Isn't it already working? Trump is begging for help from the countries that he continuously ignores, insults and disrespects. His line yesterday was "maybe we shouldn't be here at all." He's a man of little conviction, on the verge of taking his ball and going home.2 points

If all you've got left is lies that anyone can look up and see the truth of then there's not much else to do but just point at you and laugh Just another lefty liberals selling out our military. Pathetic So where are all these new weapons? Oh right. They're in the budget but they haven't actually been purchased or acquired Got some nice trees though2 points

I gave you the facts. The raw, unaltered facts. You reject them because they destroy your warped narrative. That would be...your problem. A problem you can only try to resolve with angry little comments. Which means, of course, you got nothin' left. But that's not really surprising, considering your mentality and intellect.2 points

1. Oil prices are set globally, not by CBC. You're correct though that the carbon tax was implemented to encourage using less oil. 2. Not only the CBC, but I'd have to think everybody wants to war to end oil pricing to come down. Kind of makes sense for both the humanitarian and economic pain it's causing don't you think... 3. I didn't see where Greta was involved in this shit show, and this comment if you call it that makes little sense. 4. Greta again... the kid gets around. Is the once every hundred years fact based, or just your best guess? Good insights though...2 points

The System is Not Broken, it's Doing Exactly What it was Redesigned to Do. Video Last part of the Louis Powell series on America becoming an oligarchy with a big push from the Citizen's United SCOTUS ruling allowing unlimited dark money campaign donation. AKA the end of "one man, one vote." 🤮1 point

............ likely needed tho. The thing that should be a concern is that the 300 million plus to construct was donated. Quid pro quo looms large.1 point

Why would he do that? That's more of a commentary on your life and mindset than anything else.... Seems like that's exactly what you've imagined here. Another Fox-derailed thread.1 point

Likely be a mistake in believing Trump enters litigation with the sole objective of winning ...... arguably the message is sent, win or lose. It's more of an intimidation strategy - to the litigation actual ........ but more importantly, the broader audience. Don't fk with me is the message. ................ conform or you'll be sorry.1 point

If you're referring to the specifically the covid vaccine, he's correct. For males under the age of about 50 as I recall the vaccine was more dangerous than covid for those who didn't have a severe underlying condition already. That research has been concluded and a number of studies were posted here showing exactly that1 point

You really need to get better educated. Vaccines save lives... end of story.1 point

What an odd view. Iran is teaching the Arab world that they were right to be worried about Iran's threat of their military power over them. Iran is lashing out because that is all they are capable of doing, and so far it appears to be backfiring on them, as our allies in the region have been more resolved to support us rather than turn their backs on us. The United States stands with our allies and has provided them with the aircraft and defense weapons they are using now to counter Iran.1 point

Yet now you're all freaked out by this crypto venture of Eric and Don Jr. How many times are you Libbies gonna need to be reminded that its been your own heros who set the table...established the rules...and now have to sit there and accept Trump perfecting YOUR approved methods?1 point

The U.S. is a major exporter and importer (gasoline) ANY change in international trade or demand directly affect U.S. business and consumers. The Persian Gulf is important to the U.S. because it is a critical maritime chokepoint for global oil trade and it's derivatives Arguably the U.S. wouldn't be the Nation it is today without the global economy, designed by the U.S., post WWII. It's often asked, 'why is the U.S. seen as the global cop"? It's because stability is the life blood - the U.S. has by far the most to lose in commerce due to global instability and denied access to sea routes - think South China Sea - dash line? In any case whether the U.S. is a net energy exporter is moot - ask yourself why is the price of gas increasing? Simply put, the oil produced by fracking (high sulphur) in the U.S. is not suitable for the domestic refineries. Big oil has invested trillions, over decades, in developing refineries tailored to imported oil that is low sulphur. (ME) Why don't the refineries retool? Because the return of investment would never happen - non renewable energy is the past?1 point

What's there to prove.... just look for yourself. He sided with Putin and threw the US Intelligence community under the bus for their assertions of Russia in his first term, he sided with Putin regarding election interference reports, he sided with Putin in suggesting Ukraine started the war, and he just again sided with Putin in dropping oil sanctions while Putin is providing intel to Iran. I'm sure there's a lot more but the common theme is....always siding with Putin. Krasnov is clearly a trusted agent... What are you talking about....'it was announced to the world' It should be obvious even to your Trump-adoring mind.... He's trying to find a way out of the mess he created with Iran and what has and will continue to impact the price of oil, LNG and semiconductors. For a guy that was pounding his chest loud and hard about a military that is the greatest ever seen he sure seems desperate now in begging and/or threatening other countries to send warships and assets to help in the Strait. Until then the world is going to be paying more for gas and anything oil related (which is pretty much everything). On a side note.... it's good to see the countries that he pissed on and that he's begging now sitting on their hands for the time being, and hopefully for a long time. That's your guy....1 point
-
I agree with you in wanting to see the country self-reliant with energy but that's not how we or our North American energy footprint has evolved. A West to East Coast pipeline would go a long way to that self-reliance but that really hasn't been a conversation that I'm aware of. Yep, we're going to using fossil fuels for a lot of years still but as time goes on it will be lesser and lesser which is all part of the investment decision companies look at. I'd love to be a fly on the wall listening to the conversations between government and private business around these type investments....1 point

