Ignoring the MAGA Hyenas

One of the forum's best features, is the "ignore" function. When I see a post about their Orange God, I will give my 2 cents. Since we are dealing with a cult, all the hyenas start posting nonsense. What I have done, is put most of them on "ignore," so I can browse to a converse with a rational poster, like @Radiorum or others and have a civil conversation.  However at time, if I want to see their reply, I just click their post, and it opens. 

There have been occasions, when I notice 12 posts in a row from the MAGA hyenas, and I avoid the contents of their posts. The forum experience is far more pleasant this way.

yes, there are some responses that deserved to be ignored. I stop short of using the "ignore" function, however, because "free speech" and all that.

But I do notice that the prime motivation for some on the right seems to be to yank someone's chain, rather than to present a considered position. It's almost like they think they are living vicariously through Trump. They are attracted to his ugly show of power, and try to emulate it. It's a rather fascinating sociological tendency.

Here is a example. @herbie posts, and the hyenas were not thrilled. I am not sure what they were saying, but I did not have to sift through a dozen posts of drivel.

Honestly, I'm glad that you ignore me. I really am. That leaves my voice unchallenged while you are challenged and unresponsive. That means those 3rd party readers that we don't see, view me as reasonable and you as....well....you.

The ignore feature is extremely lame unless against spam bots or unmoderated trolls.

I think it's important to bear witness to their douchbaggery. To desensitize ones self to their presence and thus strengthen the fortitude needed to coexist with such people in the world without being moved to kneejerk reactions. And to understand the ideas that motivate their lemming-like movement.

The reality is that folks on the left almost exclusively use this feature to hide from people who consistently call them out for the lies they post or other bad arguments. 

In my case, DUI got tired of me destroying his lies, posting links and evidence to back it up, so he ran away.

What i want to know is why are the right wingers here so lifeless and lacking in any sense of human personality?

I've been on forums since the 90s and even the conservative ones typically have personalities. I have on more than one occasion wondered whether these guys are actual real people.

as an American citizen, I am not bound to obey the President, only the Constitution as I see fit

Some of us can trace back our ancestry in North America before there was the United States. On my parental side, we settled in New York (unsure if it was the city, or somewhere in the state), during the 17th century. I'm under the assumption my ancestors were loyalists, considering that the relocated to Ontario, a couple of years after the War of Independence, and have resided in Canada (British North America at the time) since.

 

I am certainly not abandoning Canada, when times get tough.

I'm not sure what you think people's motivations for outright lying would be on an anonymous internet forum, but you're not going to have good-faith debates when accusing people of deliberate deception is so often your opening move.

I initially gave some folks the benefit of the doubt, but when the continue to do it over and over again and outright ignore linked evidence copied and pasted and presented to them... they are just liars.
