  1. If we don't undo this fear-porn soon, the evolutionary implication will be that people will develop and hang onto a learned fear of getting too close to other people. We've already taught kids to not let others breath in their general vicinity. To be weary of people. That's a tragic mistake.

  2. I have a transit pass and a Vespa scooter. Fuel there isn’t killing me. What’s hitting me hard on a fixed income is groceries. Everything we consume comes by truck, rail and possibly ship. POTawa and TrootOWE can lie all they want about inflation but my groceries are up 35-40% in a single year. I can’t afford fresh meat and produce is killing me. Taxes on fuel IMO sees people not eating healthy when a processed frozen microwave meal of mystery ingredients can cost less than a single large red onion or a handful of asparagus, never mind a head of lettuce. I was craving Waldorf salad and the required ingredients cost me $14. I fear I can’t afford the taxes in CanaDUH much longer.

  3. 1. Really ? Well... you brought him into this thread where he didn't need to be. 2. Mine is also low but higher than it was. 3. Ok. I would say that there's some good here: support for working people during the pandemic was something and our overall effectiveness against the pandemic was comparatively good. Of course, I don't know how much credit he would deserve for the latter. I really don't think he's very good and I resent having to defend him constantly to people who equate him to dictator etc. I wish we could get back to talking about the politics that is and not hyperbolic shitfights. 4. As I said in #3 I despise today's political sphere. It's barely politics at all, it's winner-take-all scorched earth absolutes and hatemongering. Trudeau is also guilty of this, I acknowledge. 5. As was pointed out already - you claim to be non-partisan and yet call ME, a self-described conservative, "you people". People hate the fact that I am rational and without any way to go after me they claim that I like Trudeau. That's the haute coutiere [sic] in reality. 6. I would like to think but you are actually putting this culture division (which is happening throughout the Americas and Europe) on one man. That's not thinking. To me, that's hyperventilating. I would say there are forces driving us, and using media to do so. We have to adjust and reset the game board to be people talking to people and not people interrupted by trolls. You are not a troll.

  4. I'm not a fan of how twitter is used from a technical perspective. I probably will never sign up, but love how the left is howling. A little free speech is just too much for them.

  5. We're led to believe that the Dems and GOP are fairly equal political parties in the US, and sometimes the GOP even has a POTUS and control of the Senate and or Congress, but regardless of who's "in power" the Dems still seem to run things. The GOP won it all in 2016 yet the Dems controlled the airwaves with Russian collusion disinformation. Their lies and disinformation kept the government on its back heel for 4 years based on some rumours and innuendo. The wall didn't get finished, covid disinformation outweighed truth and reason, and the GOP couldn't even hold a fair election in 2020, even though the POTUS was a GOPer. All that time the leftists were saying that social media is just fine, there's no such thing as a shadow ban, there's a lid on disinformation, etc, but we all knew that was totally false. Saying something as simple and logical as "the virus might have come from a lab" was a known ban on FB and Twitter. Social media was like a dedicated disinformation superhighway for the last 5 years or so where only people who told the truth got banned. You could openly recruit terrorists but you couldn't say "BSL4". It was bizarre. Now that Musk has taken control of Twitter all of a sudden leftists realize that shadow bans are serious and very real, and they think that it's an abomination for one person to control a social media platform. Imagine Mark Zuckerberg's surprise when he found that one out... Given the level of control that the Dems have over CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, NPR, FB, Hollywood, etc it's shocking to see how apoplectic they're going just because Twitter has left the fold. The GOP suffered censorship, slander, libel and watched leftist disinformation run rampant on social media for years and couldn't do anything about it even when they had the WH. But a week after Musk announces that Twitter will have free speech the Dems have just announced that they're opening a new Ministry of Propaganda called the "Misinformation/Disinformation Governance Board". The board will be led by a woman who called the Hunter laptop story, which was 100% true, "a Trump campaign product". How's that for a slap in the face of truth? They're not even pretending that they aren't just circling the wagons around their own censorship and lies. The Dems don't even know that there will be any disinformation on Twitter yet but government regulation has already started. The GOP isn't even meaningful at all right now. Biden is destroying the country and they are just twiddling their thumbs, watching the Dems openly seize control over social media. It's not even a facade of democracy anymore. Just complete one-party rule.

