The important point you ignore and which makes your posts so dangerous is you fail to mention how much more contagious it is. Do you do that because you don't know any better or because you're an irresponsible sociopath? Part of why it’s more deadly is because it’s more contagious. I’ve posted that it’s more contagious in other threads. I’m sorry you didn’t see them. 2 Quote

Especially when the host country, China, hid what was really going on until they absolutely couldn't keep it secret anymore. Quote

No wonder that city is having such a difficult time. Just like the common cold or flu! 1 Quote

And now Hundreds of people are dying in the US every day and the Healthcare systems are taxed. Hospitalization is another consideration for how dangerous this virus is. But continue to put your head in the sand. BTW your high number of 62,000 deaths is cute. Trump said he'd claim victory if the US could escape this with less than 100,000 deaths. i don't understand you discount hard data for emotion, and call the cdc's own numbers 'cute' then use a politician as what???? Quote For virologist and infectious disease specialist Pablo Goldschmidt, the panic that is occurring around the coronavirus strain identified in China (COVID-19) is as unjustified as that created in 2003 with severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) or in 2009 with influenza A virus (H1N1). link italy is a statistical anomaly, as far as corona is concerned, and should not be included in the set until the reasons for its deviation are better understood especially considering that it is really only Lombardy that is skewing the data (you know the place with the horrible air) don't forget they were going through a bad pneumonia outbreak just prior to this as well hospitalization is either very manageable (when correlated to previous influenza/pneumonia years), or the taxed healthcare system is partly due to the doctors and nurses who test positive to self-quarantine and nosocomial infections Quote UK has enough intensive care units for coronavirus, expert predicts but i have my head in the sand when i spend the time to research and present the relevant data bizarre that you and your ilk are going to welcome and encourage the boot to my family's throat, when you lack even a scintilla of understanding and have no desire to actually learn, or even take 30 seconds to click a link and find out the number comes from cdc Quote (Epidemiologist) Prof. Gérard Krause: We need to keep these serious measures as a whole as short and as low as possible, because they could potentially cause more disease and death than the coronavirus itself. Although my focus is on infectious diseases, I believe that it is essential that we bear in mind the impact on other areas of health and society. As a society, we must not focus solely on the victims of the coronavirus. link here is a good video about science being about an open critical mind and investing the time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfQyjIO5hFg Edited April 1, 2020 by pinky tuscadero Quote

It’s unbecoming. Regardless, the real lawsuit should be filed against China for gross negligence. 2 Quote
BubberMiley Posted April 1, 2020 Report Posted April 1, 2020 (edited) You still don't know what community transmission means? I told you to go look it up 2 days ago. It doesn't mean local cases involving travellers who were infected elsewhere. It means evidence that people are contracting it within the community. There was no evidence of that until March 12, which ended the NBA and NHL seasons. Many people are reluctant to shut everything down until there is evidence of that, which makes sense. So, again, quit talking about things you know nothing about when it comes to infectious diseases. I can't monitor you all the time. The city of New York declared an emergency on March 7th, and restricted public gatherings on March 12th. At the same time members of the municipal government were downplaying the virus, and encouraging people to go out to public gatherings. Make up your mind on whether politicians should've acted sooner or not. You can't pick and choose with your bull crap excuses. 3 Quote

I had to even teach you what community transmission meant. It must take a mind-blowing amount of cognitive dissonance to criticize me for not criticizing other people for saying things that weren't even as dangerous and stupid as what you were saying yesterday.
