Only because you choose to extend what I say into the absurd realm where you reside.

That's just the chip on your shoulder reflecting the absurdly dismal view you right-wingers generally have of everything.  And in actual fact the realm I've found myself in is so blessedly idyllic it's almost surreal.  It looks like I'm being forced into retirement early but everything's going to turn out just fine. Sorry but thank you very much anyway.

Or haven't you noticed... you are the one saying the most ridiculous things here.

The ONLY one?  That's hilarious considering some of the characters you seem to share an affinity with around here.

But I'll bite what have I said that's so ridiculous.  I mean I get it that you think otherwise but I get the sense from a lot of people that I'm actually pretty well-respected for the intelligent ideas and things I add to this forum.  All you seem to do is grumble a lot.

It's going to be a depressing Fourth of July weekend down South.

States like Texas and California are in a bad spot right now. Hospitalizations saturation will lead to a spike in deaths.

I don't see an avenue out unless they go back to total Shutdown. And it doesn't seem they have the political appetite for that.

Damn Florida!

Is this NBA Bubble thing even going to happen?

The Florida Department of Health is reporting 10,109 additional coronavirus cases, bringing the state total to 169,106, according to data released by the state.

Today's numbers mark a new record daily high of infections in the state of Florida since the start of the pandemic. The previous record was set on Saturday, when the start reported just more than 9,500 new cases.

The collective hive mind has decided we cannot be free, based on the assumption we are a danger to ourselves and others simply by being near a person.

They do not have any actual authority, only that there is no one with the courage to stand up and say, "enough, you damned fools!"

Although I hear that quite a few Germans have been having their say -

Even earlier that night, the police had already come under attack elsewhere, in the central German city of Göttingen. The previous Thursday, local authorities there had enforced quarantine at several high-rises to contain Covid outbreaks; the buildings were surrounded by temporary construction site fencing and patrolled by baton-wielding officers.

On Saturday, up to 200 of the 700 estimated residents armed themselves with pieces of bottles, metal rods, stones and fireworks and tried to break through the fences and out of quarantine. Police stopped them by using teargas, including on children, to contain the breakout. In that case, one man was arrested and eight police were injured.

Nice. Germany is handling this well, you say? Now we see how they do that. Certainly, Nazi's are good at containing large numbers of people. As are the communists...

I went everywhere I wanted to today.  Wore a mask because I wanted to.  I managed to do all of my shopping without throwing anything at anyone, and never saw a baton, nor smelled any teargas.

Have you actually tried hollering that in the supermarket yet?  I'm assuming you've heard of Howard Beale.

Don't forget to mention the Nazis and communists - adds a nice touch.

Here is a nasty example. The coming hard-lockdowns.

Quote

About 3,000 people in nine public housing estates in Melbourne, Australia, were put under what the state premier called a "hard lockdown" on Saturday evening, after a spike of cases in the city.

Residents will not be allowed to leave their homes, after Covid-19 cases were discovered in the densely populated blocks. Police have been stationed outside the tower to enforce the order.

Everybody in the towers will be tested except those who have already returned a positive result, said Victorian State Premier Daniel Andrews, adding that those who refuse to be tested would be risking an extension to the lockdown.

The lockdown was imposed on Saturday night, giving residents little notice. Abdirahman Ibrahim, a father-of-five, told CNN affiliate SBS he learned about the lockdown on the evening news, giving him no time to stockpile food for his children.

On Sunday morning local time, Andrews said residents would be provided with free rent and financial support. He acknowledged that many residents of the public housing units were in "poor health” and that “this is not going to be a pleasant experience."

“There has been an enormous amount of work going on right throughout the night to provide food, essentials and support,” Andrews said, listing medical, psychological, drug, alcohol and family violence support services on offer.

But Emma King, CEO of chief executive officer of Victoria Council of Social Services, said the lockdown would "scare many people, and trigger memories of past trauma."

CNN

Article states 23 people infected in 9 towers. That averages less than 3/ tower. For this number they are now all locked in a prison type environment.

Drunk again, eh?

Not me, but what's it going to take to compel you to test the courage of your convictions in public intestinal fortitude, a bottle of vodka or a slow stroll down a crowded beach in the UK?

A prison type environment where "inmates" needs will be provided for - food, rent and a range of public services.  You'd have a case if the keys to this "prison" were thrown away, people were left to fend for themselves and guards were shooting anyone who tried to escape.  It doesn't look like fun but neither does it look like the Warsaw Ghetto.

Get a grip.

The case for airborne transmission grows stronger, despite the WHO's stubborn resistance and reluctance to change previous guidance for fear of even more criticism and push back.   Just add this to a long list of COVID squabbling by the "experts".....

Quote

239 Experts With 1 Big Claim: The Coronavirus Is Airborne

The coronavirus is finding new victims worldwide, in bars and restaurants, offices, markets and casinos, giving rise to frightening clusters of infection that increasingly confirm what many scientists have been saying for months: The virus lingers in the air indoors, infecting those nearby.

...The World Health Organization has long held that the coronavirus is spread primarily by large respiratory droplets that, once expelled by infected people in coughs and sneezes, fall quickly to the floor.

But in an open letter to the WHO, 239 scientists in 32 countries have outlined the evidence showing that smaller particles can infect people and are calling for the agency to revise its recommendations. The researchers plan to publish their letter in a scientific journal.

That’s not a prison you’re describing, is it.

Another odd development with respect to starting schools in the fall...at least one province (Quebec) is following the U.S. CDC's guidelines because none have been forthcoming from Canada's PHAC / federal government.

Karina Roman: Parents, provinces call on Ottawa to help ensure schools open in the fall

The school boards expected to implement provincial school reopening plans have reported a lack of national guidelines. In the U.S., education falls under state jurisdiction — but that didn't stop the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) from issuing national recommendations on how to safely reopen schools.

"Our association found it a bit curious that the government of Canada did not come out with guidelines," said Russell Copeman, executive director of the Quebec English School Boards Association. He said the association ended up using the CDC's guidelines.

No its you alluding to even worse given the context of the Nazis you mentioned a few posts back.

Like I said, get a grip.

Actually it’s a great story, 3000 people held in indefinite detention, fencing, armed guards.

The tenants organized themselves and gathered makeshift weaponry, to try and break out and escape.

Police were ready and responded in pretty brutal fashion.

You wouldn’t have even known this was going on unless I posted it here You shut up. I will say what I like, as it’s on topic.

Meanwhile your content is about as interesting as one might hear at special-ed class...

How would we know this story and content of your's isn't just more horsehit since you haven't posted anything to substantiate it?  Careful now, last time you tried that your own source undermined you when you failed to notice efforts were being made to care for people's needs caught in this lockdown

But sure I can see how people might react violently if this detention were as indefinite and brutal as you say. As for indefinite, your last cite probably already underscores you're talking thru your ass or did you miss the part where it said authorities were also testing people under lockdown?  Now if a negative test means squat and negatives are thrown back in with the rest that would be pretty brutal alright.
