Is anyone else worried that this country is losing its cohesion and is become lebanonized?

With the continuing flood of immigrants and 'refugees' from incompatible and hostile cultures, no effort to screen them, and no effort to integrate them, it seems to me that Canada is on its way down to third-world status, a place filled with hostile tribes with irreconcilable cultural differences, doomed to violence. Ethnic enclaves continue to grow, pandered to by spineless politicians, and young people continue to grow more sullen and look for more radical people to follow. The election of Mamdani in New York is not just a symbol of the failure of the traditional political parties (mirrored in Canada) to do anything useful for people; it's a symbol of the anger and estrangement of younger people, combined with mass immigration which has made almost 40% of New York's population made up of immigrants. In Toronto, it's over 50%. And most of the newcomers are from third-world countries with no cultural tradition of democracy or compromise.

Muslims and Sikhs have been the most visible and obvious about their refusal to ever integrate, and about making it clear their loyalty will always be to their fellow religious and not to whatever country they are currently living in. But many other groups are growing and are largely sticking to their own areas and people. Loyalty to a nation would rest on the belief that the nation is worthy of loyalty. That hasn't been the message our political, media, and academic classes have been delivering for the past couple of decades. According to them, Canada is a genocidal nation on stolen land without legitimacy and irredeemably racist in every single institution and organization. That's the message they've been braying out to the world for quite some time. And it's had an impact.

The future does not look bleak. Especially when the continuing flood of newcomers is also combined with a continuing deterioration of our economy as well as law and order in the street, all brought about by the same incompetent, venal, self-serving, corrupt political class.

........... on the other hand it has been said that Canada is a mosaic - not a melting pot. We are a country without a culture - yogurt notwithstanding.

No.

That's because you're sure the Americans will take over. But many of the same problems are happening there.

I have posted the Pew surveys that reveal Muslims are... Surprise.... The same as other human beings when it comes to adherence to religion and lack thereof.

Now back to your screens, anger bots....

Not saying your survey is false, but in my experience, the Muslims i have meet abroad and here in Canada do not support your point....Most are very devout to their religion, and all of its culture...I find that the richer the nation the more relaxed it's religious beliefs are like UAE, SA, turkey. The poorer the nation the more devout they are...Libya, Syria, Afghanistan etc...But i want to be very clear, even the rich Arab nations are much more religious than say Canada or the US....by 10 fold...

1. I do not doubt that one bit.  This is something that is very difficult for people to understand, and especially for liberals to accept that a large number of people support Trump, still: they don't know anyone who fits the bill.

This was described by Daniel Kahneman as the "What you see is all there is" trap.

2. Very true.  But the ultimate religion is economic freedom... just ask the women of Bangladesh.  Why is the birthrate going down everywhere ?  It's not religion doing htat...

We have a problem with the way the Jewish community is being threatened  and we know which community is mostly responsible for it. If this is a sign of things to come, then I don't like what this country is turning into. Add to that politicians who take advantage of this divide and use it for their own political purposes. This has to end.

See.... Army Guy, in the post above yours, articulated an intelligent objection to what I said so I engaged him on that.

So you're saying there aren't still large crowds of mainly Muslims marching through the streets of every city (illegally) screaming out their hatred of Jews?

My real-life experience says otherwise. Are you aware that this religion, like no other, has an important and well-known clause that suggests its adherents lie to non-believers when this will advance the cause of Islam?

TAQIYYA — What Is Taqiyya (And Kitman)? Is It Really Lying?

Well said. The lieberals will not quit until Canada is finished off and pretty much bankrupt. It does appear as though things will only get worse and not better here in dopey lieberal Canada.

Non-white new immigrants are being brought in by the hundreds of thousands every year and they are told that we are a multicultural country and those new immigrants are told that they do not have to assimilate. Just told to carry on like you did back home.

As i keep saying here? The old Canada that we once knew and loved is gone because there are way too many leftists out there who could careless as to what the lieberal communists have done to Canada in the past ten years, and the lieberal lovers and supporters here do know as to what i just said is quite true.

The lieberals here would prefer to see Canada go down the shit hole rather than help Canada to become a wealthy country and to help see its full potential. The lieberal commies would prefer to have DEI and woke and broke and bankrupt policies that will help Canada become a 3rd qorld with all of the trimmings that come with millions of non white bums that will never help to make Canada a true and prosperous country.

