  1. Remind me again. You don't like Meryl Streep because she said people shouldn't accept the mocking of disabled people, without naming names? I can see how a true Christian would find words like that offensive.

  2. Trump understands trade to date has included large imbalances, tariff and non-tariff barriers, supply management, dumping, intellectual property theft, counterfeiting, subsidies, bribery, offshoring, onshoring, tax havens, etc. in a wild ass game of winks and nods that Trump did not create. How dare Trump upset the delicate scams of international trade !

  3. Agreed....no matter what happens, Trump has been wildly successful just by getting this far, and his political enemies have been frustrated by his unconventional methods. Republican or Democrat, fighting Trump is like boxing with smoke. So they vigorously attack Trump's surrogates and supporters (like Sanders) , because attacking Trump has little effect.

  4. I bet she was forced to resign. Local businesses are affected by this. Yes, in this video it describes what Wilkinson did after Sanders left the building. She organized a group and harrassed Sanders' group at the other restaurant. The incident was confirmed by the owner (?) of the other restaurant. It makes my blood boil. Sanders did nothing wrong! The Red Hen was supposed to open today, but will now re-open on July 6. Hah! Should be longer. As in permanently!

  5. I just love how all the economist running around in Canada and EU are trying to make a logical argument against Trump's proposal for true free trade. The best part is they know he's right from an academic standpoint but they can't admit it and instead chosen to appear politically tough like Trudeau whilst screwing over their countrymen. WAKE UP CANADA. America is doing you a favor!

  7. 1) They seem to think they have a right to some chunk of the US Midwest. I think they could do well on a floating barge. 2) They could split hairs by saying "We don't hate the ethnics, we just think they are a lower form of human" 3) It takes generations, mostly as we wait for the dinosaurs to croak...

  8. The word settlers was a word used at the time when Canada was being settled. White people do not use that word today because they are not settlers anymore. I am white and I was born here so I am not a settler. I am Canadian born and I am not an immigrant. An immigrant is someone who immigrates to another country. I did not. I guess that I am safe to call myself a native Indian also now. Where would North America be today if it were not for those white "settlers" who came to NA and settled and did something with the place. Do you honestly believe that today the native Indian population want to go back to the old Indian ways and days before the white man/woman came along? I doubt that very much. They have it a lot better because of old whitey today and they dam well know it too. Black slavery still goes on in some Arab and African countries today. And all of those past slave owners were black and Arab and were all too willing to abduct and black people and sell them off to the highest bidder. So, don't make it sound like black slavery was a white man's creation. Yes, it was wrong for white people to get involved in the slavery business but it was the white man who eventually stopped the slave trade into America and eventually give the blacks their freedom. But do you see thousands of blacks leaving America for an African country today? Nope, because they know that they have it better living in a white country rather than if they lived in an African country. This constant bashing and trying to constantly remind white people by people like you needs to stop. The slave days are over. Accept and live with it. To continue on with this racism towards white people is as far as I am concerned promoting hatred and maybe even violence towards white people. Give it up.

  9. This is what happens to those who watch and listen to the fake and lying left wing liberal media like CNN and MSNBC and dumbocrat Maxine Waters. Those so-called journalists and reporters are nothing more than a bunch of left wing liberal actors and activists and Waters is just plain an a-hole and those a-holes could careless about America or the American people. Those employees of that restaurant thought that they were being smart azzes. It backfired. I too if I were a Republican would be afraid to eat at a restaurant where those soon to be unemployed people were serving or cooking my food. I bet that they would spit right into their food if they got the chance. The owner of that restaurant had the chance to keep her mouth shut but she did not. And now she has to pay for it. Looks good on her. They probably will be hitchhiking and not take a plane because they probably do not have enough money to take a plane.

  10. Well, I did provide examples. I can also add the gays antagonizing the bakery and so forth but... Saunders went to what she considered a quaint little eatery and was booted out by someone making a political statement. That someone chose to publicly enter into the political arena. If she gets any blowback, it's from her own doing.

  11. None. We should ditch the Quebec dairy subsidies and pursue true free trade with the US. It serves Canadian best interests to have full access to the largest First-World Market on earth. The Perfumed Prince Trudope should quit posturing and shut his gob hole. Canada will pay a heavy price for electing this ridiculous arrested adolescent man-child.

