From Cite:

that 55% fell into the mask-wearing category; 20% stated that they wear one “always, everywhere I go,” and 35% wear one “most of the time, anywhere that I know there will be people around.”

55% does not equal 99%, math wizard (not!).

And when you add in the people that wear the mask some of the time?  LOL!

Many protestors also wear maskts.

Your link indicates 13% never do. So at the very best it's 87%.

And extra 32% seldom do. That's a nebulous statistic. I seldom wear a mask because I rarely go into indoor public places. I'm mostly at home, in my car at work and outside. I've even stopped going to the gym, even though I technically can now.

You can't really debate this issue without comparing how Canada and Europe have responded and how the US has. The differences can't really be more stark.

But many protesters don't.

Ok, so almost 90%, and this poll is from a while ago, it's probably even higher now.

Regardless, I'm still not sure what your point is.  The vast majority of Canadians are sacrificing.

The point is, it's not a HUGE! sacrifice. Especially considering it enables the economy to open much quicker. It's just something we have to do to lower the infection rate.

But there are people who won't do it because they feel it infringes on their rights. The same people probably won't quibble with a business having a dress code.

Some of the time was "select places", which likely means "where I'm forced to".  Even including them, its not 99%.

Realistically, 55% of people wear masks regularly enough to be effective, 45% do not and 13% probably throw a hissy fit when asked to mask.

I didn't say it was a huge sacrifice.  I simply replied to another comment stating that Canadians have and are sacrificing.

That's just not true.  Even if somebody wears a mask only when their out in public in a place that they can't socially distant, masks are still effective.  You just don't know what you're talking about.

Cite.

Wearing masks significantly reduces the level of water droplet dispersal.

They work in tandem, but there are instances where social distancing is not always possible.

You don't know what you're talking about either.  The whole point of distancing is to be beyond the point of droplet dispersal.  Masks are needed when that's not possible, but can be worn at all times.  Do you guys know anything about the science?  That's why they say 6 feet apart, and not 3 feet or 8 feet, or 1 foot.  /facepalm

I'm not sure what you mean by we're all in this together.

The opposite of everyone for themselves.

A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.

It's somewhere between beer and popcorn.

Actually, the 6 feet is the distance within which larger droplets fall to the ground, because - gravity.  Smaller droplets (aerosols) can travel significantly farther, especially if from coughing or sneezing.  They can also hang in the air longer than a few minutes, even up to hours.

What they say is wear a mask when you can't social distance. It's in the ads!

But, of course, you know more than public health officials.

Yes, and so what?  Does that mean that wearing masks only when you're in close confines somehow doesn't have an effect?  Of course not.  That's absurd.

Exactly what I said.  When you can't social distance.  Are you purposely being obtuse?  So even if somebody only wears a mask during those times, it's still going to have some impact.  Your premise that it wouldn't is patently false.

That's very subjective.

Okay...try visualizing a bunch of people in a boat all paddling in different directions.

I think only total idiots wear a mask all the time...Its kinda like trying to buy insurance for everything and then a flood hits and your not covered!!!!

I observe that people that wear masks social distance less. Maybe because they feel protected by the mask...All I'm saying is these things are really hard to quantify.

The Left tries to shame people with emotions and all I care about is facts!!!

WOW, good pep talk coach , shit even I'm depressed now...Somehow i think you missed Queens message... Just curious where is the line in the sand for you, while fighting this virus.

I don't understand how it would make you depressed. Didnt mean it to. In fact the opposite. I've seen people wither and die a little each day, to a point none of us would ever want to be. If you've seen it you will know what I mean.

The question was whether or not a person can die with dignity. QM says no. I strongly disagree.

So maybe QM hasn't seen what I've seen, and lived a lucky life. Good for him. I see no reason to feel sorry or depressed about that.

- I better relate it back to the topic. Sorry boss.
