Seems to me that classical liberalism is now lost at the centre.... and generally overlooked. "Progressives" have given up liberalism for their cult of egalitarianism, where individualism no longer counts for much. Individual liberties are to be sacrificed for identitarian causes... where victim status is what matters. "Conservatism" is now conflated with a new nationalism and a position in opposition to the above progressive position... with the sole goal of burning this ideology down and slaughtering it's sacred cows. Strange times we live in.2 points

Do you expect a coherent response from Trudeau? Your dilemma is obviously caused by global warming . . . .2 points

Could things be better... sure there is always room for improvement... Could it be worse... all you have to do is look around the globe... it could be a lot worse.1 point

Don't these belong in the thread on the Preamble to the Constitution?1 point

The Charter of Rights is like our Canadian Constitution? Both are a joke today. Maybe they meant well in their beginning, but they both have pretty much become a bunch of useless words written on a bunch of useless and worthless paper. They both can be interpreted in so many ways to suit whomever is in power at the time. The Canadian government and Canada itself has become a bastion for political cheats, thieves and liars who have no love for Canada. It's all about the money and the power now, baby. Canada died in 1980 when old man Trudeau came to town. Indeed, no one gives a shit about anything said here. Why? Because most members here appear to only give a crap about themselves. They have become just like their Canadian political master leaders today? It's all about me-me-me. Deplorable people those Canadians have become.1 point

Words mean far less than actions...throughout history...so I will salute American power...while you continue to resent it.1 point

A degree of subservience has been part of Canada for almost four centuries. In theory, we are a Monarchy. Our Head of State is, in theory, annointed by God and is Head of the Christian Church (Anglican). In theory, she is the personifacation of the nation. If one is unable to live with that, one could always move to another country which is more in line with one's beliefs. For a non-religious person, Red China would be the obvious choice.1 point

I'm not lying about your agenda; your actions prove it daily. Also, I have no interest in proving Islam meritorious; it isn't. My interest is in calling out people who make the world a worse place by spreading misinformation, fear and hatred against Muslims - or anyone. Here, it just happens to be Muslims. Perhaps if i rewrote your posts, substituting Jews for Muslim, people would clue in.1 point

It's far more important to Islam's protectors to have someone like myself silenced than for Islam to reform. That's the simple optics to me.1 point

Ok let's remove thou shall not kill and thou shall not steal from our charter. Could be fun.1 point

Getting the Constitution Act passed was a difficult, complex issue. The religious constituancy insisted on this and there was little opposition due to the fact that those who would have objected were a bunch of republican wing-nuts who just love to argue to hear the sound of their own voices and like to show the rest of us how smart they are. We are not a theocracy like the US but "Canadian Nation is founded upon principles" refers to the conditions that existed in 1867 when religion was very important. Spoiler Alert: Nobody cares what we say on this forum or any other forum. If you want to make a difference, get candidates who agree with you to run in the next election. Be aware that amending the Constitution is a snake pit and only an idiot would try and do it.1 point

I believe this needs to be addressed precisely because of this. If it simply formalizes how a people's government is operated, then anything goes on this condition. It undoes anything that follows outside of a fraudulent means to manipulate the 'common' citizen into thinking we have democratic freedoms. We need to address this or it is futile to pretend any ideas matter on this forum outside of voicing useless opinions. Edit additional point: If our opinions are voiced when they cannot actually have any affect for us personally; they only serve to INFORM those IN POWER who others are. Then such provision to speak only acts against those who speak with opinions against the present state.1 point

I think it's to inspire servility to authority by reminding us how low we are - keeps us in our place with respect to our betters.1 point

Duffygate was making headline news on a lot of nights 3 years after the story broke. SNC isn't making headline news anymore and JWR was just kicked out of the Liberal Party this April.1 point

Judaeo-Christianity came up with the radical concept of Thou Shalt Not Kill. No conditions. As well: Love Thy Neighbor...Go and do thou likewise....turn the other cheek...etc. Absolutely revolutionary. You're free to post Islam's version....1 point

At least that is their stated objective. The right needs reform, it needs a clear voice. It needs a leader of greatness...1 point

In Canada you have conservatives and liberals with the liberals being the left-wing option. In Australia they have liberals and the labour, sorry labor, with the liberals being the right-wing option while the labor are being hard left with open borders and climate-hysteria policies. Do you think Trudeau would be considered right-wing in Australia?1 point

IMO all lobbying should be done in writing so we can all see what exactly is going on behind closed doors. All face-to-face lobbying should be banned, unless the audio is recorded and it's also transcribed by an independent 3rd party and put on the official record.1 point

Your link full of shit, first off its American poll not Canadian, second 1300 vets were polled out of the what 2,000,000 that served come on now atleast try and be honest here.... The American experience is way different than the Canadian one, no comparison at all ,The majority of Canadians supported the conflict in Afghanistan, but shortly after it became unpopular with tax payers , so much so that governmental support bled off, much needed equipment and supplies started to dry up, NO new equipment that we desperately needed... Most Canadians don't have a clue what we did on their behalf, they don't know what we went through, the frustration we felt when we watch our own news coverage " mind you it was a week old" was depressing to find out we were bleeding over there and our fellow country men did not give a shit.. So how can you call it a waste when you never even gave a shit in the first place...165 Canadians were killed, 2071 wounded, thousands served, because we all thought that it was a worthy cause, Such a worthy cause they made the decision to come back for multiple tours of duty even after most of Canada had forgotten all about them, refusing to support them...…So you don't get to make that call if it was a waste , you were not there, you had no skin in the game . To those that served there I bet most would say your poll is full of shit...1 point

Meanwhile. beneath the facade of this projects of the elites, half the people in the land are going bankrupt. How many people here will have to be living in the streets, before they will admit to themselves that Canada is a poison which is killing them ? I'm not talking about junkies nor people with mental problems, middle class people who have done everything right, on the verge of bankruptcy. These treasonous elites in Ottawa are impoverishing the people, then selling them down to river to the brutal dictatorship in Beijing.1 point
