Honest? Why would he have a problem with that.

You on the other hand are self exposing for what you are (namely a twat) and need no help from others :)

We've been complaining about it for ages now.  The left created it and weaponized it. Then biden made it gov't policy with numerous examples of the state flexing it's might to force companies to make sure their algorithm's blocked conservatives and refused access to ads.  Not to mention threatening legal charges if anyone dared to even DISCUSS hunter's notebook, they threatened to end major media outlets.

You were just peechy keen fine for all of that

You're such a horrible liar.

Where Did 'Cancel Culture' Come From? — The James G. Martin Center for Academic Renewal

The Left invented cancel culture. Now it’s devouring them alive

Cancel culture - WikipediaThe history is clear, the term was coined in about 2017 specifically referencing silencing individuals, it gained steam on the left and was used extensively by the left and justified by the left.

Cancel culture is distinguished From holding people responsible in that holding people responsible involves letting them reply and defend themselves. Cancel culture calls for the people to be shut down and smothered without having an opportunity to defend themselves.

It became extremely popular on the left during the me too movement where evil men were not supposed to be allowed to respond, they were simply to be destroyed if a woman accused of, and it spread to all elements of society on the left. A scientist was canceled at NASA for wearing a shirt that people didn't like despite the fact it was designed by an independent woman artist. Cancellations became quite popular on the left. The right frequently spoke out about it and said it was terrible.

Now the right has said if these are the new rules you have to play by them too.

So there you go, a  beginning primer. The history is there and easy to find, cancel culture was invented by the left as a way to destroy their enemies without giving them the opportunity to defend themselves. And now after all these years the right has decided if you can't beat them, join them.  How you liking them apples? :)

I don't know why I bother educating you though.Every time i give you a cite even if it's as clear as a bell YOU turn around and insist you've never seen it 5 minutes later :)   So honestly I guess I do it for the others reading this rather than you. If you were a real person or someone who wasn't just the comic relief maybe but you? Pleases :)

So let's recap.

The left invented cancel culture and are now upset that it's being used against them

The girl who accused trump recanted her statements and the whole thing was a publicity stunt in the first place. There's no evidence in the slightest she was ever threatened and nobody with half a brain or more believes that.

Kimmel getting fired isn't actually a free speech issue because it wasn't his speech, he was acting on behalf of the networks. Having said that I would still be uncomfortable with it normally, but as I said the left has set the rules and until they decide that it's time to set them aside we have to live with them fairly. Which means both sides get to suffer, not just the right

You're a twat

Here we go, that's basically the whole thread in a nutshell :)

OK, I see you're doing it on purpose.

Have you considered that you're going to see this same tactic applied in reverse? I'd submit that you're just starting to see it manifest itself now, that there's much more of it to come and that you're not going to like it.

Narrative reversal techniques like  "Kirk's shooter was a MAGOT motivated by the fact Kirk wasn't MAGA enough" and studiously avoiding direct evidence to the contrary whilst repeating the talking point in sound bites is something you'll be seeing again before you know it... Republicans will (I say) are adapting and will continue to adopt progressive information management techniques... if they're wise.

Frankly, you've been lucky up to this point that someone (dare I say) like me wasn't running the war room... I'd have been gleefully pummelling you with your own BS long before now.

I'm not talking about cancel culture, which the right invented with Colin Kaepernick, Bill Maher and the Dixie Chicks. That has nothing to do with the first amendment. Private citizens are allowed to shun and boycott as they please.

I'm talking about your accusations against Biden.

I would say it started with the HUAC In the west: the house Un-American activities committee.

But that was a reaction to the influence of the Soviet Union in America In the 1950s, which was real if overstated.

When that initiative fell out of public favor, it wasn't that the American people turned against cancel culture. It was because the committee was reckless in its accusations, accusing innocent people.

So clearly there is an appetite for excluding people with different values.  And all political tribes do this.

It's more interesting to find examples where the tribes themselves draw the line at cancellation.

Looks like someone has a new patronizing catch phrase !

Both widely known for being avid Trump supporters and raving MAGOTs... right?

