WTH can Ford do any worse to Ontario than what the liberals and the NDP and the red tories have done to that province already over the past several decades? One can only hope that Ford is a real and true conservative and not like those conservatives of the past who called themselves conservatives but were really just another bunch of liberals in conservative clothing. If Ford does become premier we all should know by now that the Canadian lieberal lying MSM will do whatever they can to ride Ford's ass every day of his premiership just like the lieberals in the American MSM are doing to Trump every day since Trump became President. Trump does not care what the media thinks of him and let us hope that Ford won't let the Canadian media try to influence him in anyway. What our Canadian liberal media needs to be told by Ford is to got to hell. Attack and mock them and enjoy watching them squirm whine and cry like the crybabies that they are. They don't like you Ford already so show them how much you dislike them. You are the boss now. All they can do now is just sit there and sulk. Works for me.

Ford has no plan, he might literally bankrupt the province because he has a 7 billion dollar gap in his plan.  He wont raise taxes, he claims he won't cut services and he will do massive tax cuts.  It is an impossible math.  Ford has personal issues, that make him unfit for leadership.

I am surprised that Ontario is not already bankrupt thanks to Wynne. What do you think Horwath will do to Ontario if she becomes the premier? No doubt she will be the one to bankrupt Ontario. I personally think that all politicians have personal issues which should make all of them unfit for office. I have not known of any politician at all levels of government yet that appeared to ever give a real chit about Ontario or Canada. All we seem to get from them all is more government, more taxes and less freedoms. No politician in power in Canada today seems to know how to run a country properly. But they do know how to put a country deep in debt with no problems at all. Maybe Ford has a plan a plan that the liberal establishment will not like if he becomes the premier. Ontario should vote for Ford and let's all see what he does. Can Ford make things even worse for Ontario than what Wynne has already done to Ontario? I don't think so. He may even make things better for Ontario. Hey, you never know until you give him a try.

But I am curious about what you said? What personal issues does Ford have that appear to concern you that would make Ford unfit for leadership?  Does he have mental problems?

Final Ipsos poll suggests Doug Ford and PCs headed for a majority

The final Ipsos poll of the campaign, conducted between June 3 and 5, points to a three-point Progressive Conservative lead province-wide and a double-digit lead in the 905. That’s majority territory for Ford, who has seemingly emerged unscathed from two days of high-profile family drama centering around a lawsuit launched by his sister-in-law.

“Basically people who don’t like him are the ones that are talking about (the lawsuit), not the people who are going to vote for him,” said Darrell Bricker, CEO of Ipsos Public Affairs.

Toronto’s 905 region remains the “real story” behind Ford’s potential victory, Bricker noted.

The PCs have a commanding lead there, with 45 per cent support. The NDP and Liberals are effectively splitting the progressive vote in the 905, holding on to 28 per cent and 23 per cent support, respectively.

Bricker said that overall voter turnout remains the biggest source of uncertainty at this point when it comes to Thursday’s outcome. Typically, it has hovered around 50 to 60 per cent in past Ontario elections.

“If one party’s voters show up at a historically high level, that could throw out all of the calculations,” he noted.

“So there’s potential for a lot of surprise on election night.”

We really need this majority.  We don't want a coalition!

Let's not take it for granted.  MAKE SURE YOU VOTE!

Pretty shocking how far they've fallen. Final result of unfettered Liberalism...

But not progressivism if the shift to the NDP is any indication.   This is more a result of unfettered government.  Unfortunately the governments that do get in rarely ever institute the sorts of changes that might prevent future governments from becoming unfettered themselves.

no time to explain his vision as newly appointed leader of the PC Party, let alone what he will do as Premier, and how he intends to do it. He hasn't even had time to think about it himself.

On the bright side, if Ford wins a majority, he will surround himself by competent people. Having watched them in action I have a good inkling of where those people stand on various issues. There is nothing radical about them and I believe they will govern from the centre.

Could be worse but, so long as Ford keeps the conservative socialists chained up in their cage....

Don't think you'll find any Conservative "socialists" anywhere near the party. Let me know if you come across any.

He means socially conservative people, the most serious existential threat that exists to the left. That's why Stalin had them all rounded up immediately.

If Ford does not win then democracy will be dead in Ontario for good. Just hold your nose and vote for Ford. The people gave Wynne the premiers job and look what she has done to Ontario. The NDP will be no better. You have no choice but to vote for Ford. Ontario needs your help to make Ontario great again. :)

I have little doubt that Ford will win. I support the PC party and want them to win, but not with Doug Ford. Just the principle- he's a total wild card. You pulled out the Joker.

Again, what little we do know about him doesn't look too shit hot, wouldn't you agree? So there's a lot to be concerned about. But it seems that this is the writing on the wall- Doug Ford may well be the most powerful man in Ontario tomorrow, and only once removed from the office of the Prime Minister. Let's hope he surprises everybody with his leadership skills and political experience.

I hope that he understands that he won overwhelmingly and reaches out to unify.  There is seriously a wide area that he could occupy wherein he improves the fiscal situation and assuages the most hysterical fears of left-of-centres.  He has the common touch, and should understand that his supporters will actually be ok with anything he does.

The left is sweating today. Long overdue.

He did.  In his victory speech!

His supporters started booing when he mentioned the other two parties - but he stopped them.  He said more or less that even though they're coming from various angles, they all have the same goal.

Being a real and true conservative that believes in more freedom, less government and less taxes then there should be no problem at all for Ford to fight any recession that was not of his making. It's all in his hands now and only time will tell.

Ah, ok.  Well I am hopeful.  As I have said I hoped that Trump could negotiate trade-offs between interested stakeholders but in many cases he hasn't seemed to pull that off.  Maybe Ford will.

I'm not as hopeful. I think the media will be just as anti-Ford as the US is anti-Trump. Read The Star - they've started already - bringing proportional representation to the forefront because Ford only had 40% of the vote (Trudeau of course was just fine with 39%, as was Wynne). Today they hauled out the Child Care advocates who were "heading to the battlefield".

Hopefully, that won't be the case. It's the sum of all fears - running up reckless deficits and debt in non-recession times - and when a recession does hit.....KA-BOOM! Thank you Kathleen and Justin.

As bad as the liberals are, they do not create irresponsible tax cuts while INCREASING spending, the liberals main flaw is their corruption.  But that is it.  Conservatives are corrupt to but they are many other bad things.  Hopefully Ford doesn't follow through with his rhetoric and governs responsibly, last time we had a con government, it almost destroyed the province.

I wouldn't mind paying more under Horwath because at least the money goes to the people, I don't mind to pay 1% more tax on my income so that someone struggling at $14 an hour can get $1 an hour and dental care so they don't have to commit crimes or take welfare.  The problem was Wynne was so corrupt that she failed to deliver for anyone, we had higher taxes but nothing to show for it.

Ford still has no plan and he has to take over government, this is very worrying, investors are now threatening to not buy any more bonds from the province until he releases a FULLY COSTED platform, not that non-sense on his website.Real investors with billions don't put money into people with no plans.  Those gimmicks like "Stop the gravy train" and "cut billions" might work to the uneducated joe blow, but serious pension fund investors have accountability and cannot justify investment decisions on those gimmicks, they need numbers.  Hopefully he doesn't cause a full on credit crisis and provincial collapse.

Ford was rumoured to be a drug dealer, he rips off his own sister in law and nieces and nephews, there is much to be suspicious of.