  6. I've been away for some time, working, traveling, meeting people. Been to four countries, very different from many perspectives, climate, economy, development, prosperity. The world has moved on. Not in the airports, official. Two out of three flights, no masks, no longer mandatory or nobody cares. On the last one, wore it consciously, it was a lot of people packed in a small space makes sense though in two years perhaps we could have come up with something better for such situations, and by that I mean more effective, the number, percent. But OK. An evolutionary aside: a very long time ago like millions of years, the ancestors of humans had tails. They dropped them when they lost their usefulness, like why have it, carry it around if it doesn't do anything? Back in Canada: like it was yesterday. Like it's still the heat and the top of the scariest yet wave (haven't turned the media on yet, what's there. Thinking of maybe dropping that habit too). Thought that I read something about more relaxed restrictions but it doesn't show in the reality, cannot be observed objectively, here's the problem. Wonder what could the implications be, from the evolutionary perspective?

  7. Bullshit you think that otherwise you'd be too busy excoriating Poilievre for ignoring this snow-washing. You don't give any more of a fuck about corruption than he does. Harper obviously never gave a shit either otherwise his much vaunted Accounability Act would be doing more to prevent it. You are a shameless hypocrite who deserves the shitty government you get. Oh yeah... I'll be voting for Trudeau for sure. Lol.

I always find these types of stories quite comical. Any time a person criticizes a Western politician, the narrative goes, they are conspiracy theorists who are being influenced by Vladamir. Could it also be that Western policies are crazy and that people don't want to spend trillions of dollars blowing people up in a foreign country? Do we need a "Russian troll farm" to help us draw our own conclusions about foreign or domestic policy? Is everything the doing of Vlad?

  9. Where do you live? Where I live if you still have a mask on people look at you funny. We let the clinically insane drive the narrative over the past few years whereas I'm sure deep down people knew the restrictions and masking was for lunatics. It was a compliance tool with nothing really to do with health. People were more worried about the lunatics levying face diaper fines and busting down your door for having granny over for Sunday brunch than the bug.

  10. In the US too. Biden will begin seizing assets of "the Russians". With how those lunatics threw around baseless allegations of being Russian plants over the last 6 years, pretty concerning for anyone valuing freedom and opposing psychopaths

  12. You made the declarative statement "Trump is beholden to Israel and AIPAC, he's not strong at all, he does as he's told" so I just had to point out that wasn't actually a fact, just an opinion.

  13. And Harper was right. The Chinese can't own property is Chinaland so they buy up all our real estate and let it sit empty while the average person can no longer afford a house. Liberals then bury any new builds in red tape and there we go Truey sure loves Canada

  14. I dont take the side of psychopaths like Truey. My theory is ol lady Margie took too many drugs when she was pregnant with him. Unfortunately prenatal exposure to drugs can lead to psychopathic tendencies and anti-social behavior... he has no impulse control which is scary when he's the prime minister dealing with other crooks and psychopaths. No ability to reason through his decisions and often acts out of impulse rather than rational thought. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5342840/

  15. No. The real issue you have is that you can't abide anyone who doesn't join you in your mindless attacks against him. You need to come up with something more tangible like the snow-washing of dark money into Canada's economy going on under Trudeau's nose. Except then you'd probably have to bloody a few conservative noses too wouldn't you?

  16. Yup. It's truly a disease isn't it? It's not necessarily the corruption that gets me. He is corrupt theres no doubt about that (see the RCMP sweeping bribes under the rug from the likes of Aga Khan). Its that he's smug while doing it... little smirk on his face as he calls you names for asking why he's taking bribes sort of like "because I can". Same with the vaccine nonsense... nothing more than Truey showing you he can inject his juices into you if they want.. akin to a psychopath.

  17. Yep, I too notice the same thing - groceries up by 40% and sometimes more. Then the overpriced vegetables are of questionable quality, most coming from hothouses and most non-organic. I think some taxes must be dropped and the non-taxable personal income amounts, both federal and provincial should be raised by 50%. If I had a garden I could have grown some vegetables in the summer, but I have little room - just a couple of trees and roses. I planted two cherry trees on my neighbors property so hopefully I will be allowed picking some once they grow up.

  18. I think Putin was hoping to take Odessa in time for this: May 9 Russian holiday will be pivotal, dangerous deadline I think he'll have to settle for a smaller celebration though.
    1 point
  19. I made a prediction here a couple weeks ago that Putin's ultimate goal (for now) is to take Odessa, cut the Ukraine off from the sea, claim victory and call it a war (for now.) I'll make another prediction now. He'll never take Odessa. Russia is getting weaker. Up until now Ukraine has been fighting this war with Soviet castoff weapons. However, it just received a massive influx of superior weaponry from America. Other western countries have also contributed. It will take time for them to retrain with the new technology and get it in place. By the time the Russians are ready to full on attack Odessa the Ukrainians will be ready. If Putin attacks Odessa he could lose all he's gained.

