I don’t think anyone in America actually cares that Trump fires his rival’s appointees.

What’s nuts is you think you will actually get real numbers from a Trump appointee.

Well to get to dictater 1001 he's got a long way to go, although it is statistically possible.

One could suppose the outcome would depend on who's managing the statistics.

You don't know what you're talking about. As stated in the original thread, this is right out the authoritarian playbook.

No ONE who has a brain wants a leader who shoots the messenger instead of FIXING THE PROBLEM.

And now, just like with the pandemic, Trump will IGNORE the problem instead of changing course.

Don't fool yourself, whoever it is will do what Trump says if he wants to keep his job. 🤮

Let's say I agree with your assesment, why would it matter? Good numbers are always good for the stock market.

It seems to be a MAGA trait that the truth doesn’t matter.

There’s more nuance to this.  This particular person inflated jobs numbers for many months during the Biden administration, some say in an effort to help them with re-election.  This particular person ended up having to revise down almost a million jobs that had had supposedly been created during the Biden/Harris term.  This person now apparently overestimated job numbers at a time when many were hiking that the federal reserve would cut interest rates.  They ended up not cutting rates based on these job numbers.  If this particular persons numbers were accurate over the last few months, the federal reserve most likely would have cut interest rates, significantly helping the economy, as rates are still high.

You don't know ANYTHING about how BLS gets that data.

They do POLLING and the Commissioner has NOTHING TO DO with POLLING.

She takes the data GIVEN HER and REPORTS IT. Duh

Trump fired HER because the statistics show his wreckless policies are tanking the economy

There’s no evolution to support any of these claims and it would be virtually impossible for anyone to do that. Try thinking about these things before you mindlessly repeat them

She was a Biden hire, therefore she was a DEI hire, which means she was not to be trusted. She probably f*cked with the data to make Trump look bad.

But now she's gone, so we can all take a step back and breathe a sigh of relief: Yet one more piece of shit remnant from the previous administration has been scrubbed out.

Well I think this is terrible if you should never have done that and I agree with you that it shoots the confidence in the system even if somehow a person gets into provides legitimate data.

Having said that, when I pointed out the very obvious dishonesty in that exact same office when it came making biden  look good every single leftist on this board screamed to the high heavens that it wasn't possible!!! that the office was independent!!!  that there COUDLDN"T be ANY interference!!! That it was stupid to suggest it!!!! That we should just let them do their jobs and not even question!!!!!!!!!!

:)

well.  How much do you think i care to hear about how you think this may result in 'unbalanced' figures?

And here we have about the 120th example of where the left was perfectly happy with bad behavior as long as the Democrats were doing it but now expect people to be outraged if the republicans do the same thing.

I have no idea how you possibly can think people are going to give a flying fig when the left so ardently insisted that this kind of behavior was perfectly fine when they were doing it

Maybe start with integrity on your side of the fence and when you're calling out bad behavior of your own political leaning then you can criticize others

There actually is quite a bit of evidence to support that. And it was mentioned at the time and gone into in fair detail, and you and many like you said that it was absolutely impossible for that office to be biased.

Well back in your face. There's no evidence to suggest that the new person trump hires will be biased in any way shape or form. So the office must be beyond questioning same as it was under biden

And once again the left is getting slapped with his own behavior. Instead of raising concerns when it was happening with The people you support you insisted that it be normalized and now you're scratching your head wondering why other people aren't getting upset now that the other side is doing it?

Dishonest and play dishonest games and then be shocked and angered when the other side decides that it's done with playing by the rules as well

Just like when Trump demanded to stop testing for COVID because the number of cases was too high for his CAMPAIGN ADVANTAGE. 🤮

Sure. How about something Biden also found out, people had no faith in his version of how the economy was doing because it was doing like crap and people knew it. That will be true under trump as well, he can pretend employment is whatever he wants but either people will know that they have a job or they will know that they don't have a job and the state of economy will be fairly obvious.

But it bothers me immensely to see the left pretend like this is something we should care about when they spent so much energy defending the same practices under the previous administration

I said it a thousand times back then and I'll say it again, you cannot expect other people to hold themselves to a higher standard than you hold your own people. If you tolerate lying and cheating and dishonesty and lawfare and weaponizing the doj and intelligence apparatus and all of that stuff then that will be used against you and it will be too late to complain. Same goes for Canada.

The dems spent the last 4 years effing around. Now they are finding out and the lesson isn't particularly palatable for anyone. The left has made politics a race to the bottom.