I stand in Awe. Do you proofread anything you write? Do you take a moment to think about it? Have you considered why this is blowing up in your face or that it may be the beginning of a long, bump and grind slow-dance? Or do you simply assume that your audience here is (collectively) as bat shi% crazy and easily lead as ROBO-MONKEY and Herb?

I'm not trying to be confrontational here... I just think you're headed for Lemming Ridge on Crazy Island and think you should buck the trend and turn back before PNR... as opposed to leaping into "the void of darkness."

Don't take my word for the potential pitfalls here...Remembrance Day is coming up. Go to the legion and find an old gray haired guy with lots of UN medals and ask him.

You misunderstood. I mean the right invented it when they cancelled those people. I thought the meaning was obvious.

Really?

Bill was never cancelled... he's actually about the only reasonable libby on offer. I tend to think he's someone a thoughtful person could even negotiate with and achieve a compromise. His repeated warnings to progressive L/W lunatics should be amalgamated into a single video and they should all be forced to watch it until their eyes bleed.

A final thought:

You are going to find reverse messaging to be a technique that only works occasionally... It seems like you think that you just invented it.

You may be able to sell the idea that the right invented cancel culture and that it all started with Bill and Kaepernick to ROBO-MONKEY, but after that initial success, your audience will dwindle precipitously.

I don't think you're going to like the inevitable see-saw ride as much as you think. From what I've seen of the world it ends with people (usually innocent people BTW) being catapulted over the playground fence while those that built the damn see-saw blame park maintenance for the very fence they voted to erect.

Here's what's going to happen... You will eventually settle for a compromise you could have had on day one and come to realize that the pain it took to get it wasn't worth the cost of admission to the park.

Ask that old guy with the medals (at theLegion)... I bet he says the same thing.

Nevertheless. Even though the right invented cancel culture (yes, starting with McCarthy—-look that up too, junior), that’s irrelevant. Cancel culture has nothing to do with the first amendment, which talks about government censorship, not private citizens boycotting things.

As a PS,

I probably should have mentioned that your go to brand of "dismissive arrogance" will only serve as fuel to accelerate the see-saws amplitude.

I'm retired now, for me it comes down to the choice of scotch or popcorn while I watch the show... maybe both eh?

I'll save you a seat.

Cheers.

You went on for paragraphs, calling me batshit crazy because you didn’t understand a simple point I was making, and now you’re whining about being called “junior”? How soft are you?

Or, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all.

There is no excuse for people pushing lies to shit all over the man immediately after he was murdered.

So now that you've been proven wrong you're trying to shift the goal posts?  Now you want it to be about biden and free speech :)

Here ya go

57 Biden Administration Censorship Initiatives

Biden-WH-Censorship-Report-final.pdf

There's a lot more if you need it.

Oh and lets not forget Hunter's notebook:

Holding Former Government Officials Accountable For Election Interference And Improper Disclosure Of Sensitive Governmental Information – The White House

A number of democrats also pressured the social media sites to suppres any talk of it.  You could get banned permanently for daring to even MENTION it.

And for ALLLLL of that you were fine.

The left invented cancel culture.  The biden admin FREQUENTLY practiced censorship.

You were HAPPY with it then.

You're a hypocritical twat :)

Sorry i've already proven that's a lie.

Cancel culture was invented by the left in 2017 and has been used for years now to destroy anyone they disagree with to prevent them from even having the chance to defend themselves.

Mcarthy never did that.

But you NEED to LIE to make your point. The truth doesn't help you does it :)  This is why you're such a joke ;)

You can't say "i'm not happy he's dead" and in the same breath say "but he was a monster who doesn't deserve  a kind word' .   It doesn't work like that.

The word "but" in a sentence tends to cancel anything before it.  "I should jog but it's raining", means you're not working out.  "Its raining but i should jog" means you're going jogging.

When you say "I take no pleasure he's dead BUT he was a terrible person and the world is better off without him because he was so bad",  what you're saying is  "i don't want to LOOK like i'm happy but i'm happy".  And that's the left for you

How about just shut the f*ck up and not say anything at all?

Of course you can't do that because you celebrate Kirk's death just like muslim terrorists celebrate death.
