It's not so much that they hate america . If america would do what they tell it to do they'd be fine with it. But - they LOVE their vision of a socialist paradise where all wealth is distributed and everyone thinks exactly the same way and that way is their way. That world is not possible if the current american institutions are still in place. The current 'america' allows for freedom and individual rights that supercede the needs of the state and a bunch of other things that block the utopia entirely. So - they NEED people to hate the current america. It's not enough to hate it themselves, they NEED for EVERYONE to hate it because otherwise nobody will want to tear it down and start again. It's one of the fundimental differences between the right and the left - for the most part, people on the right worry about what they think about various issues and what they're going to do.
