  1. When I see decent people treated this way, and when it tracks with many other stories I’ve heard recently about how harsh and insensitive the US has been towards foreigners and even some of its own citizens, I can’t help wondering if the US really has declined, and I’m saying this as a conservative and long-time visitor to the US. Maybe places like Panama or Costa Rica are where I should be retiring and it’s time to sell the place in Florida. https://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/article/canadian-detained-at-alligator-alcatraz-for-owing-us12000-in-back-taxes/

  2. How many more years.... At least until November 2029. And again, I did not support them for the past 11 years. How many more chances... this one for sure. How about you... obviously been a down decade for you with at least another 4 years to go. 15 years of getting worked up and bîtching all day isn't good for your health though. Maybe join a gym and burn off that pent up anger so your mind can function better than it is. Just a thought...

  7. I agree to an extent. It's the ones who had and kept a tight friendship with Epstein, even after he was convicted of procuring minors for the purposes of prostitution that make me wonder. That would end a friendship for me. But I'm a "loon", apparently. 🤣

  8. Give him credit... He had a lot more going on than just starting a new party. He was busy impersonating a police officer, allegedly, and was actually convicted of something: Patron has been convicted of other offences, including wilfully promoting hate in 2022, after he called for the genocide of Jewish people in a video posted on the party's website and social media accounts. Why would you waste bandwidth with a post that leaves the casual Observer to think he's being persecuted for starting a new party? There are lots of other things to post about.

  9. It will cost 30 million dollars and 3 years to open a 9000 square foot grocery store on land the city owns in an area where there are a ton of other grocery stores. Large grocery stores cost 10 million to build. I have seen them build a giant Walmart from the ground up in 6 months. This is government bloat in action. https://nypost.com/2026/04/14/us-news/zohran-mamdanis-city-owned-grocery-stores-will-only-guarantee-lower-prices-for-a-core-basket-of-goods/

  10. Based on Pewresearch, less than 50% of Canadians has a positive view of America.... if that's so why hasn't Canada severed its ties with America yet? "Oh I hate you and I've got a lot of complaints about you but I might need you so I'll stick with you." Doesn't that make Canadians hypocrites? I don't understand, can somebody please make me understand....

  15. Every article based on any objective measures will point to American trade policy/tariffs being the main reason for the downturn in Canada’s economy. It’s going to be painful for years to come. To claim otherwise is delusional. As if we can tweak some red tape and Canada will be back on the economic track that it had been. Pure rightwing fantasy.

  18. Canada's Global Standing: Prosperous, Progressive, and Peaceful Canada's global standing is characterized by its prosperous, progressive, and peaceful status. The country is recognized for its high standard of living, strong economy, and political stability. Canada ranks high in social, legal, healthcare, and education systems, with universities among the best in the world. Despite these accolades, Canada faces challenges such as housing affordability, technology affordability, healthcare accessibility, and foreign direct investment. However, these concerns are overshadowed by Canada's overall positive performance across various indices, including human rights, quality of life, safety, happiness, prosperity, and sustainability.

  24. Here you go - Incident report lacks info: ecologist Timoney, the ecologist, said the AER incident report is lacking information, which is common. “You’re left guessing,” he said. For example, there’s no information on the length of the spill, nor the environment where the spill happened, whether it was a forest, wetland or waterbody. Timoney noted that some ecosystems are more sensitive to spills than others. There’s also little breakdown on what was in the spill, such as the concentration of bitumen or saltwater, he said. This particular spill included saltwater, which Timoney said is often “far more toxic than the oil or bitumen." Oil and bitumen can break down, but salt lasts forever, he said. “These saline spills are extremely serious." The AER spokesperson said any non-compliance penalties, if warranted, will be posted publicly on the agency's compliance dashboard. No, your link from 2008 doesn't interest or bother me at all. It's not an argument that wind turbines are one of the cleanest and most cost-effective ways we have of producing electricity. It's also not an argument that they play a key role in reducing carbon emissions. But back to your link from 8 years ago... surprisingly things have changed since then and ~90% of the turbine is recyclable and added into cement or repurposed for infrastructure materials for bridges, playgrounds, etc. The blades are still a challenge for landfills but that will be figured out at some point. Carbon emissions won't. You also don't pay a lot of attention... I care very much about the environment and what it will look like long after I'm gone. Not sure if I've talked about wind turbines as a specific subject, but am all in for transitioning our grid to clean and renewable energy, like China has been doing. You keep referring to the MSM.... Do you have any idea of how foolish you come across with the posts from your equally mindless X friends?

  29. Psychiatric Morbidity Among Adolescents and Young Adults Who Contacted Specialised Gender Identity Services in Finland in 1996–2019: A Register Study Gender-referred adolescents showed significantly higher psychiatric morbidity than controls both before (45.7% vs. 15.0%) and ≥ 2 years after referral (61.7% vs. 14.6%). Those referred after 2010 had greater psychiatric needs than earlier cohorts, both before (47.9% vs. 15.3%) and ≥ 2 years after (61.3% vs. 14.2%) referral. Among adolescents who underwent medical gender reassignment, psychiatric morbidity increased markedly during follow-up—rising from 9.8% to 60.7% in feminising gender reassignment and from 21.6% to 54.5% in masculinising gender reassignment. After adjusting for prior psychiatric treatment, all gender-referred adolescents had similarly elevated risks of psychiatric morbidity, with hazard ratios approximately three times higher than female controls and five times higher than male controls. ********** This study reinforces what I have always said. Trans people have a mental health issue, that is why their suicide rate is so high before surgery. This also shows that the left's, feel-good, let-them-do-what-they want approach is devastatingly bad. Six in ten committing suicide is far beyond unacceptable. The one in ten suicide rate is way beyond acceptable. Can we finally start dealing with this issue the way it needs to be dealt with?

