The Republicans should consider the possibility that if red states open and blue states stay shut down, it is republican voters who will be most affected by the surge in covid-19. When this happens to 30 or 40 year olds they can pick up the pieces and start again, but for older people it's about as likely to happen as winning the lottery. It's basically a death sentence. People will die if the economy opens too soon, people will die if the economy opens too late, people won't be able to afford to have babies if they have no home or job so some people won't even get the chance to be born. There's no solution that doesn't involve death or horror. Trump is going to make a monumentally large decision now and you should be hoping that it works. It's time for us to all act like grown-ups. President Trump has provided guidance for opening up, and some states are doing so. Ontario was already maxed out before COVID19, with patients in hallways and broom closets.
