Justin Trudeau knows the Canadians' priorities. Lobbies, corporations are more valuable than Canadian citizens. Please Justin pander more with our taxes' money to the lobbies. It's important for us to have you reelected and get funding from these special interest groups. --- Why is Loblaw getting $12M to install new refrigerators? McKenna under fire for new funding https://globalnews.ca/news/5145773/catherine-mckenna-loblaw-new-fridges/1 point

1. Justin Trudeau is like his mother. Well-intentioned, beautiful - but an original idiot. 2. With his name, many ambitious people got close to him - and screwed him over. 3. After Dion, Ignatieff - the federal Liberal Party was desperate for a winner. (Many voters choose beautiful blue eyes, not so now.) ==== I still think that the federal Liberal Party has a place in Canada.1 point

Maybe because they listened to Scheer being interviewed by Rosemary Barton and of course Faith Goldy and decided to stay put.1 point

The scary thing about all this is how CTV has Trudeau's back through all of this. They're like his Ministry of Propaganda. They aired a segment the other day about the importance of governmental regulation of social media and they mentioned SNC Lavalin when they were talking about fake news on the internet (CTV complaining about fake news lol). I'm not at all happy that they're equating the SNC Lavalin issue with fake news but anyone dumb enough to believe everything they see on CTV is beyond hope anyways. I should make an ad offering bridges for sale and run it on that channel.1 point

What does real change look like? Would a Bernie Sanders-type government be any better? All that happens when you massively increase taxes is you demotivate people, and you end up with most of the money in the country flowing through the sticky fingers of the government. It's the exact opposite of what the SJW crowd is trying to accomplish. The way an SJW sees it is like this: The government grabs massive amounts of money from successful individuals & corporations and uses it to give them and their friends a boost to get through college. YAY! It taxes the life out of industries that burn fossil fuels. Yay! Wealthy businessmen like Buffet no longer have big gobs of cash YAY! Here's the reality: Warren Buffet is just as rich as ever, his businesses are just in foreign countries now and he keeps as much of his wealth offshore as he can. The Laffer curve shows how, when you tax people too much, they no longer have the incentive to work as hard. They work part time and turn their attention to getting on the government gravy train. In the real world, when you tax the top end too much the Captains of Industry move their wealth and their companies to foreign countries and good-paying jobs go away. The free university degree that you got is no big deal because if you get a good job and make alot of money you don't get to keep much of it... you're paying for other kids to go to college and to be on welfare. Foreign-country-Buffet gets even wealthier and the gap between rich and poor increases. The money that the government takes in inevitably goes to their friends' companies and the people in power get bigger kickbacks. Companies within countries that don't care about fossil fuels have a huge edge over your own tax-burdened companies. Your own companies die off. Like in Canada, for example. If I have a farm and I have 4 plots of land that each grow $300K worth of food, and I live in a socialist country, do I even bother to harvest it all? For an example: in a capitalist country the first $700K is expenses, $100K goes towards my mortgage and the last $400K is profit which i will get taxed on. In Sandersland my expenses will be much higher because the minimum wage is higher. I also have to pay a lot more into medicare, etc. So $800K is expenses, $100K is mortgage, and I have $300K profit, but now I get almost nothing for the last $100K. About $10K. So if I leave $100K worth of food to rot on the vines I almost make the exact same amount of money, plus I'll save about 1/12th on wages for harvesting. Now there's less food to go around, but my bottom line looks better. Just imagine a whole country where everyone knows that there's not much point in getting out of bed at 5 am to make a difference. They can sleep until noon and have almost exactly the same lifestyle. Pajamaland.1 point

Candace Owens (Turning Point USA) torches Democrats at yesterday's House Judiciary Committee hearing. "White nationalism" is the newest way for leftists to silence conservative views and deflect failed policies that impact African Americans and other groups while Democrats insist that they keep voting for them. "They blame social media which has disrupted their monopoly on minds."1 point

Agreed....such persons cling to a future hope to erase the realities they got so wrong in the past....Trump's primary victories...Trump's GOP nomination...Trump's general election win...Trump's inauguration...Trump's exoneration for alleged "collusion". They still want to get Trump so bad...it corrupts objective thinking....the very thing they accuse Trump of. Donald Trump will forever be the 45th President of the United States, and there is absolutely nothing that will ever change that.1 point

We've been over that. Obama lost his first mid-terms far worse than Trump did, and beat Romney easily. Trump losing 40 seats is not a sign that he's going to lose in 2020, anymore than Obama's results in 2010 was a sign he'd lose in 2012. Yet you continue to cling to those mid-term results as proof Trump is done, you always assume Trump is done, especially when he isn't, so clearly you are a poor predictor of Trump's chances of winning or losing.1 point

Argument ad populum. When your fallback is a clear logical fallacy, and then you duck proving your ridiculous assertion, you know you have jack chit. Other people buying into the ridiculousness doesn't make it any less ridiculous, in fact that makes it more ridiculous.1 point