So, as i keep saying here? Go RIP Canada you are bloody well dead with no hope for you on the horizon. Just more doom and gloom and communism is the name of the game for Canada now. 👎

I will conceded to your point i have not meet every Muslim and there is always the exception. That and most Muslims I've meet were in conflict zones...

I think everyone's primary religion as you called it is economical, it is what drives most cultures....

I think women of Bangladesh are being held back due to religion or equality....I think resources are what is driving reduced population growth....everything is becoming more expensive and that drives the size of families, (my Opinion)  where in yester year large families were due to survival/ life expectancy...

How many generations back did your family immigrate? I believe mine was my great-grandfather, not that long ago.

You just don't like that today's immigrants are not white Europeans.

Pew surveys "revealed" it.

Next.

I guess we can stop screening people for bombs and guns at the airport now, genius.

This was described by Daniel Kahneman as the "What you see is all there is" trap.

The person guilty of believing that "what you have personally seen is all there is" is actually you.

  1. You have only ever encountered muslims here, where they form a small minority, and are therefor powerless to inflict harsh bigotry on those around them. Army guy has encountered them both here, AND in the places where they form the majority.  His opinion towers over yours in terms of the amount of personal experience he has on this issue.
  2. You refuse to consider the main body of undeniable evidence from literally every muslim nation on earth: violent bigotry is the norm in all of them. They don't just threaten women for not wearing a hijab, they beat them, rape them, and even flog them and then jail them.

Leftists like to pretend that muslim women here in Canada wear the hijab as a symbol of their freedom and personal empowerment, but the truth is entirely different:

  1. in some instances, they will be beaten by their own fathers and brothers if they don't wear them
  2. in literally every instance of every single woman in Canada who wears the hijab, they are standing in solidarity with the men all over the world who beat women for not wearing the hijab. FYI the hijab is not just "The number one symbol in the world for misogyny and religious bigotry", the hijab IS A TOOL FOR RELIGIOUS BIGOTRY. If you visit a muslim country, or God forbid, live in one, you cannot keep your wife and daughters safe without putting a hijab on them. Period. And even our dishonest leftist gov't will tell you that in their travel advisories. If you go to Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, UAE, etc, etc, your women really need to wear a hijab if they wanna be safe, even in the touristy areas. Go to a small town and you have two choices: hijab or instant violence, period.

In Canada, muslim women like to pretend that they will occasionally receive dirty looks or even be harassed for wearing a hijab, but those same women KNOW that they will be beaten for not wearing the hijab in muslim countries, and some of them will even be beaten by their own family members here for not wearing it here in Canada.

It's not like you don't know these things, Michael the fake conservative. You just can't bring yourself to tell the truth about anything.

I just don't like that today's immigrants hate my culture, traditions and values and want to take over and force me and everyone else to live like they did in the shithole they came from. I also hate the massive cost of paying for the upkeep of what are now millions of failed immigrants and migrants earning minimum wage or living on welfare and living in public housing leaching off the rest of us.

And there it is. In the past immigrants came here looking to be a part of what we had. Not force us to be a part of what they were fleeing. Sure they would share some of their cultural elements so that was great but they didn't attack our own values that have made our country great in the process.

Now everyone we let in seems to want to protest violently, bring their petty little squabbles and wars to our shores, and demand we follow their law.

And I really don't care what color their skin is I'm not interested in that.

Some truth in that.

I can agree with you on that.

Every nation was built on stolen land, in one shape or another....What is different is some how Canada thinks it should give back those lands, because it makes leftists fell better about themselves...most of which did not have ancestors here at the time who did not take part in these historical wrongs....my point is how far back in history do we have to go back to correct all of this, and if we go back far enough do we make indigenous people also give back territory they conquered from other tribes...

That's a crock of Sh!t, I think what every Canadian wants is these immigrants to have something in common with our culture...or willing to adopt to our culture, and a lot have , but then again a lot have not, lets just take the Palestinian refugees here in Canada who's only goal is to protest, and disrupt Canadians blaming others for racism is just an excuse that leftist use to enforce their argument...

The worlds is not full of unicorns and rainbows, there are many cultures that do not mix well with western nations, we see that in Europe right now, and to a lesser extent we are seeing it right here in Canada....I think we have already proven that diversity is not a strength but a weakness...and in reality there are nations that should have a huge red x across they admittance to Canada...for many reasons.

We, the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have now done so much for so long with so little, we are now capable of doing anything with nothing.
