  1. No, noncompetitive is when there is only one team that dominates. Also, the groups have been reorganized to make it more competitive. Group A has Canada, USA, Finland and OAR. Those are very competitive teams. In men's hockey there will be no NHL players, again levelling the playing field.
  2. Noncompetitive? Clearly you haven't seen Team Canada vs Team USA.
  3. I have ordered some parts from US vendors in the last month, and noticed a couple of them arrived with "Made in the USA" stickers on them. One came with "Made with PRIDE in the USA". Haven't seen those in a long time.
  4. The same Cuomo who condemned Trump's tax plan and said that the president 'Never Really Understood What Made America Great in the First Place' ?
  5. It is interesting that you think the Dems memo is "less misleading" without ever having read it. Or should I say, it is rather ridiculous. As already discussed in my post of Feb 10 2018, Donald Trump submitted the memo for review to the US Deputy Attorney and also the Director of the FBI, who co-wrote a letter explaining the technical problems with the memo. Mr.Trump then assured the US public that the Dem`s memo will be released once these problems are solved.
  6. You were not paraphrasing, you were totally mistaken. Perhaps you were just "telling a bad joke".
  7. No he did not say that. Here is the tweet- The Democrats sent a very political and long response memo which they knew, because of sources and methods (and more), would have to be heavily redacted, whereupon they would blame the White House for lack of transparency. Told them to re-do and send back in proper form!
  8. Can't believe that CNN and other mainstream media would post such supportive articles about Kim Jong Un's sister at the Olympics. They have no problem picking apart political people from their own country, but seem to approve of her. Meanwhile the regime starves and murders its own people, and KJU had a few of his own family members killed, not to mention threats to attack the USA with nuclear weapons. Are you kidding me? (CNN) If "diplomatic dance" were an event at the Winter Olympics, Kim Jong Un's younger sister would be favored to win gold. With a smile, a handshake and a warm message in South Korea's presidential guest book, Kim Yo Jong has struck a chord with the public just one day into the PyeongChang Games. Seen by some as her brother's answer to American first daughter Ivanka Trump, Kim, 30, is not only a powerful member of Kim Jong Un's kitchen cabinet but also a foil to the perception of North Korea as antiquated and militaristic. Experts say her visit for the Winter Games is calculated to answer the expected presence of Ivanka Trump at the closing ceremonies. "Kim Yo Jong is the perfect counterpart to this," Hwang said. "And it also is a signal that North Korea is not this crazy, weird former Cold War state -- but it too has young women that are capable and are the future leadership." "I felt a little strange to see North Koreans so close," he said. "But when they chanted, 'Him Nae Ra,' which means 'cheer up,' I realized that they are not strangers. We are the same people using the same language and supporting the same team." CNN's Taehoon Lee, Paula Hancocks, Bill Galvin and Bijan Hosseini contributed to this report. Kim Jong Un's sister is stealing the show at the Winter Olympics
  9. I beg to differ. The women's hockey team today showed this outstanding skill, and this tournament has just started. Not having NHL'ers will also make it more interesting.
  10. "Kumbaya, my lord... kumbaya..."
  11. Not anymore.
  12. Interesting point of view. This makes me think, Mr. Trudeau could be the same kind of leader as Mr. Trump, just on the opposite side of the political spectrum. He has the same style, appeal to emotionalism. His personal background is similar too... born into wealth, fame, guaranteed success, with no prior experience in politics. No prior experience in working at all, really. Although Trump does have more as a businessman. Or is that Businesskind. But now I think there really is something to this. When I saw the video of Trudeau confronting that woman at the town hall over her use of the word "mankind", I immediately felt he was bullying her. Not just because of the word, but because of what she was saying about her religious belief. She was a Christian, I think, and asked him to participate with her group, and he pretty much just blew her off like she was a nut. Had she been wearing a Hijab, he probably would have been much nicer.
  13. Yep. "Not in My Canada..."
  14. In the beginning laws will be much more restrictive. The number of plants, or the ability to share them with others will be tightly controlled. There is still concern about edibles and concentrates, and hash. In time things will ease up some more, once sphincters have relaxed.
  15. Doug was the sober Bud Abbott to Rob's never-ending Costello. So he might get a pass over the shenanigans of those days in the public opinion. Also the new politics of today seems more fascinated with a cult of personality, than actual substance. Interesting times...
  16. He's better off moving himself and his family out of there now, anyway.
  17. Ok, I can accept this criticism. However in regard to Trudeau and this case, it involves a murder and is a Canadian issue. Trump issues are more at arms length, doesn't really matter much, and no one's been murdered (yet...)
  18. No, but he might have committed manslaughter which I think is 15 years. I don't know the particulars of the case which might include extenuating circumstances. One can kill in self defence, for example, and I read that the guy in the car drove aggressively towards Stanley, swerved his vehicle at him but blew out a tire in a culvert. If that's true, I think it would change the sentence.
  19. I am free to express my opinions here in the forum. Why are you attacking me?
  20. It's a good point... if this is the whole memo, what was it the FBI was concerned about?
  21. Article says they're mainly part-time jobs, so it's pretty obvious who was affected and why. These people went from working at a low minimum wage to being unemployed, thanks to Wynne.
  22. Yeah I noticed that one. Starts with "Millions of Americans are asking..." Amazing how he knows what "millions" are asking. This is classic psychological propaganda.
  23. You and Omni are here to have a good laugh.
  24. Many are. It's a fact of life. During the Stanley trial, and leading up to it, many people made extremely racist comments on social media, particularly in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Example: “His only mistake was leaving witnesses,” wrote one rural municipality councillor, who later resigned over the post.
  25. So far, Doug Ford is doing remarkably well. Ford is putting out the right message, with clarity, of what his leadership is all about. I'm surprised because I thought he was a goon, but the guy has the message, and the charisma, to go all the way. You don’t have to wait until March 10 to find out who won the Progressive Conservative leadership race. We already have a victor. Never mind if Caroline Mulroney or Christine Elliott triuphs in the end. No matter who takes over, it’s now Doug Ford’s party. Win or lose, he’s not just setting the agenda. He’s undoing it. Link
