  4. Yep confirmed That’s billion with B, not billion trees, billion dollars Ottawa spending $1.4-billion to ramp up domestic ammunition production capacity Ottawa is spending $1.4-billion to bolster Canada’s domestic ammunition production capacity through the establishment of new facilities to manufacture supplies such as artillery shells and nitrocellulose, a compound used in a range of military munitions. Defence Minister David McGuinty said the funds will be divided between two companies: IMT Precision, based in Ingersoll, Ont., and General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems – Canada in Repentigny, Que., a subsidiary of the U.S. defence company. Both companies are part of Canada’s Munitions Supply Program, which was created in the 1970s and protects producers from competition. The federal government is making the investment under itsnew Canadian Defence Industry Resilience program, which it announced in February as part of its $6.6-billion Defence Industrial Strategy. The funding announced Wednesday is included in that total. … Ottawa will give General Dynamics up to $642-million to build a new manufacturing facility dedicated to loading, assembling and packing NATO-standard 155-millimetre high-explosive projectiles, such as those used in howitzers. It will also provide up to $57.9-million to establish Canada’s first facility capable of loading, assembling and packing M231/232 charges, a type of propelling charges also used in 155mm artillery. By 2028, General Dynamics’ facilities should be able to process 12,744 projectiles annually. By 2029, the goal is to scale up to 12,000 a month. In Ingersoll, IMT Precision will receive a $305.4-million direct investment, also per a contribution agreement with Ottawa, to manufacture the empty metal shells used in 155-millimetre artillery. The new facility will be ready for production in roughly 2½ years, and reach full capacity in four years. Once complete, it will be capable of producing 144,000 M795 shells a year. The facility for domestic supply will add to the company’s existing production lines for the U.S. Army. In October, 2024, the U.S. Army hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the company’s Ingersoll facility, celebrating its anticipated production of 15,000 shell bodies a month. The new Canadian facility is expected to create at least 75 full-time jobs, with the possibility of employment reaching 400 at full production. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/business/economy/article-ottawa-spending-14-billion-domestic-ammunition-production-capacity/

  6. How about the thousands of bombs that are being dropped by Israel and USA daily? Why not speak about this environmental impact? And the complete destruction that will require so much fossil fuel to clean up and rebuild? Who brought this on? It definitely was not Iran. As I said, your brain is fried and you are attempting to defend the indefensible. The war is ILLEGAL and the whole world told you so - every single country in the world PLUS ME! You still don't believe it? What was done to Venezuela was ILLEGAL too. Greenland? ILLEGAL. Annexing Canada? Maybe this you will find perfectly legal? The war was started by a: - pedophile - convict - liar - corrupt and unethical dumbass - a greedy , basic / primitive creature - one with zero accountability or restraints - a shameless piece of trash I'm looking at Melania and her awkward attempts to pronounce words in English and I'm thinking, Donny bought this one like a horse. Good ass; good teeth, good legs, Can you say Oh, Ah, Oh, Ah ? OK, I take her! How much? What did we come to? The ultimate stinky garbage come to the top!

  9. I hadn't had a cat around since my kids were little until a year ago. I had always considered myself a dog person. But early last summer, I was driving to Canadian Tire and saw 2 kids swinging something around by a rope. Took me a minute to realize it was a little gray kitten. I drove around the block and came up behind them and jumped out of the car. "What the hell are you doing??Where's your mom??" I confiscated the cat, it was panting and screaming. I always carry a pocketknife, so I cut the rope off and drove it home. Then I realized, "Oh, sh!t. Now what do I do?" I didn't know what to call her at first and she was very hissy with me at the start "Aren't you a hissy little missy?" Anyways, I got her spayed and figured I was now into her for $250 so......now I have a cat named Missy. She has Scarlet O'Hara syndrome with food - "As God is my witness, I shall never go hungry again!" and eats me out of house & home and now I think maybe I am a cat person, too.

  11. There is no debate that immigration levels after the pandemic added to the challenge. Just one of the reasons immigration is being scaled back. We already have a national testing standard that is managed federally and was addressed last year with the express entry to better fast track applicants. Canadian healthcare is not the sole responsibility of the Federal government who is charged with funding and standards, but each Province or Territory is responsible for delivering those healthcare services and regulating doctors and nurses.... with some provinces managing it better than others. Fair to say there is blame both federally and provincially for where healthcare is at. Can't say that I've dove too deeply into the what a hybrid healthcare system would look like but guessing it would be a shock for most if they had to pay out of pocket.

In the meantime it's their ability to maintain a better health system with a significantly older population that's shrinking at an accelerating rate that we should really study and try to emulate. It seems to defy everything we're led to believe about growth.

Did you go buy a 1970 Cadillac, or are you just being a stupid little hypocrite? (No need to answer - we all know) OMG. What bugged me was how the idlot Left went on and on about how they didn't like "unelected bureaucrats" like Elon running DOGE, and yet for four years unelected bureaucrats ran the White House while sleepy dementia-addled Joe slept away his fake presidency. How Americans allowed that to happen is an ever embarrassing detriment to their electoral integrity, though us Canadians are no one to judge given the 11 years of awful tyranny we've inflicted on ourselves thanks to our own massive stupidity.

  32. President Trump is a honorable man and a man of action. He delivers what he promises. He has made America great again and hopefully will free Iran and the world from cancerous Islamic republic. The ones before him like Obama, Carter, Biden were cowards but he is a man of courage. He saw a big problem left to him from the past and he dealt with problems. He was democratically elected. It is nonsense to call him a dictator. He delivers on what he was elected for. He was elected on the platform of tariffs and make America great again.

