Covid Is Turning Us Into a Socialist/Fascist Country

The US is not trying to "clamp down"...it is trying to continue reopening the economy, schools, and other activities with the virus still being spread.

That's going poorly as well because the virus is so rampant.

Several States have had to slow/stall re-opening efforts and can't commit to re-opened.

So what your saying is that since the building is already on fire, let's just dump some more gas on it?

Like I said earlier they are still adding regular deaths to the toll.

You can interpret that however you want. I won't try to make you be reasonable.

I picked the most current day

Which day was that?  According to data on the site posted by Boges the last few days deaths were recorded at 1123, 467, 567.

In fact, it looks like you would have to go back to March 23 to find a daily death rate as low as 209.

Why does every topic need to be redirected to Trump and the United States?  Some of you people really need help with your derangement.  Seriously.

Because they're really the only nation where COVID-19 is a dire issue.

Canada is recording less new cases per day than the US is recording deaths. Usually by half!

Actions seen in Canada like mask mandates and a slow phased re-opening approach are a direct reaction to seeing how the US approach has failed.

Who keeps track?  One just goes where the argument goes.

Slowing down is not stopping...nobody is "clamping down", whatever that means.

The virus is rampant...that's why it is called a pandemic.

Sure...and it always goes to...Trump !

I don't remember mentioning him.  But then, I've been watching the Cricket and the Snooker as well so maybe I haven't been concentrating.

Good...live your life...no need to worry so much about Trump.

Trump is the president of a completely different country.

Like I said, I don't remember mentioning him.  I certainly don't worry about him.

But that said, his location doesn't make any difference.  News is news, regardless of where it originates.  And news about Trump is always entertaining.  Spectacularly so, sometimes.

It's many places it's not anymore. The "clamp downs" are to keep it that way so places don't see what's happening in the US.

The US and several other nations are not "clamped down".  Sorry if you don't like that, but each jurisdiction will determine what it wants to do.

Liberty means more in the U.S. than in Canada.

Also helps the "not American" defined Canadian identity  (except for those Canadians who refuse to drink the socialist-fascist Kool-Aid®).

Then why is the usa dropping in the freedom index?  Canada is ranked 5th, 10 places above the u.s.  ^_^

Because such indexes emphasize socialist attributes.

The U.S. remains the #1 preferred destination for immigrants...for over 100 years.

For some, Canada is just a stepping stone to the USA.