Justin and the Liberal corporate establishment do favor big corporations before the common man. Nobody who owns a small grocery store gets this kind of financing by the federal government. Only corporates. Only the ones associated with the Liberals.1 point

Trudeau isn't well intentionned. But I give you that he's an idiot. He called for ISIS terrorists to come back to Canada. This alone proves he's either amoral or immoral. Amoral, because he doesn't have a set of values to guide him to take better decisions and to judge evil when it's front of him. Immoral because he thinks that he's doing something to get the votes out of the radical islamists. He isn't well intentionned by any means.1 point

As long as they're not actively promoting violence, I have no problem with radical leftist groups using social media. They have a right to be wrong, to lie and mislead and twist the facts. Take note that I think everyone has the right to speak their mind1 point

There probably are some tiny groups of white racists here and there. It seems to me that the big social media groups are using this to try and ban more and more conservatives from the popular platforms. I think there are way more extremist crackpots on the left but they don't have to worry about being banned. Those on the left are quite hostile to any opinions other than their own. The people that run platforms like Facebook ,Twitter and so on smell blood in the water and are using this as an excuse to severely limit conservative voices. How many radicals from the left have been banned from social media? Can you think of any?1 point

If you are referring to the SNC charges, that they be given a DPA, "NO" I don't think any government should drop the charges...SNC has a long history of this behavior, under many different CEO's , what I think should happen is this whole DPA thing be look at again, to see if this is not just political tool to favor the rich and famous.... I think it is time to stop corporate welfare, stop paying for others mistakes with tax dollars....SNC is not the only one, remember the bread pricing scandal, their back in the news once again....There should be laws in which these big CEO's who make these mistakes should be stripped of all their wealth once the company goes under because of these stupid mistakes or decisions....1 point

Folks, Can we please stick to the topic of what should be done about mercury contamination at Grassy Narrows? There are several other threads for expounding on your views of what 'should' be done about Indigenous Peoples in general. To recap: The Feds have already promised a clinic, but it hasn't been funded yet. ONTARIO is responsible for the pulp mill, and thus for mercury cleanup, but hasn't done so yet.1 point

While the issues are complex I doubt Eye understood you were trying to explain why I would guess to say many Canadians if not the majority use the reasoning you explained. No doubt he will take it personally, etc. Your point is well taken. Most people believe he above as do many aboriginal peoples who left their societies to live in the non aboriginal world. The system is broken because we created an environment that creates a never ending cycle of dependence on government handouts. There is abuse of the funding process and money itself is thrown into a political network that often mismanages or out and out embezzles the funds. Reforming the corrupted parallel government of the aboriginals is an issue frought with accusations of racism if you point it out as a non aboriginal and a guaranteed accusation you are a sell out traitor if you are aboriginal. It will take more than fake tears from a shallow poser like Trudeau at photo ops to deal with the issues. The Indian Act should have been ditched years ago. Also the federal government has the right to ask for specific accounting standards if it gives out money which its not enforcing or even asking for. I believe aboriginals need to step up to the place in regards to examining their own internal corruption. All that said, when we pollute and harm any community we must step up to the plate and remedy the damage and hold he polluters as much as possible responsible for the expense of the clean up. In regards to certain not all aboriginal communities that are isolated, we have to ask, if someone wants to live in isolation, is it realistic they can expect the same services as someone in a complex built up city. For people in isolated communities it may be we need to plug them in with satellite technology solar energy, wind and water purification systems for their het and air conditioning and communication systems not high transmission lines, or traditional energy grids. We should also be introducing biodegradeable mould proof housing materials or even housing.1 point

On the news this morning, the NDP communists have said that all schools in BC by the end of 2019 will now be forced to supply menstrual products in all schools in BC. WHT is this? This is so typical of a government that believes in socialism. Take other people's tax dollars and blow them on others. How does this work for the boys in school? Will the NDP commies now supply condoms for boys now in schools in BC? I mean after all, we are talking about equality here. Why do I as a taxpayer have to be forced to pay for girls needs? Why cannot they pay for their own menstrual products themselves and bring them to school like it always has been? The more the government gets bigger, the more things just seem to get worse and crazy and more taxes dollar being blown needlessly. Even the BC minister for education said that she was quite proud and pleased to announce this wonderful program with a nice big fat communist smile on her face. NDP????? The NDP and the Greenies are really bad news for the taxpayer's of BC. But the people wanted the NDP in power no matter what the price. Well, they got it and are paying the price. The people of Alberta have had enough of the NDP communists in that province and it looks like the NDP will become toast after the election. I say, good riddance to bad rubbish.1 point

That coalition in BC proves that the BC citizens did not get what they voted for. What is proves is that a handful of people can control the destiny of the province. Democracy should not work that way.1 point
