I’ve heard about this, but I didn’t believe it until seeing this thread. I now realize that the left, or at least a good portion of it, is quickly going stark raving bonkers. Take note, those can still think for themselves, that the Media has become an arm of Democrat propaganda, programming people into an absolute frenzy. I’m going to suggest something controversial. You might want to limit your exposure to such brainwashed people. Don’t engage them in conversation because they can’t learn anything outside of their matrix like fake reality. They are, in all likelihood, lost to society. Spend your efforts on those who can actually be helped, most likely those at your workplace. Why waste your time on damaged people that start threads like this one, for instance?

I agree that these are big ticket items, even after compensation from the sale of television rights. For me there has to be some city building benefits. The PanAm Games gave the GTA a velodrome and some improved infrastructure by the Don River. If we got more subways, sports facilities, and other legacy projects that add to the city, I’m all for it. Also it boosts the city’s international profile, tourism, and athleticism within Canada. We would need careful contracting to prevent price overruns. We don’t seem to be able to inspire anymore. We haven’t built a fast modern intercity rail line. It seems to take decades to build infrastructure that we used to build more cheaply in a few years.

Well it does reveal that the OP is all about politics as a board game for vindictive and Petty people who love to see the types they despise in pain and sadness.
