Ukrainian Passenger Aircraft Crashes in Iran

Systems like the S-400 are just a BIG SA-14 Tor...but the launcher only has four shots...and a testy failure rate as I've mentioned...so countering them might be easier than the Russians believe...a few decoys...a failure here and there...and you're in!

Yes....."penetration aids" (decoys) are a lot cheaper than SAM missiles.   Iran is at a severe disadvantage because it will never have air superiority in the region to defend up top or on the deck.   Shooting down a Ukrainian airliner at 15km doesn't count.

The Israelis proved with Mole Cricket 19 that one can have all the modern fighters and SAM systems in the world...but if one doesn't train their crews, disaster results.

Something like 90 shot down with no losses...and all the SAM sites destroyed.

Here's one...a 2K22 Tunguska by the looks suddenly going wild...

Yipes...that's gonna leave a mark !

The U.S. and allies are working on CEC cooperative net sharing of sensor, processor, and AAW assets in theatre.   Iran does not have this capability and few friends to buddy up with.   The F-35 strike fighter is part of this strategy.

You saw no one shot?

That's what you kind of promised the video would show me. I don't want to go looking for videos where I see nothing but blurry lights. But I saw it on the news. 'shots were heard, a bleeding woman was carried'. Now they showed the video too but they didn't claim someone was shot, or that the police shot at someone.

The same pictures you saw later on the news was in my attached link, but may be you need new glasses. Why are you defending this murderous regime though? Why are you trying to cover up their heinous crimes against their own people WHY?????

Try to look again at the same link (video) after you got the new glasses. It is the second video in the middle.

Heh...Canada will not have this capability either.

Few of our silly politicians served in the military let alone flew a high performance jet.

The F-35 could pretty much trash anything on the battlefield at will by the looks. And take care of itself in most air-to-air engagements.

Iran is still dealing with well past prime US aircraft and assorted other machines...and little in the way of proper command control in the air.

That F-14 was a real killer...in 1980...now it's a liability with its huge size. That's their best...last seen escorting Tu-22Ms as they bombed ISIS targets in Syria.

And what of the SAM operators? Are they currently having their tongues removed in Evin Prison? Or are they still at their posts and taking interviews?

The fuckups on the USS Vincennes were given medals for the Iranian airliner they shot down in error in 1989.

That's not all that happened, but no worries. You'd support anybody...like Iran's mullahs...before you'd stand with the USA.

Doubt they'd want you, anyways.

The last that I have heard was that Gen Soleimani’s protege and his wife were also on the same flight to Canada. Now, whether this has any links to his assassination and the regime wanted to silence him before he steps a foot in Canada remains unknown. I believe there was a ‘deal’ agreed between the supreme leader and president Trump to take Soleimani out. Time will tell...Maybe it won’t.

I’d like to see Putin following Iran’s lead and finally admitting his country’s role in the downing of MH17.

Russians admitting that they have made a mistake or would have been wrong? Dream on. There are plenty of other things Russians have not apologized for or have admitted having done wrong. For example, Russia Still insists that they never invaded the Baltic countries but they voluntarily joined the Soviet Union.

That’s extremely concerning.  I hope you’re wrong.

The similarities are indeed striking, at least at first glance. In both incidents, the armed forces of a non-liberal regime are accused of shooting hundreds of innocent civilians from the sky, likely over mistaking a commercial airliner for enemy aircraft. In both cases the regimes were quick to spread alternative fake narratives backed up by no real proof, and in both cases open source investigators were even quicker to debunk them. In both cases expensive, sophisticated Russian anti-aircraft systems had failed to safeguard against erroneously shooting down a plane that even open-source databases — such as Flightradar24 — were easily recognizing as commercial flights.

...Iran and Russia had a choice to pay a short-term political price, which would be borne by the powers at be. Iran chose to pay the price, and it may be more expensive than the establishment expected. Unlike the Russian case with MH17, where Russia lost no lives, most of the passengers on Ukrainian flight PS752 were ethnic Iranian, many of them students. Following the confessions, Tehran has been gripped by mass demonstrations of young people shouting “resignations are not enough.” How the Iran establishment will survive this new crisis is yet to be seen.

...Russia chose not to admit. This is likely to save the Russian establishment from paying a political price in the short term. But it is only a deferral of the price, not a permanent solution (remember Lockerbie?)

More crucially, this choice comes at the irreparable cost of Russia’s international reputation. Without owning up to its mistake, it will forever be remembered as the country that just kept lying.

