Climate crisis is a farce.

Hmm. Let's think about it:
Whenever a coal miner died of lung cancer
Whenever anyone ran their car in a closed garage
When London go so black and smoggy they were forced to abandon coal heat
When that African lake farted and suffocated thousands
Whenever there's a forest fire and you breathe the smoke
Whenever your furnace or stove doesn't burn it completely
Whenever you don't check before going into a cable or other underground vault

Yes every 6 yr old knows life is carbon based, but that makes for the stupidest argument ever against stopping climate change. Like the but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China but China one.......

You talk like a six year old. Well duh. Indeed, carbon would kill anyone if they are caught having to breathe in carbon only.

But can you write down just one more time "but China" again so I will then know as to what you are trying to say here. ??

I think we all need to be cognizant of the fact that a lot of foreign interests benefit greatly from our attacks on our own energy sector.

When we stop burning coal, China buys our coal up for cheap and they burn it.

When we stop using gas cars, we use batteries to power our cars, 90% of whose rare-earth minerals come from Chinese companies.

When we stop producing gas and oil, we help raise the price of gas and oil sold by foreign interests.

When we create wind farms and buy solar panels, we buy all of that stuff from foreign countries. Meanwhile, they emit 20x as much carbon as we do.

All of the proponents of the above are against nuclear energy, and foreign interests don't profit from nuclear power plants here. Hmmmmmm...

There is a plan, has been for quite a few years now, to "equalize" the fuel costs between North America and Europe. In 1992 the price of a litre of gas for the Skoda I had at the time, was equivalent to a buck. Our costs here at that time was about half that.

This greenie thing has tentacles everywhere.

You call this bull-chit ?

Or this is all fake news?

Or maybe the word "unprecedented" in your vocabulary has some weird new meaning?

Yep, go see your doctor and do it soon.

I know that those pictures you posted happened. We see many incidents like above happen all over the world. But this does not have to mean that it is all due to climate change. How do you know that it is all due to climate change? Are you a scientist?

Well duh. All natural disasters are not unprecedented because they happen all over the world every day of every year. It's just that the MSM is trying to hype up sentiment in trying to get fools like you all into a false panic into believing that climate change is causing all those floods and fires. Just how the hell would you know that anyways?

I will go to see my doctor after you go see your doctor first. Let me know as to what your results are okay.  LOL.

No, we were talking about carbon.  And honestly i can't tell you why.  Too much carbon dioxide will kill you as well.  but your point seemed to be that carbon itself never hurt anyone.  It does.

Quote

You are alive because of the carbon in the air. Well duh. If one sits in a room with no oxygen available, yes indeed, they will die. So, what's your point?

You're the one who brought it up. You tell me what the point is.

Quote

There is no fear from having too much carbon in the air. Nature will not allow it. Nature will grow more plant and tree life, if necessary, to get rid of and suck up all of the excessive carbon in the air.

Absolutely untrue.

There is a balance in nature that must persist the same at all times.

And given the number of extinction level events the earth has gone through i'd think you'd realize the balance is pretty easy to upset.

I do not fear carbon but what I do fear are liars like Al Gore who constantly lies about a global warming crisis happening. I guess this is how Gore made his millions. By lying. ?

I'd be a little concerned about both.  Global climate chane is a real thing.  Al gore is a psychotic sociopath who will repeat any lie if it gets him what he wants, which is usually money and power.

Well of course to you I am just rambling on. But it is IMHO that you are the one that is rambling on here with much to say about nothing. Touche. LOL.

In a free country like canada, you're entitled to be wrong as much as you like :)  .

Life should be simple. It's just that our politicians and the lying MSM always makes the effort to try very hard to make life not so simple and tries to make life for us all miserable. Eat that, fella.

Nobody buys a newspaper or votes for someone because everything's going swell.  It's a sad fact.

The world is not going to end in death and fire by 2030 like some suggest (looking at you AOC.  Staaaaaaaarrre)

At the same time we're having an effect and we should do what we can to mitigate that effect, and adopt to the changes that will likley come, and eventually move to cleaner energy as the tech allows us to.

Sure. if you're going to cross a chasm it's wise to wait till the bridge is finished :)

When and as the tech allows, we'll transition. Putting energy into developing that tech is probably wise.  In the meantime, focus on what we can do which is mostly adaption and mitigation.

I can't advocate for adoption and mitigation if it means poor folk pay the piper. Just can't. Its unnecessary.

Doesn't have to.  But it does mean  things like increasing our forest fire/forest management budgets. Using solar power hydro  etc where it's practical to do so to offset carbon fuel use. That kind of thing.

Possibly some other programs.  Right now in bc they're giving low income older people free air conditioners to protect against heat bubbles. We don't get heat bubbles every year but now if there's an extreme heat event they're protected.  That's adaption, doing things to say "for whatever reason the weather is different right now and lets adapt and move on".

Of course cougar isn't a scientist, but science is for sale and right now the big money is in climate fear porn. Cougar can find articles that tickle his confirmation bias 24/7.

Actual climatologists, and there are a lot of them, who don't push climate fear porn, are completely ignored by the MSM, just like Drs who didn't push vax-Naziism were.

If anyone ever doubted that the MSM was complete BS, just look at the covid coverage from the last 3 years. We set a record for covid deaths in 2022, almost 90% were among the multi-vaxed, and our MSM wouldn't touch the topic of covid deaths with a 10' pole.

15,000 covid deaths in 2020: "HOSPITALS ARE BEING OVERRUN! IT'S THE APOCALYPSE!"

