We're talking about AGW and instead of evidence you seem to think reasonable doubt can be based on things like your feelings about Trump or some compulsive need to slander people.

Your doubts are unreasonable to the point of being ridiculous.

As I've pointed out before, in your case in particular, you will happily fry the planet simply for the shits and giggles you get from the opportunity it gives you to stick it to libbies.

Cute...my resistance is based on Trump...to stick it to Libbies...how intellectually lazy of you.

I slander people when they deserve it. Not sure you've noticed but, I have a rather porous filter. I call a spade a spade. In this case, I conclude that our climate has undergone a slow warming trend and there appears to be a number of reasons.

Is there any evidence that panic is called for? No. Thus the population has figured it all out. That's what happens when you're caught fibbing regularly. You're credibility suffers. Especially when all your "solutions" do nothing to curb fossil fuels and cost way too much.

Thus is the "intellectual Libbie". All hot air...no real substance.

Oh...well then my apologies. I thought you were saying we hadn't discussed the general issue.

Ok so...the climate has warmed about 1.5 Celsius. Correct? How many predictions by politicians have come to pass? None? Florida is still there last I checked...

What's the risk? Longer growing seasons?

I started another thread about how to assess various mitigation approaches.

The rest of your post is about things we talked about before.

Looks like someone has a new patronizing catch phrase !

Don't fret about that.

Basically, I try, for the most part, to focus on a healthy public sphere which means good discussion. At the core, the problem is that various sides on important issues talk past each other.

So on here I try to get people to mostly focus on whether something is happening, and whether mitigating human activity is in the realm of reality.

That means when people say it's a conspiracy, that there are gross errors or incompetence on the science side... I try to find out where this came from.

And indeed most of the time the problem is not with the science but how it's reported and or discussed.

Let's continue on that other thread.

Ok Miss Canada.

If the Cultist Narrative Network/Cultist Broadcasting Corporation gave an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of typewriters, leftists would believe everything they typed.

I think I see where you are going but 'proof' isn't required to act against a perceived risk or threat.

Safety, as an example, comes to mind as an analogy: you don't need proof that an accident is going to happen to take safety measures.

Another angle is that large complex phenomenon can't be 'proved' in the way a mathematical theorem is.  You can't 'prove' smoking causes lung cancer, for example

Where to start...

Geez, I never figured you for a proponent of castle law.

TBH you have a point there though, regarding covid. We were never given a shred of proof that young, healthy Canadians stood to gain anything from a pseudovax, yet they were forced to take it.

But is that an example of what you're saying be good, or bad?

What you're talking about is "voluntary safety measures", and conflating it with "gov't-mandated measures".

You can wear a helmet to walk across the street if you want to, but right now the laws here don't compel you to.

FYI there's a threshold where a strong enough correlation actually does prove causation: statistics isn't as inexact a science as you seem to think.

At this point, I will ABSOLUTELY take the word of statisticians over "medical experts".

^This post is factually WRONG on several points, and you're so ignorant you STILL keep repeating them endlessly.

MAJOR COASTAL FLOODING for ONE, IGNORAMUS.

Another already demonstrated is many more very strong hurricanes and resulting FLOODING and WIND DAMAGE.

How close are those WILD FIRES to YOU? LMAO

100MPH WINDS have destroyed whole cities.

Need I go on? You will just forget, so it's not worth my time.

Historical Data:

Some studies of the Atlantic basin have not found strong evidence of an increase in major hurricane frequency or intensity over long periods (since the late 1800s).

Natural Variability:

Factors like El Niño and La Niña conditions, which are part of large-scale weather patterns, also impact hurricane activity over an entire season.

How many Category 5 hurricanes in the last 25 years? Most EVER.

List of Category 5 Atlantic hurricanes

Officially, the decade with the most Category 5 hurricanes is 2000–2009, with eight Category 5 hurricanes having occurred: Isabel (2003), Ivan (2004), Emily ( ...

To stop traffic and set cars on fire.

What did you do after, wave the Ukraine flag on a freeway overpass?

I ate breakfast. Warmed up the boat, then went to work.

There're no cars out here and the nearest overpass is well over a hundred miles away.

I take it you're still curled up in the back seat of your car.

Definitely salty, yup.

Apparently woke still hasn't caught up with our industry. It would probably drive Tim and Rachel bonkers. Unless I'm mistaken Rachel's an Admiral too isn't it?
