I don't think the Freedom Convoy ever would have happened under Harper Harper would have had the truckers & veterans onside the whole protest was incited simply by the nature of Trudeau his totally fake imperious persona a substitute drama teacher who acts like he is emperor4 points

the Liberals only chose Trudeau because he was the pretty boy son of PET he had absolutely no qualifications, he had literally done nothing with his life but they were so desperate after several pathetic leadership candidates, other complete fops like Ignatieff they knew they could sell the Trudeau brand, so they went all in on the PET mythology they were simply blinded to the fact that he was actually a creepy psychopath with a totally fake persona then Trudeau & Butts simply made sure to pick cabinet ministers who were utterly weak & useless cronies the caucus of the Liberal Party is nothing but cronies & sycophants, the party makes sure only they can run but now its out of control, Trudeau is now destroying the Natural Governing Party brand itself and there is nobody in the party who can stop him, they've created a monster, and he's wrecking their party4 points

democracy is a double edged sword there is both liberal democracy & illiberal democracy the original democracy in ancient Greece was illiberal they voted by white ball or black ball dropped into a vase hence the terms "blackballing" that's the sort of democracy Canada has transformed into the illiberal democracy where your rights are voted down by a mob3 points

First i would like to thank you for the lecture, on how someone should conduct themselves on a public forum, and that criticizing one's government is frowned about. And soldiers rarely complain about anything to anyone outside the military that one is a new one for me. You must have talked to a lot of soldiers, to form that fact or a hard opinion. And yet here you are on a forum that has plenty of ex or still serving military members. And not all of them have had the same experience or opinions about their time in the military, go figure... I spent 34 years in the military, not all of it was bad, the military was in most cases good to me, but like you said my complaints are not directed at me, as you suggest, they are for the general population that have served in a combat environment, not necessarily in combat but in that environment, I know hard to wrap your mind around it, unless you have experienced it. You mention Croatia, where you of military age when you came to Canada, i ask as i did serve in that region, my wife served in Zagreb, while i served in Bosnia Herzegovina, on a multi tours... i thought maybe you could relate to what i am saying, but something tells me no. While serving i was on many investigative teams that researched the deaths of young soldiers, be it from training accidents, to suicides, to combat related, i have also penned many letters and memos to the chain of command on ways to improve basic vets benefits, or how we could improve the military's treatment of mental health topics. I have seen firsthand the effects of PTSD and how it destroys a person's entire life, I've seen members who received treatment and went on to live productive lives, and I've also seen the results of suicide. And if telling the public what the conditions are in the military, and perhaps it may end up saving a life you'll have to excuse me for being so selfish. But then again, the media has told Canadians over and over again the state and condition our military is in, Every Canadian knows all of that, that is not my objective here to educate you on anything, but to remind you that no one is doing anything to correct it. To remind you that for the Majority of Canadians that includes you, you don't really care, in fact your pissed off becasue someone is telling you the truth that you already know, and it is not what the government is telling you. And i don't care what state the Russian Amry is in, i spent most of my career training to destroy it. What i am passionate about is the Canadian army and what state it is in. Not becasue i am some loyal Canadian citizen, becasue i am not really that loyal, but you have not been in my boots have you, but you go ahead and pass judgement if you can. Our government has beaten that out of me, but i am loyal to those that have served and are still serving. Loyalty is something that is earned, tell me what Canadians have done to earn the loyalty of any of its service members... I'm not looking for your trust, your respect or any of that, you've already made up your mind, those that complain are weak in your eyes. and maybe so, but i did make some promises that i would at least continue to voice my opinion, you can do anything you want with that.2 points

indeed the idea that the institutions are functioning as they were intended is obviously nonsense at this point the limitation of choice is so extreme that there really isn't any way to significantly influence the government what is acceptable policy is Canada has become such a tiny Overton window, voting has become utterly pointless and the free press no longer even exists, the press is entirely state run, simply bought & paid for propagandists2 points

He's the Russian version of Killary. People who have dirt on her commit suicide by shooting themselves in the back of the head. Rumour has it that one guy committed suicide with a bow and arrow, and another guy fell down an elevator shaft onto some bullets. Agreed.2 points

Another Queenmandy85 assumption above. Do you honestly believe that Prime Minister Harper would have refused to meet with the Freedom Convoy and try to work out a solution? That Prime Minister Harper would have sniped the misogynistic, racial, and utterly un-called for comments that came out from Justin Trudeau? There's two types of 'class' Queenmandy85 . . . . . 'first class' and 'no class,' Care to guess which category your 'boy' falls into?2 points