14,000 covid deaths in 2021: "FORCE EVERYONE TO VAX! CRUSH PROTESTS! WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE IF WE DON'T VAX EVERYONE!"

19,000 covid deaths in 2022: "The economy is booming because of Biden's brilliance. We need to focus on climate change. That's basically all that's happening in the world right now."

That's not what's happening though. The climate cultists want the destruction of the fossil fuel industry.

We don't just supplement the energy grid, we actively discourage the use of the primary source of energy with dumb-ass taxation and restrictions. This raises fuel costs which in turn creates inflation.

The flood was either caused by a dam that broke open because of a massive amount of water building up behind the dam or the dam was purposely blown up. I prefer to believe the latter. It's just the conspiracy in me that believes so. ?

As far as I am concerned, you have no legitimacy yourself. Nice talking to you. ?

So, what are you driving today? Just wondering.

And I do agree with you on one thing. Al Gore is a now a rich psycho and lying sob who has gotten rich from suckers who believed his lies about global warming. His prediction about Miami being under water by the year 2020 did not happen, and he knew that it was never going to happen. Anyone who listens to those doom and gloom climate crazies are themselves crazy. ?

Covid was the most biggest con job ever perpetrated on mankind. It was not about a virus. It was all about pushing a vaccine that was going to make big pharma richer than ever. Millions of people were injured by the covid vaccine, and tens of thousands more died from the vaccine. And now they are trying to push the bull crap that we are in another covid like dilemma now called the climate crisis. When the MSM tries to push anything to try and cause fear and panic in people, then that is when I go the exact opposite to their lies. I find that it works all the time. It was all just plain bull chit. ?

OK...that's true. So...with only this to back-up the claims that we MUST IMMEDIATELY stop using fossil fuels...regardless of the cost and hardship that movement imposes on all of us...

Can you or anyone justify any of these greenie actions?

I also have never read anything that stated "we MUST IMMEDIATELY stop using fossil fuels".

I have read that fossil fuel is a prime contributor but that there are other factors as well.

There are fanatics on both sides making claims but, as with all fanaticism, the truth is somewhere in the middle. Both sides are evident in this thread.

The obverse to you, can you or anyone justify any of these anti climate change claims actions?

The cost in Canuckland:

Quote

GOOGLE: Canadian carbon tax cost to Canadians

The first carbon tax the government introduced will end up costing Canadians up to 41¢ per litre of gas. The added second carbon tax will cost another 17¢ per litre. Adding GST, this comes to 61¢ per litre.

What is the carbon tax on heating in Ontario?

The carbon tax increases the cost of furnace oil by 17 cents per litre and propane by 10 cents per litre. Natural gas costs an extra 12 cents per cubic metre. The average household in Ontario uses about 2,046 litres of furnace oil per year. That means the carbon tax will cost an extra $348 for winter heat.

Internationally:

Quote

How much is the carbon tax in Germany?

Germany will lift a levy on polluting fossil fuels used in housing and transportation to €40 ($44) per ton in 2024 and to €50 in 2025, a political compromise that pushes some of the additional costs of decarbonizing further into the future.

THUS:

Germany has created a "gas replacement reserve" with a total capacity of 11.6 GW. This includes 1.9 GW of lignite and 4.3 GW of hard coal power plants which are allowed to return to the market until 2024

The UN - Instill fear and panic:

Every person, in every country in every continent will be impacted in some shape or form by climate change. There is a climate cataclysm looming, and we are underprepared for what this could mean.

Climate change is caused by human activities and threatens life on earth as we know it. With rising greenhouse gas emissions, climate change is occurring at rates much faster than anticipated. Its impacts can be devastating and include extreme and changing weather patterns and rising sea levels.

If left unchecked, climate change will undo a lot of the development progress made over the past years. It will also provoke mass migrations that will lead to instability and wars.

The UN - Plan:

To address climate change, we have to vastly raise our ambition at all levels. Much is happening around the world – investments in renewable energy have soared. But more needs to be done. The world must transform its energy, industry, transport, food, agriculture and forestry systems to ensure that we can limit global temperature rise to well below 2°C, maybe even 1.5°C. In December 2015, the world took a significant first step by adopting the Paris Agreement, in which all countries committed to take action to address climate change. However, more actions are critically needed in order to meet the targets.

(Just an observation but...the UN does NOT discuss the cost of this...plan...sketchy as it is)

The Climate Cult:

image.thumb.png.268831454b8df2b01b9ee686c4d3f150.png

THIS is the climate death-cult in action. Not only a war on fossil fuels but a DEMAND by world leaders to force fossil fuels off the markets. And all this BEFORE we can even talk about any sort of realistic replacement. This is either the dumbest decision world leaders have ever made...or the most evil.

Not sure what your point is???

It does not prove or say anything about "we MUST IMMEDIATELY stop using fossil fuels." nor anything about "justify any of these greenie actions".

Carbon taxes are just another tax, yes, they are to lessen fossil fuel usage but, hardly a "death cult action" LOL. As much as an anti pollution action as anything.

Realistic replacement? Being discussed and talked about all over the world all the time.

Why dumb?? It was an anti pollution action long before it became a climate change thing, it is a good thing. Pollution is a major problem world wide and fossil fuel is the major contributor.

"A carbon tax could discourage the use of fossil fuels and encourage a shift to less-polluting fuels, thereby limiting the carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions that are by far the most prevalent greenhouse gas. "
