“I actually feel good, I don't really care. I hope the rich people in the foothills around Denver have their houses burn next. Minneapolis and Chicago can burn too. They're not my country they're at best occupiers when their side is in power and I don't mind nature's wrath coming down on them. The northeast can be wiped out by a tsunami. Not my country, not a place I care about, they're actively trying to destroy my way of life, good riddance.”

How did we get here?

The hatred also seems to be a reaction based on misinformation. Trump himself spread a lot of it.

They still have not disbursed the 1.75 million dollars of emergency funding that is supposed to help people with housing, emergency shelter and supporting the businesses that flooded to their rooftops. [The truth: FEMA has distributed $32 million to NC and was going door to door to connect people with financial assistance]

Trump has never had any love for his opponents. And like most of his nonsense there's a few kernels of truth in there. They really did not do what they needed to do to prevent this even though they were warned it would be coming or at least a possibility. But having said that sometimes things like this just happened. This is why we have insurance.

I think it's inappropriate for others to be taking Glee in the misfortune of others. I think that's relatively tacky and shouldn't be smiled upon at all.

However I would point out that there were a large number of lefties on this board who are clapping and cheering when a man was gunned down in the streets and cold blood just because he worked for a company you guys didn't like.