We actually have a pretty good system that evolves as necessary. You know a government system is functioning properly when you realize Prime Minister Harper's government would have done the same things as Prime Minister Trudeau's. At present, there does not appear to be a need for any "meaningful" change. We get the government we are willing to pay for. The main conundrum governments face is the fact that voters want all the government services but don't want to pay for them.2 points

There are many conclusions that reasonable people can make. This isn't one of them. ?2 points

this is the most corrosive aspect this is the thing which has destroyed my faith in Canada over the years the institutions in Canada never result in any sort of accountability for public officials even if this "commission" rules against Trudeau, it's meaningless Trudeau can and will simply ignore the findings and carry on the public officials are effectively above the law, there is no mechanism in Canada to hold them accountable2 points

so true Trudeau is a complete & total nutjob pathological lying psychopath but what is even more crazy, if how all the cowards, sycophants, cronies & traitors in the government & media rally around this lunatic thing about Trudeau, he was always like this like when he was a teenager and first appeared publicly he immediately came off as a weirdo like his entire persona, his personality, is so obviously fake he's always had that creepy psychopath vibe about him he doesn't relate to people, he thinks he's fooling people, with his phony persona that's the mark of a psychopath, they are faking it, they are pretending2 points

No, you just proved that even with the benefit of hindsight [as much as 3 years in some places] you still have no clue where we are right now, how we got here, how bad things actually are, how much worse they're going to get, and how close we are to complete disaster. Ignoring the massive provocations in Ukraine and pretending that Putin blew up NS1 & 2 is not funny. It's not helpful. It's not cute. It's not contributing to a pleasant outcome. It's just recklessly piling new stupidity on top of old stupidity - which you should be able to see for what it is by now. This isn't just politics now Beave. Partisan support is no longer excusable. It's risen to the level of "existential threat" for people all over the world. Not just from nuclear war, which I'd like to hope is still only a slight possibility, but from cold and hunger as well. Biden is stupid enough to be blissfully aware of what's going on right now, the Biden family is not at risk of going hungry in his lifetime regardless how badly other people get screwed by his actions, and he's not long for this earth, so the consequences won't be that dire for him no matter what. You should take stock of what Biden might cost you, your family, and innocent people all over the world though, and how little we stand to gain from risking so much.1 point

Agreed, his language was imtemprate. Most of the mandates were imposed by the Provincial governments. The Public Health orders were imposed to prevent the collapse of the healthcare system, reduce transmission of Covid 19 and save lives. Nothing impacts a person's mental well being like being on a ventilator and using your last breath to beg for the vaccine. Deprevations were minimized by government payments such as CERB. We need an Act to provide authorities with an option with less severity than the EMA but with the ability to prevent such unlawful behaviour in future. And, yes, the occupation was illegal.1 point

You’re such a sycophant of the Trudeau regime. You think it’s fine to declare martial law (that’s what it is under a euphemistic name) to put down a non-violent legal protest that was in the midst of having its sharpest edges dulled (removal of blockades, ending of honking, shrinkage of protest footprint), and that Trudeau’s disparaging of a large segment of Canadian society that opposed mandates was fine. You know about the freezing of bank accounts, seizure of assets, etc. For you to think this wasn’t a big deal and that it won’t be remembered in our history books is pure denial of the obvious. The Freedom Convoy and the “democratic slippage” of our Canadian government’s overreach won’t be forgotten. In fact it was an international symbol of a modern liberal democracy under threat of lapsing into totalitarianism. People couldn’t believe what was unfolding in Canada. It was highly significant.1 point

Fetterman is a terrible candidate mainly because of his policies. But he still has a great chance to win if shady things happen on election night in PA. One has already happened; 240,000 unverified ballots have been received. Is this going to be another case of "here we go again"? the SSBN acts as the arm of decision simply by preventing the war from happening in the first place like if there is a confrontation between military powers, things escalate straight to Cuban Missile Crisis frigates won't ever get to the point of shooting at frigates either they climb down from the brink, or things kick off with a theatre thermonuclear counterforce1 point