  12. I want to comment separately on this matter because I entirely agree with you. It's absolutely bizarre that in Canada, in particular, some people can apparently self-determine "visible minority" status, which kind of defeats the purpose of the exercise, if you ask me. Under U.S. census classifications, immigrants from mainly Arabic Middle Eastern countries are considered to be "white" or Caucasian rather than vis-min. In Canada, however, people from the same region seem able to pick their identity and to obtain privileges on the basis of what in many cases seem to amount more to difference in religious affiliation than race. Based on generic racial categorizations, people of Middle Eastern descent are clearly of Caucasoid origin, as are those of European descent. I have known and worked with several Middle Eastern Christians over the years, mainly of Lebanese background. As far as I'm aware, they all considered themselves to be white or Caucasian and not explicitly to be members of a visible minority. But more recent migrants from the same part of the world often seem to be categorized as vis-min, which makes little sense. A Globe and Mail piece raised this issue a few years ago, but it appears to be politically incorrect to actually address the contradiction. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/visible-minority-a-misleading-concept-that-ought-to-be-retired/article12445364/

  13. She consistently doesn't serve Trump administration officials. Sanders is just the first in her restaurant. It's funny to watch you pull a complete 180 on the idea that restaurants should be allowed to serve whomever they please. And yet no cognitive dissonance. I wonder why that is. But the only one who clearly broke the law in this situation is Sanders when she used her government account to attack private individuals and send a mob after them. It's really pathetic that people would defend that sort of behaviour in a public official. She should resign and be charged under the law.

  14. Yep. She was asked to step down. She asked Sarah Sanders to leave......and now, she was asked to leave. Karma can't get dished out any faster than that! https://www.virginiafirst.com/news/local-news/owner-of-red-hen-restaurant-resigns-from-position-with-non-profit-organization/1264951736 The irony of an Executive Director of a non-profit organization whose responsibility is to enhance the economic prosperity of this community, being the cause of this? She picked a fine time too, what with the looming trade wars that would affect everyone! https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/2018/06/26/red-hen-sarah-sanders-visit-leaves-lexington-virginia-reeling/733196002/

  17. This whole thing is like the divorced mom and dad. For 8 years the kids lived with mom, they didn't pay bills, stayed up partying all night, didn't work, had their friends over, the house was a mess and nobody cared - it was a co-dependant situation. Now, the kids are sent to dad, dad has rules...wants them to work, pay their bills, tell their friends that the party is over and he's not feeding them...and no beheading people either. I've seen it a thousand times.

  18. He won't fail. You know why? Because he's an American president. He has the world strongest, economic, intellectual, moral, military power at his side. Say what you will of trump personal life but don't forget he is in the office of the presidency. He has the best tools and minds at his disposal. And he has clearly stated he intend on unleashing their creative power and not hamper them with Obama era restraints.

  19. I'm not too concern about this actually. He's exposing the game and that is a huge political risk for a typical politician. But trump isn't a typical politician. In fact he isn't a politician at all.

  21. This is a great twitter thread by Ms. Remple, worth reading. It does show that people can fight back on social media if and when they aren't given a fair shake by the press. https://twitter.com/MichelleRempel/status/1011619027725180929 1/ Thread. Woke up this morning to my staff being infuriated at a Toronto Star article that a) once again trots out the tired trope that my party is Trump north and BE SCARED CANADA and b) accuses my party of spreading fake news, because we question Liberal dogma.

  23. Back to Sarah and the Red Hen: Just saw on the news that people are protesting outside but only one arrest... the owner who actually followed Sarah to another restaurant with a group of people to continue harassing her, has resigned a position she held and the place will stay closed for a while longer. Meanwhile the House could expel Waters for encouraging mob violence against Trump supporters, but that won't happen, she'll just play the race card.

  25. Let's be clear - there is no immigration crisis in Canada. We can handle the planned immigration of people who genuinely WANT to come to Canada and duly follow the application process. We have a developing crisis in bogus refugees, queue jumpers, economic migrants and those who would just try and sneak into the country. Anyone who is found to have entered Canada through any point other than an official crossing should be immediately turned back. It's lawyers and the refugee industry that has "championed" the extended appeal process that is given to people who should be given no more than one kick at the can. If not - no matter what the hand-wringers say - the true refugees being housed in camps are the ones that get shunted down the list - if not off it completely.

  26. It's all irrelevant. Whether one's ancestor was British, Irish, Russian, or Chinese, whether one's ancestor was a colonist or a refugee, bears no relevance to the moral worth, responsibilities, or obligations of the current generation. People are people. They are individuals. And they (obviously) had no influence on events that happened before their lifetime and thus bear no responsibility for them. Period. Any ideology that seeks to fault people for the sins of their ancestors is inherently flawed.

  28. Aren't you still on her 'ignore' list? Even if you are not, I doubt she could come up with a coherent reason anyway, just as any religious fanatic cannot. I give her a break because I was a bit of a religious fanatic at her age, but I outgrew it - and at least she is here being exposed to different viewpoints (sort of, haha) and maybe after a few years perculation, those ideas will bear fruit. I think the 'harm' is that the leaders of these countries will lose power. As long as they can convince their citizenry that the laws are backed by God, there is less effort involved in keeping them in line. I don't suppose it's any coincidence that the more highly educated/higher income-earners in these countries are the most likely to flout religiously-based laws without reprisal. Its as if they are all in on their little joke on the "ignorant masses".
