you people are the worst of cowards, in a face-to-face situation. Those who strut like peacocks and boasting of their power are often the most afeared that others might find out how powerless they truly are. Especially when a real man finally walks into the picture Because that makes their fear and self-loathing really come out. Being a real Canadian means showing bravery in the face of one's emotionally irrational adversary. Canada is the defender of rational society. -

There was no fight really, just one alcoholic having a bad time, and one clean - cut, honest Canadian who stays true and consistent to his values, defending those which he cares about, standing on guard, resolute and calm in the face of adversity. See title of thread.