  35. As soon as Trump’s hatred of Canada became obvious PP should have played the long game, outdoing the PM in patriotic fervour and going after our common enemy. Instead he and his advisers just drove through the crisis on autopilot as if the game hadn’t changed, with predictable results. What he did doesn't distress me as I’m not a fan. I just think it was stupid.

  37. Goddamn, man. Stop lying for a second and have a smidgen of decency. This is from YOUR OWN OP: “I do not have direct knowledge of private comments or communications by the President,” the alleged whistleblower, who claimed Trump improperly tried to pressure Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to investigate Hunter Biden, admitted in his initial August 2019 intake form. Do you not read the shit you post? Or do you think other people won't bother? -- You're apparently right on the latter, because we're a dozen posts in of just your buddies spanking it without anyone calling you on your bullshit. Again, complete bullshit. 1. The law, passed in 1998 specifically allows for second hand information. 2. The "original" form also specifically allowed whistleblowers to specify how they had received the information. Note the second option: “I have personal and/or direct knowledge of events or records involved”; “Other employees have told me about events or records involved”; or “Other source(s) (please explain).” 3. The "they" you think are in on this nonexistent conspiracy is the Trump administration. As usual, you are just parroting the crap politicians say to Fox hosts. Not a bit of these accusations are new or revelatory, and most of them are pure fiction. No basis in fact whatsoever. He absolutely farking did, you cultist. It's not even a question. The almost-transcript was bad enough, validating everything in the whistleblower complaint and the testimony from Trump's own people was utterly and unequivocally damning. Read the congressional record. Gordon Sondland (Trump's EU ambassador): "I know that members of this committee have frequently framed these complicated issues in the form of a simple question: Was there a 'quid pro quo?' As I testified previously, with regard to the requested White House call and White House meeting, the answer is yes." "I told Mr. Yermak that I believed that the resumption of U.S. aid would likely not occur until Ukraine took some kind of action on the public statement that we had been discussing for many weeks" (<-- he explicitly told Ukraine the conditions of the quid-pro-quo!) (and everybody knew about it.) "In the absence of any credible explanation for the suspension of aid, I later came to believe that the resumption of security aid would not occur until there was a public statement from Ukraine committing to the investigations of the 2016 elections and Burisma, as Mr. Giuliani had demanded. I shared concerns of the potential quid pro quo regarding the security aid with Senator Ron Johnson, and I also shared my concerns with the Ukrainians. Finally, at all times I was acting in good faith -- I was acting in good faith. As a Presidential appointee, I followed the directions of the President. We worked with Mr. Giuliani because the President directed us to do so." William Taylor (the top diplomat in Ukraine): "I think it's crazy to withhold security assistance for help with a political campaign." Context: Ambassador Taylor also described a comment that you (Sondland) made where you were trying to explain what President Trump's view of this was. And you said that President Trump is a businessman, when a businessman is about to sign a check to someone who owes him something, the businessman asks the person to pay up before signing the check. (Pay up = publicly announcing an investigation.) Although, really, I don't know why I bother. If you're not reading the articles you post, you damn sure aren't going to read the congressional record. -- Google any of that however you like. Facts are facts. Trump was withholding military aid to extract campaign favors from Ukraine. Everybody knew it. The case was overwhelming. The ONLY reason Trump wasn't convicted is because Senate Republicans utterly failed in their responsibility to the American people, choosing partisan protection instead of doing their damn job.

  38. Sorry to throw cold water on your circle jerk, but what's got you all hot and bothered is half false and half bullshit. Literally, the original whistleblower complaint clearly stated that it was second hand information. This is not secret or new news. And whistleblower protection has always included hearsay. There was no secret rule change. -- And, by the way, this is also the standard anywhere in corporate America. And internal communications evaluating and debating the quality of the complaint are not nefarious. Rather, it's an example of the process working exactly as it should. And none of it changes the fact that Trump tried to trade weapons and aid for campaign aid from a foreign official. As always, Trump selling out America and Americans for his own personal gain.

Kanada to the US is the intercept area ......... with the dome or without it. Let them waste their tax-payer dollars - to build any Kanadian aegis - it benefits the US strategically, financially. oh, Kanada. China is nutz to butz with the US, despite the rhetoric, Europe should have no concerns with Russia. The US is the power running scared and with Trump in control the US has legitimate concerns. Trump is a coward, no negotiation skills - x10 his head shop - he is a global concern but more importantly a domestic concern ......... his legacy will make the US far less of a global power.

I make points and if you choose to think that it is left, right or in between, that is your take. The problem with this forum is that it has become either left or right and decent discussions cannot seem to be had. Everyone can have different views, that does not male them left or right...just different but some here find it has to be one political degree or another and it is not. Thing is, so many of folks like you whine about getting down arrows ..so..you get comments in recourse. Oh and as if army guy, who gave me 25 down arrows since Saturday is innocent LOL You want contribution and discussion,....then make posts that are worth it.
