the government is deciding who is suffering.

Wait a sec….   So you’re good with people getting doctor assisted suicide if the government doesn’t make the rules?  So you prefer that it’s open to anyone then?

I don't make rules for you to follow or else.

You’re not making sense.  You think people should be able to end their life.  You don’t think government should regulate it. Therefor, it would be open to anyone for any reason, correct?

I believe in free will. You, not so much. If I want to end my own life...that's fine as long as my affairs are in order and I don't leave a bloody mess for my wife to find.

The government is dangerous as I mention as while appearing benevolent at times, the last thing I want is for them to decide or influence such a decision either way. Once they have that power to muck about, they'll use it. Next comes a dark place...I'm warning...

So, if I want to have a doctor to help end my life because I don’t like the colour green, that’s ok with you, as long as the government has no say in it?

I agree with this.

Trudeau has already shown that the right to bodily autonomy means nothing to him and he can and will take that basic human right away as he sees fit.

Doctor-assisted death is being offered and being done to all kinds of people who should never receive it.  Roger Foley is prime example.  The hospital ethicist felt $1500 a day was too much money to spend on a guy like Roger Foley and saw a way how he could do the ultimate money-saving measure if he could convince Roger to take the lethal injection.

quote

The story comes only days after a  widely circulated Associated Press feature broke revelations about a patient in London, Ont., who was similarly given an unprompted offer of euthanasia.

Roger Foley suffers from a degenerative brain disorder and claimed he was being offered euthanasia so regularly that he began secretly recording hospital staff. In one recording obtained by AP, a hospital ethicist tells Foley his care is costing the hospital “north of $1,500 a day” and asks if he has “an interest in assisted dying.”

The two incidents add to a growing list of controversial cases in which Canadians with chronic conditions were offered death in lieu of treatment.

B.C. woman Donna Duncan was approved for a medically assisted death last year after years of declining mental health exacerbated by a chronic inability to access psychiatric care.

Duncan’s death in an Abbotsford hospital so blindsided her family that they reported the case to the Abbotsford Police. “While we have been advocates of death by Medical Assistance in situations where there is a terminal diagnosis or death is imminent, we had no idea that Canada’s laws leave considerable room for interpretation by activist doctors,” they wrote in a statement at the time.

Another British Columbian, Alan Nichols, was euthanized only days after his family brought him to a Chilliwack hospital to recover from a psychiatric episode. Despite Nichols’ history of severe mental illness and suicidal tendencies, he was approved for death by health authorities after only four days in the hospital’s psychiatric ward.

Another case of a sick Canadian offered death instead of treatment — this time, a veteran (msn.com)

Those of us who don't believe in this kind of thing must never concede to any part of it and must continue to expose the evils that are happening in a calm, collected way.

Except, that approach opens the doors wide open and anyone can get MAID for any reason.

Indeed true. Trudeau and his fascist cabal thought nothing of ruining the lives of entire families including children. They didn't care one bit.

The case of the Abbotsford woman being given doctor-assisted death and her family, who reported it to the police without success, would be a case that should be investigated in depth.  The family claimed they had no idea that the MAID law left considerable latitude for activist doctors.  That is a frightening thought.  To think activist pro death doctors could order death for anyone in the most doubtful circumstances is something to ponder.

There may be a lesson in this as well.  Be aware what kind of doctor you have.  You never know when your life may depend on it.  The problem is of course it is almost impossible to know what any doctor believes and what he would do in certain situations.  This whole MAID program puts unbelievable power in doctor's hands, power that nobody should ever have.

So, you want assisted death completely deregulated?  Like abortion?

And the alternative leaves the doors wide open for governments to introduce population-control type legislation, and for doctors to "nudge" patients along towards MAID.

I probably would not have been concerned with possible malfeasance on the part of the government until our right to bodily autonomy and to make our own medical decisions was stripped from us by this government.  So I don't' trust them any longer. They have demonstrated they have no respect for basic human rights.  If they can force you to be part of a medical experiment by holding your job or other basic rights in society over your head, they could easily use loose MAID regulations to "nudge" the disabled or mentally ill and their families towards death and the Canadian public (in general) has shown they are quite easily led by emotionally-packed fearporn.

Perhaps a medical establishment could create some regulations?  Although they have willingly gone along with governmental overreach too.....

I dont' know what the answer is.  But I do support MAID, to the extent I've seen it used by some, in my experience.

Right…. So this person was very ill and wanted to die….   just because you don’t like it, doesn’t mean people shouldn’t have the choice.

Your not going to change your mind or position, and if your OK with people with mental illness being allowed to sign up or someone else signing them up, or the fact that some of these examples did not follow any of the guide lines your putting so much faith. the guy with the hearing problem was granted in just 4 days...I know he had serious hearing loss...and his mental health was perfectly normal.

I wonder if this was you son or daughter , would you be so agreeable...Having a serious condition that is extremely painful is on the list and should be, the rest depression, mental illness not ok.

Not to mention some patients are being asked to sign up as cost savings for the medical hospital, thats not in the requirements and yet it is being reported.

We, the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have now done so much for so long with so little, we are now capable of doing anything with nothing.

That is wrong, IMO.

No one should be told they are a burden on society or on their loved ones.

let that be a harsh lesson

every single person who works for the Government of Canada now, is a Communist traitor

fit for the yardarm

the Government of Canada is literally evil

the people who work for the government are all infected by it

they hate veterans, they view all veterans as a threat, so of course they want to kill them

all I say to the brothers is,  stop looking to these people for help

these Bolshevik lunatics are the mortal enemies of our soldiers, and always have been

do not look to these cowards, sycophants, cronies & traitors in government for assistance

it's a trap

for they serve the Prince of Darkness himself

I'm saying you should get your grubby paws off. I wouldn't want you near anybody affected.

Your view on this is completely incoherent.  But that’s on purpose, isn’t it?  You know it’s inconsistent and can’t answer a relatively simple question in a straightforward way.

The Nazis were busy convincing themselves they were being humane when they did it to the mentally ill. By the time they were shooting people in pits, they had to keep the executioners blind drunk to hold up morale lest they commit suicide. The evil men do as Shakespeare says...
