I may not be a world class mathematician, but just counting up the five top source counties, none of them Caucasian, gives me over 150,000. So your statement that two thirds of immigrants came from Caucasian countries seems kind of strange. Also, of the top 10 only 4 are arguably Caucasian, presuming you use Iran as part of that group. The four together only add up to approximately 25k. Russia and Ukraine, from your list, would add about another 5k. That's it so far as Caucasian countries goes.

As for "western" countries, where do you draw the line? Is the line the Ural Mountains? Extend that line south and it includes all of Africa. What about Australia and New Zealand? Some of our English cousins would classify the French as non-white. No country has a monopoly on idiots.

As Michael said, it doesn't matter where people come from. We are all basically the same. As for the author of the article in the OP, he or she should be grateful we even accept immigrants from Mother Russia.

 

The real statistics show that the majority of new immigrants that are immigrating to Canada are coming from non western countries. All of our legal and illegal so called refugees are just about all non white. And this has been happening for several decades now thanks to the immigration policy changes that were made back in the 60's. You need to get your facts straightened out. Go to Immigration Canada website and check out the sources of where all of our new immigrants are immigrating from. it is all there for you to see and read. And who really knows as to how many of those new immigrants that are coming from some of those Caucasian countries are white or how many non whites are mixed in that batch? 

I don't know as to why MH would even bother to reply to this topic or any other topic here. He could not even muster up the words and say "Happy Canada Day" on one of my past new topics that I created. He won't even tell me as to why he thinks that Canada is so great. But hey, what more can I say.

I wonder as to how many non whites may be mixed in there of those coming from Caucasian countries?

Pakistan and India are not Caucasian. There are Caucasians in the middle east, including Iran, but the whole area is a huge mix of peoples from throughout Eurasia due to various empires and conquests, including that of Ghengis Khan and his successors.

You are being pedantic and referencing an anthropological definition not used outside scientific communities. The term is now commonly used to reference those with lighter skin tones.

It is all silly anyway. Where a person comes from is irrelevant. My problem with immigration is there are too many people in Canada. Wilderness is what has always defined us and we are losing it. We have to find a way to gradually reduce our population. However, as the planet heats up, we are going to be bringing in hundreds of millions of people. None of us on this forum can change anything, so our best course of action is to embrace change. Life is too short to worry about things we cannot change.

I have no problem with science when discussing scientific matters. We are not doing so. The use of Caucasian outside scientific discussions on things like skull sizes is archaic and used nowhere. If the police are searching for a Pakistani criminal they will not broadcast a description which says he is Caucasian since that would actually be deceptive.