You’re assuming most people think in terms of species. That might happen under threat of alien invasion or control, and I agree that we have far more in common than what separates us, but you’re ignoring the massive movement against colour blindness and the notion that we can’t understand anyone outside our tribe because our lived experiences are different. To pretend otherwise under this insane new tribalism is considered cultural appropriation. All you can do is check your privilege, understand that you don’t understand, and give up your property to the officially designated victims, who are classed as such by race or ethnicity without regard to their individual abilities, achievements, or inherited wealth. It’s simply a new form of discrimination based on the idea that equal rights is not true equality because some people should get more to level the playing field based on race or ethnicity. That’s why now we have EDI point systems that put group identity above merit. The overriding message is that individual merit is less important than the state’s attempt at equity through social engineering. People now refer to less competent people who get jobs because of these state schemes as “equity hires”. People know they won’t be fired so they are simply trotted out as symbolic tokens of a company’s progressiveness. That’s the very big downside of wokism and the equity movement that literally dominates HR departments of all governments, corporations, and large businesses. It’s actually very damaging to talented BIPOC who don’t need favouritism to move up in organizations. Lose your meritocracy and you wreck your civilization. The Chinese and Russians understand this better than we do. I know there’s a need for atonement in the US for slavery. Canada has the residential school chapter. It doesn’t mean that we should create new forms of injustice to right the wrongs of people who lived long ago whose context we can’t even understand. Again, if someone alive today was mistreated or has a legitimate case to make for a land claim, they should have their day in court. They are having it. We can improve representation without discounting merit, but adding points to someone’s hireability based on superficial traits like skin colour will only sow division and damage society.1 point

They didn't own it. Any more than the bears or birds. Why would the natives have any sort of legal claim to land in a place that had no laws nor written language? Why? Every other nation on Earth did it. Certainly the natives didn't bother to extract some sort of legal agreement from each other when they attacked and took land.1 point

Whether the EMA was necessary will be determined by the Commission of inquiry. Regardless of that determination, the barbarians were removed frome the gates and none of this will rate a paragraph in future histories of Canada, because the convoy came, they violated the rights of thousands of citizens, and then the Police moved them out.1 point

the status of "being here first" has no particular legitimacy unto itself that is simply invoking occupation occupation inherently relies upon force which is entirely subject to others coming to take up occupation by the same force1 point

?Now that’s a self-contradictory statement! Thanks for yet another laugh! James Burke's two great TV series were about how truth is rather flexible according to the time you live in. We all know that the Earth goes around the Sun. No personal insult at all, just an observation. Making predictions on what the report, due next February, is going to state is crystal ball gazing, not using a brain.1 point

I am sure you have a brain so hopefully you will use it. I am not going to argue with you nor make predictions. i will wait and see the other peoples testimony. I do not see anyone "taking the fall" fro anyone. They are all being asked questions and responding under oath. Not sure what you are expecting from me except to tell you there is a lot of testimony to come and your crystal ball gazing is meaningless to me. I will wait till it is over and the report comes out to make my mind up.1 point

Incorrect. They were opened when the EMA was enacted on 14 and 15 Feb. Yes, the commission and inquiry it is about the necessity of the EMA but, the testimony is not there yet. Than me? It is not about my opinion. I am just watching and listening to the testimony and wanting to know who, what , when , where and why of the event by and from the actual people that were there every day.... not tictokers, fascetimers or tweeters making comments on forums. At lest 4 more weeks of questions and answers to come....from all sides.1 point

Trump will produce and create a world of freedom and enjoyment. The deep state globalists will be gone. No more Convid 19 lying games anymore. We will get back to the old normal that we once enjoyed before this hoax Convid 19 virus came along. It will be great for Canada if Trump wins. If you prefer Biden, where am I today, idiot then what you are living thru today will be nothing to what the democrats have in store for the world. Exactly. It shows that the emperor wears no clothes. His failure is written all over the events. He insulted thousands (millions really) of Canadians who had legitimate concerns about vaccine mandates and restrictions after two years of deprivations and serious damage to mental health and businesses. Rather than reaching out and working with people he insulted them, hid, and imposed the harshest measures available, the “nuclear option”. This wasn’t an FLQ terrorist action resulting in kidnapping and murder. Fair minded people who see how our constitutional rights were disregarded and the failure in government leadership are made to feel like their concerns are illegitimate. It’s called gaslighting.0 points

I can only speak for myself and from my experience one must remember their oaths & affirmations to include declining to obey unlawful orders particularly those which violate the highest law in the land each person therein must decide for themselves to defend & uphold the rights enshrined by the preamble of the Charter “Whereas Canada is founded upon principles that recognize the supremacy of God and the rule of law"-1 points

You are forgetting the purpose of the Public Health orders. 40 thousand Canadians have died and over a million Americans died. This pandemic is the worst tragedy in American history. The mandates were imposed by all of the Provincial governments with the sole purpose of saving as many lives as possible. Don't give me this garbage of a "freedom" convoy. Their objective was to take away the freedom of thousands of people in Ottawa.-1 points