Frankly, no one cares what you say. You couldn't find a point in a fork factory. I have no idea why you come here.1 point
-
That's pretty much it. I'd like to see us as a country become at least totally self sufficient. The failure of Energy East to materialize was a big mistake. Now much of eastern Canada is totally dependent upon oil from the U.S. and other places like Saudi Arabia. It's going to be awhile before we weed ourselves off of fossil fuels and we're putting our economy at risk. Wars change things as Europe found out after the Russian invasion of Ukraine and what seems to be unfolding today.1 point

The price of crude is the main component in the price of gasoline. As the cost of crude climbs so does gasoline, and vice versa. After that it's all supply and demand, profits and taxes as to where the price of gas is in the market.1 point
-
We do extract it and refine it in the refineries we have across the country. We can add as many as we want, but it still won't change the price of oil for us. That's bought and sold at market rates. It would though to your point help our economy and dollar with more output and revenue from it.1 point
-
When Chavez took power in Venezuela he subsidized the price of gas at the pumps to the extent that people were paying about 10 to 15 cents/gallon. The price at the pumps is what it is.1 point
-
Just like with climate change videos... A crazy graphic gives it away that you'll be well entertained but not well informed.1 point
-
Yes, you can have an international price, but again, if we produce oil and can refine it, we can have our own pricese , totally independent from the global markets. This will in fact help our currency appreciate.1 point

It is so... oil pricing is set globally and has nothing to do with how much you have or don't have. The price of oil, or the oil price, generally refers to the spot price of a barrel (159 litres) of benchmark crude oil—a reference price for buyers and sellers of crude oil such as West Texas Intermediate(WTI), Brent Crude, Dubai Crude, OPEC Reference Basket, Tapis crude, Bonny Light, Urals oil, Isthmus, and Western Canadian Select(WCS).[1][2] Oil prices are determined by global supply and demand, rather than any country's domestic production level. Oil, gas or any other derivative of can be sold at whatever the seller wants to sell for but the price of a barrel of oil does not change. If the dumbass down south wants to start more wars buckle up for a lot higher oil pricing. Won't be the case though as he is clearly running with his tail between his legs now trying to figure a way out by asking countries he's dumped on to help to open the strait, increase the flow of oil and get pricing normalized.1 point

What "civilian" oil tankers are you talking about? The oil tankers that ask permission from Tehran to pass and are not associated with the USA/ Israel interests are let through. You have a bunch of arrogant b8tards bomb the hell out of a country , wiping out a school with hundreds of kids inside and you are talking some strange nonsense. They did not start this mess. They can shoot all over the place now for all I am concerned. If it was up to me to resolve the situation, I would ask USA and Israel to pull out immediately and pay reparations to Iran. Then the world can negotiate for the oil traffic to resume.1 point
-
No, I didn't know that CBC supported higher prices for Canadian's. Gather they're not Canadian's, or just like paying more for stuff? Please explain how we 'hardly buy any oil'? Real curious of this one... Your fascination with CBC has you thinking stranger than you normally do. You have this opinion that everyone thinks similar to yourself and is as easily influenced. Lose your ignorant bias for a minute and try to understand that higher oil prices affect everyone....dems, republicans, independents, right, left and centre. Or do you think dems and libs don't get costs passed on to them? Why so much trouble understanding this.... It doesn't matter if we had oil pipelines running down every street in the country.... the price of oil would be the same as it is today. Try reading FFS... oil pricing is set globally and has jackshit to do with how much you're sitting on or can produce. China is still a developing country that is dependant on conventional fossil fuels for energy but leads the world in clean energy tech investment. To say they don't at all use green tech energy is factually false. Over a third of China's energy usage in 2025 was from clean tech sources. Read man, read....1 point

A carbon tax has zero to do with the price of oil. Why do you find it difficult to understand that oil pricing is set globally? You have an odd way of thinking if you believe the CBC has say one way or the other in what oil prices should be.... 1. CBC is a media organization. Who there is telling you that they want higher oil prices? 2. No, it's everyone's position and basic common sense that high energy costs affect everyone, especially those in a lower income category. Is that a revelation that you just learned with this spike in prices? 3. Yes oil prices were that high but gets real convoluted during and coming off the pandemic... Biden came in during covid which first saw oil absolutely tank in price then as the world economies started to dig themselves out and demand escalated. At the same time Russia decided to invade Ukraine which saw their oil off the market because of sanctions causing the price to escalate more. It was a big deal then and is a big deal now. I'd think twice about calling other people 'dummy' when you're talking about a climate activist supposedly controlling the 'lefts' thoughts. Your fascination with Trump is admirable. Laughable, but admirable in your defence of the guy...1 point
