  1. Canada is one of the LEAST racist countries in the world and actively works at stamping it out. Why would you be overly concerned about racism in Canada when the MOST racist countries are Middle Eastern and Islamic-ruled countries? If you are truly concerned about racism, I would start there.

  2. Fear of different and belief in one's own superiority drives racism, everywhere, including in Islam majority countries and among Muslims. In countries where political leadership fails to take a clear and firm stance against racism of any kind, its worse. It's really not that hard to figure out, so I agree with whoever it was called this a troll post. And yeah, this issue is worse in Muslim-majority countries, so maybe confine yourself to asking why that is and what you can do about it, you being Muslim and all. Ciao.

  3. This is like asking why some Canadians steal, or rape, or murder.

  4. Probably similar to the reasons some Muslims are so loud about their hatred of non-Muslims, gays, Jews, etc.

  5. Great post WestcanMan! Canadians in general are the most accepting and friendly people around. Back when I traveled to other countries that would be one of the first things I'd here, 'oh your from Canada! We love Canadians!' Have you ever experienced this? It's always a great feeling. With people like Marocc immigrating to Canada this may all be gone someday! Just a thought.

  6. My bad then. No, I’d expect everyone to practice mitigation and social distancing for at least a few months, maybe more. I’d expect high risk people to stay in some type of quarantine. But perhaps there could be some expanded services for them to make it easier and more safe. Retirement and nursing homes would be pretty much off limits for the foreseeable future.

  7. What I was responding to is that it sounded like you just wanted to unleash the whole economy based on 11/100K and 80x that for seniors. Your only quote to go along with those stats was: "The science is in, it's time to let that start dictating policy, not emotion." The combo of that quote from the article plus your own comment doesn't imply caution. It implies a willingness to let the chips fall where they may. I'm in the camp that says we should be opening up as well. We both know our PM will use this as an excuse to virtue signal, and that it's impossible for there not to be a flare up at least somewhere in the vastness of the US, even based on virus that is currently in the population before they open up, and the next round of "Trudeau did awesome and Trump sucked" will likely have a smidgeon of merit to it. God help us, because we've already seen how hyped up they get even when they're flat out wrong, as with the Jan 2020-present scenario.

  9. If it's no more than in other places, then there would be no point for the question. It would basically just be "Why are Canadians as racist as other people?" Or "Why are Canadians normal?" The answer would be: "Because they are normal."

  10. This is just an accusation disguised as a question Marocc. The question is predicated on your false assertion that Canadians are more racist than people in other places. That's patently false, so your initial question is just a weak attempt at hate mongering. How do I know it's false? Canadians don't kill our own people just for blasphemy. Canadians don't kill other Canadians because of their sexual orientation. It's highly illegal in Canada to physically attack other Canadians out of bigotry, and in cases where that does happen, a perpetrator can face as much as ten extra years in prison for their "hate crime". This is the will of the people. The majority. It is an accurate reflection of the average Canadian. Hence, I say that Canadians are less bigoted than a lot of other countries. A better opening question is, what's your problem with Canadians Marocc? What gives you the impression that Canadians are more racist than people from other countries? Do you feel like you're less racist than Canadians? Do you feel like you're less of a bigot than most Canadians? What your ethnic origin? Your religion, or lack thereof? Are people from your country, or your religion, the types to kill others for being different? Let's go Marocc.

  11. A lot has been said about the elderly being most affected. Does it not occur that, if one smartens up, with a little luck, you too might get to live long enough to be old. Whether you are 18 or 98, dying is a bad thing. Some people are pretty cavalier about other people's lives. There is Captain Tom Moore (Happy Birthday Tom) out raising money for the NHS. The elderly deserve our respect and everything we can do for them. They've done a lot for us.

  12. When I personal see hundreds of thousands of illegal so called refugees crossing into Canada illegally, and breaking our immigration laws w/o a care, and costing the Canadian taxpayer's hundreds of billions of their tax dollars going to those illegals, to feed, clothe and house them is no doubt one of the reasons why racism may be on the rise. Just saying.

  13. Not saying it doesn't happen. But does it happen EVERY time - No. I'm an introvert, employed now by a company that saw my qualifications and introverted qualities (calm, think before I speak, don't dominate meetings, or push to have my own way, etc.) and created a position for me, which I accepted. It had nothing to do with the colour of my skin. And they felt they needed an introvert in an office full of extroverts. I'm often commended for bringing calm to stressful office situations - again, nothing to do with the colour of my skin. My argument is not that it NEVER happens. My argument is that getting a job primarily based on skin colour and whether a person is extroverted or introverted does not happen in EVERY situation, as has been asserted. What that poster is saying is basically - white people do not deserve jobs because it means a person of colour doesn't get to have that job. And that's baloney.

  16. Possibly the access to more online content these days. We also see the cozy relationship between the UN/WHO and the Chinese. None of them know what Taiwan is. Even China's revised numbers are total bunk. It does not match what we see in most other places. Trudeau was waiting on the WHO to give them guidelines on how to handle this, that was a mistake and a failure.

  19. I can see keeping the talented immigrants we need right away (plus their families) in quarantine for the required amount of time. I'm convinced banning anything from coming across our border is the right thing to do so long as we're serious about it. By serious though I mean...turn around or... ...as opposed to what we've seen to date which is no better thanat

  21. You don't watch CNN, but you see "Fox reporting on what CNN is reporting". How do you know what CNN is reporting if you don't watch. "I don't stalk my ex, but I do see her going into her house with the same guy a few times a day. And going to her gym. And her gyno. Her rear left tire has been low for 25 days now."

  22. In the meantime, London has lost more bus drivers to the bug than doctors. Buses crammed full of construction workers because they felt that they should be able to go to work if they wanted to and could keep 6' apart when they got there. The bus drivers who died weren't elderly or near the end of their lives, they left behind families who now have their lives ruined. We're talking about a few weeks here, time to let the infection rates drop, time to get our shit together with testing and providing PPE for everyone who needs it. What people don't seem to realise is that if things open up and the death rate starts to climb we'll just have to shut down again prolonging the whole thing even longer.

  25. Well, there's black privilege in the US, it's just not very strong especially compared to white privilege, because of the reasons you mention and others. Whites also don't dictate all markets and industries in USA. ie: Jewish Americans are very financially successful, and are known to hire their own just as whites do. But if you call them out on it you're labeled an anti-semite. White collective guilt again strikes its ugly head and gets in the way of facts. White people have been the most powerful race in the world for the last 500+ years, and with that power have done a lot of good and bad things. Turns out they're human like every other race. Every other race do good and bad things too with what power they have, they're human too. Blacks were ensalved by whites, and blacks enslaved each other to sell Africans to whites. Best not to feel too much pride or shame for your race, they're just people. White pride and white guilt lead to stupid actions & policies that are often racist.