Former Prime Minister Harper agrees Iran Regime must go.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/stephen-harper-iran-regime-change-1.5426140

I did not agree with his government but Credits to his government he broke off political ties with Iran regime and kicked the regime spies out of Ottawa.

Harper says peace in the Middle East will only come after change comes to Iran.

Speaking at an international conference on global challenges in New Delhi Tuesday, Harper said he does not believe Iran would have shot down a civilian aircraft deliberately — but the fact that Tehran knew it could happen and still allowed normal civilian air traffic "tells you something about the nature of that regime and its priorities."

"I do believe we need to see a change in Iran if we are going to see peace in the Middle East," he told the international audience at the Raisina Dialogue conference.

"I see an increasing number of states in the region — Israel, that I'm close to, certainly the Sunni Arab monarchies, others who are increasingly trying to work together and see a common future and common interests — and you have this one actor that quite frankly is … based on religious fanaticism and regional imperialism

The person who filmed regime's missile attack on Ukrainian plane was arrested by Iran regime for ridiculous changes of acting against national security!!!!!!. Yes if it wasn't for him the regime could blame mechanical or technical failure and hide their crimes again as they have done thousands of times before.

One regime's whistleblower is another regime's rat, just go ask Julian Assange - if it wasn't for him....

Never mind.

More evidence of Iran regime harassing and intimidating families of plane crash victims most Canadians.

https://nationalpost.com/news/its-not-safe-at-all-iran-harassing-families-of-plane-crash-victims-sources-say

The families of the Iran plane crash victims — most of them Canadians or heading to Canada — are still in the depths of mourning for their relatives.

But that hasn’t stopped Tehran from closely monitoring and harassing family living in the country, using release of the victims’ remains as leverage, various sources allege.

One mother received a visit from security officers after she openly pleaded for help from Canada and a video of her outburst went viral, says a U.S.-based Iranian journalist.

Another family had to welcome government minders into their private mourning ceremony, said an Iranian-Canadian briefed on their situation.

“They know the anger, they know they are furious,” said Masih Alinejad, a widely followed Iranian journalist based in New York. “They know that if these families came out in public and shared their pain and put the blame on the Islamic Republic, the whole of society in Iran would be united against the Islamic Republic. They are scared of that.”

CANADA WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?

Two missiles...

Still remains a mystery why missiles have put into target a commercial aircraft....

The operator was on high alert and sources confirm that he acted on self defence not hearing anything from command centre. But surely they must have to distinguish an aircraft from a missile... It is quite dubious.

Another thing that remains a mystery is a a video showing on social media someone filming the whole incident before this Ukrainian plane was intercepted by a missile. Now given that this incident occurred early hours on Tuesday morning how would this person know this incident is taking place? It is baffling...

No mystery or anything baffling to me. The regime revolutionary thugs ordered the shooting down of civilian aircraft as they anticipated an American retaliatory attack soon and they wanted to blame the shooting on American. The retaliatory attack never came so their plans changed to claiming for days that it was a mechanical failure. The thugs in charge of security of islamic regime do not care about loss of life and do anything to protect this murderous regime. They just murdered 1500 innocent defenseless women, children and men last November.

The commercial aircraft was many times bigger than any missile and was ASCENDING Westwards. An incoming missile much smaller in size will be Descending to hit a target on the ground and would have been coming Eastwards a Total opposite in any way.

Another new development, the regime appears yo have backtracked on the earlier promise to send flight recorders to Ukraine!!!. Was that because there was something on them that the regime didi not wish outside world to see or hear? Or need more time to clean up the records?

I do not have a military background but was alarmed when I came across this article from June 2019.

This article is from June 2019 when the US had a cyber attack on IRGC's system back then. Actually this was the first thing that came to mind when the Ukrainian flight was downed in Tehran this month....But Iran has officially denied the possibility of a cyber attack already. Or is it because the air defence is already vulnerable?

http://www.forbes.com/sites/zakdoffman/2019/06/23/u-s-attacks-iran-with-cyber-not-missiles-a-game-changer-not-a-backtrack/amp/

It raises two questions:

1. Can the US interfere with Iran’s radar systems?.  (Jamming and spoofing signals, interference with threat identification etc. ) does it have the technology?

2.  Would the US interfere using this technology after the retaliatory missile strikes by Iran?

I doubt the launch was hacked or carried out by any outsiders. But the identification was highly likely to be compromised.

Iran regime condemns US treatment of its national (an Iranian student illegally deported by redneck US immigration officer) while the regime itself SHOOTS DOWN the plane full of its own citizens. What a bunch of  hypocrites!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lying hypocrite bastards.