  36. Dan Burmawy · Why does Islam produce more terrorists than any other ideology? Islam made it possible to always have a steady supply of terrorists through a very specific theological structure: 1: Terrifying Muslims with hell to such a degree that many lose interest in life itself. The Qur’an repeatedly describes hell in graphic terms meant to produce overwhelming fear: Qur’an 4:56 “Those who disbelieve in Our verses, We will drive them into a Fire. Every time their skins are roasted through We will replace them with other skins so they may taste the punishment.” Qur’an 22:19–20 “Garments of fire will be cut for them, and boiling water will be poured over their heads, melting what is within their bellies and their skins.” Qur’an 14:16–17 “Before him is Hell, and he will be given pus to drink. He will gulp it but will hardly swallow it.” When people are raised from childhood with the constant fear of eternal torture, life itself begins to lose meaning compared to the urgency of avoiding hell. 2: Closing all doors of guaranteed salvation except through jihad. No Muslim can ever be certain of salvation. Even Muhammad himself is told that he does not know what will happen to him: Qur’an 46:9 “I do not know what will be done with me or with you.” But jihad is the only act with explicit promises of paradise: Qur’an 9:111 “Indeed, Allah has purchased from the believers their lives and their properties [in exchange] for Paradise. They fight in the cause of Allah, so they kill and are killed.” Qur’an 61:10–12 “Shall I guide you to a transaction that will save you from a painful punishment? Believe in Allah and His Messenger and strive (Do jihad) in the cause of Allah with your wealth and your lives… He will admit you to gardens beneath which rivers flow.” When salvation is uncertain but martyrdom guarantees paradise, the incentive structure becomes obvious. 3: Promising that a martyr can intercede for dozens of his relatives and save them from the grave and hellfire. A martyr receives extraordinary privileges in the afterlife. Sunan al-Tirmidhi 1663 “The martyr has six blessings… he is forgiven with the first drop of blood… and he will intercede for seventy of his relatives.” Sunan Ibn Majah 2799 “The martyr will be allowed to intercede for seventy members of his family.” This means the act of dying in jihad is not only a personal salvation, but as the rescue of one’s entire family from punishment. Any Muslim who explodes anywhere in the world as a result of religious devotion is the product of a theological system deliberately constructed to produce exactly that outcome. A system that terrifies believers with hell, offers them almost no certainty of salvation, and then opens a single glorious exit: jihad in the path of Allah. The Islamic terrorists are not merely the perpetrators of violence. They are also the victims of a theology that weaponizes fear, despair, and the promise of paradise.

  38. I agree with you in wanting to see the country self-reliant with energy but that's not how we or our North American energy footprint has evolved. A West to East Coast pipeline would go a long way to that self-reliance but that really hasn't been a conversation that I'm aware of. Yep, we're going to using fossil fuels for a lot of years still but as time goes on it will be lesser and lesser which is all part of the investment decision companies look at. I'd love to be a fly on the wall listening to the conversations between government and private business around these type investments....

  42. You are being deliberately obtuse. Everything has been explained to you multiple times now. There is nothing unusual or abnormal happening here. Canada didn’t “change the standards” Canada complies with the NATO standards If there had never been any national tree planting program or any 2% NATO spending pledge and if even ifTrump-loving Conservatives ran Canada, the defence budget would STILL include the cost of any trees the military planted on their properties. When the US military plants trees on their property it counts in the US defense budget. I don’t know how many other ways I can explain this to you. There’s nothing different or unusual happening here No, you’re lying. Western standard doesn’t have “investigative reporters” and the article is behind a paywall so you have no idea what it actually says or what “numbers” they did or didn’t look at. re you as bad at math as you are logic? Let’s try to apply some abductive reasoning and recap some point I already explained to you 1) As I already educated you: the MOU for these trees was signed in 2022, long before Carney was elected and pledged to meet the NATO target So that alone sinks your whole argument right there 2) The Federal Lands stream of the 2 billion trees program was specifically designed for tree planting projects with various federal government departments that have federally owned land. The military was not even the largest of these. For example The National Capital Commission agreement covered 88,500 trees and Parks Canada is in the millions. So again the claim that there was a plot to pad the military budget falls apart. 3) Logically, 14,500 out of TWO BILLION is an extremely small insignificant amount, statistically zero percent ….0.000725% in fact. So it would be absurd to suggest these trees were dreamed up as part of the 2 billion trees program 4) According to Chat GPT the cost to DND to plant these trees over 5 years is a maximum of $1 million or $200,000 per year, an invisible ROUNDING ERROR in the scheme of the $41 Billion per year DND budget so it’s absurd to suggest there’s a sinister plot to “pad” the budget by 0.000487805% 5) 14,500 over 5 YEARS is a normal and reasonable number of trees given the massive lands the Canadian defence department holder and the major housing projects they have planned 6) The people who originally complained about this federal lands stream were the pro-tree people accusing Trudeau’s 2 billion trees pledge of including trees the government was going to plant anyway 6)

  43. It's been very confusing for me so I spent a bit of time recently thinking about it and as near as I can tell as far as the left is concerned when it comes to the middle east they're only consistent policy is that it's okay to slaughter children and innocence as long as you meant to, but if you do it by accident or necessity then you're evil. Hamas: kills over a thousand innocent civvies in unprovoked surprise attack, many of whom are women and children = good Isreal, defends itself kills innocents only by accident and without intent while hamas hides behind them using them as meat shields = bad Ayatollah kills 50,000 civvies women and children intentionally to silence people he disagrees with = good USA kills members or corrupt regime and targets their military in order to prevent them threatening civvie pops with nukes and from killing tens of thousands of their own people = bad. If we could convince them that the iranian leaders and military were ACTUALLY jewish citizens and mostly women and children in disguise, we'd have full buy in from the left