  20. This is pathetic! Nina Jankowicz...who I think is either a Ukrainian/American or Polak/American...has been a HUGE purveyor of "disinformation" for years. America and the entire world needs Trump back in the Whitehouse, now more than ever. These...insufferable Tweenkies...don't even care that their cheating is blatantly obvious now. They openly rape truth daily, in order to keep their positions justified. But the truth of the matter is just as obvious. The Democrats know they can't win this years elections and that they can't win in 2024 either. They've done too much damage to control. So now the federal government is going to decide what Americans can and cannot think and/or say. Will Americans choke down this latest pile of chicken shit? Or will this open display of authoritarianism finally drive them to stand up to this crap and demand a return to democracy and the US Constitution? And as for you...Nina you homely little Tweenkie...go back to fucking Russia where you belong.

  21. The billionaires who own the media do not like this upstart billionaire. It’s frightening to see how easily the general public is swayed to hold whatever opinion media moguls want them to believe. This despite what Elon Musk has achieved. Tesla, Space X, Starlink. And not even done yet. I love how Musk seems to purposely take them for a ride. Fight mass media manipulation with mass media manipulation.

  25. I wonder if Ukrainians feel like they're getting their money's worth for all the cash that Hunter wheelbarrowed out of their country. On the one hand, they are getting a lot of shiny toys to shoot at the Russian soldiers who are destroying their cities, on the other hand, yeah, their cities are still getting destroyed. Lying about the reasons for war there and ignoring the Biden family's profiteering is probably the worst example of how western media works. If one of Trump's kids ran Hunter's scam there people's heads would be purple 24/7 at CNN, MSNBC, etc. The vein on the side of Rachel Maddow's head would be the size of the Nile. The FBI would be doing pre-dawn raids at the house of every living Republican and digging up all the ones that died in the last 10 years.

  26. Kiev has to face a big problem of its own Ukrainians must now have significant military strength in Kiev because in a panic without records, they distributed +20,000 pieces of automatics weapons. Even to the convicts they released from prison. Now someone has to defend civilians from well armed gangs who don't think of fighting the Russians. They are there for everyone who has some property and no weapons. They can easily declare someone a Russian spy or saboteur and rob or liquidate. Regular police have no chance against these bandits.

  27. Wow. Great question. I feel like I also use that term, though, but to identify people who have checked-out of society's conventional channels and roles. Now you would THINK I'm talking about hippies and such, and sometimes they fall into it but to my experience it's mostly people who are sucked in to conspiratorial online gibberish... Trudeau hate-worship and despising mythical archetypes. In other words, people who live in their own constructs and not in the real world. Thanks for giving me food for thought today.

  30. They're serious... about chasing windmills. Just remember that the leftist parties are built around appealing to people who have never accomplished anything in life and they know they never will, therefor they lack a sense of self-esteem. When those ones sit at the table with their more-accomplished contemporaries they don't want to feel 'less-than' so they've created this imaginary world where everyone who has accomplished more than them was just privileged, or they had help from some racists of their own kind, etc, and therefor their 'superiors' are actually just morally and ethically inferior bullies. That's why they're always making things up about the police, SC nominees, creating genders & pronouns, advocating for pedophiles' rights, banning words like "mother" and "father", etc - they are deathly afraid of running out of causes that help them cling to their illusion of self-worth. They say things like: "OMG, Brionna was a puritanical princess who was killed for sleeping black!" and if you don't pretend to see it 100% their way then you're racist, stupid, crazy, etc and you need to be cancelled: "YOUR WORDS ARE POISON! THEY'RE KILLING PEOPLE! AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" They finally dropped the whole "emotional support animal" BS because they finally realized that they just make them look like professional soccer players.

  32. It feels like the end of the Roman Empire without the Christianity. We’re watching our civilization get ransacked by ignorant woke students. They remind me of the Taliban, the armed male teens and men defacing ancient Buddha statues carved into cliffs. The destruction of Ryerson’s statue and the renaming of the university, supported by a university president with little respect for Canadian history or context, seems like another marker of our entry into a new Dark Age. Interesting that the physical privations of the pandemic are reflected by the intellectual privations of cancel culture. Sadly, these ideologues are running our institutions and country now.
