DogOnPorch
Now...at this point...folks like myself are looking towards the next Trump. Will it be one of the old guard in office today? Un-bloody-likely. Names have come-up... Can members suggest any?

I suppose you could sing praises to Joe Biden all day...but it will be a love unrequited . Your job is done...Joe doesn't need you anymore. Trump's going? Where? All he has going for him now is insighting seditious mobs. Until he goes to prison, of course.

DogOnPorch
Some contenders are: Candace Owens...she'll be just old enough come 2024. Stephen Crowder...oddly...but he was born in Canada. Not likely. Tulsi Gabbard...she's still young...and neither Neo-Democrat nor Republican. Nikki Haley...for obvious reasons. Tough. ----------------------------- But...Jack Dorsey & his billionaire comrades need to be dealt with first. If that's even possible...that's a mighty big Frankenstein's monster. Oddly, many think that since they supported the 'correct party', they'll be immune from the upcoming punitive restrictions on society by these unelected demigods. This is to laugh...as they say.

Donald Trump was the worst President, by far, in United States history. At this point, I would vote for Pauly Shore if he was running against Trump. This is another technique of cult members. They are of the assumption that other people support Biden, the way they support their cult leader Donald Trump. This has never been the case in US politics before Trump. Not with Obama. Not with Bush. Not with Clinton.

The Italians for the "next" Mussolini. The Russians for the "next" Stalin. The Cubans for the "next" Fidel. It's fair to say that America won't be in any hurry to elect an Autocrat, that puts his own personal needs ahead of the best interest of his constituents. Most Germans supported Hitler 10 days before he blew his brains out. Donald Trump's net approval rating has fallen hard in the past few days to the point, he is the most unpopular President leaving office since Jimmy Carter 40 years ago. Fascism and socialism fall on the opposite ends of the political spectrum. No matter how hard you try and revise history, to fit your narrative, you are still wrong. After all the Nazis were about socialism not oppressing minorities. Yeah... it's bizarro world. At some point soon, I think people who talk this way will just be seen as problematic.

Fascist: it's in the definition...a collective stronger than the individual parts...ie...socialism/communism/fascism...pretty much the same thing. The government controls everything and you are but a cog in the bigger wheel. Edited January 11, 2021 by DogOnPorch

The Nazis and Italians let big business run as they saw fit, and crushed the unions that fought for workers rights. That, in itself, is the exact opposite of what socialists would do. You may as well say Fascism and Communism are the same while you are at it.

Socialism, as it's described today, is a generous social benefits program inside a largely capitalistic society. Naziism is identified by repression and execution of those undesirable to German race purists, with military aggression and state control of culture and imposition of behaviour. As far as I can tell people only try to say the Nazis were socialist to dissuade naive people from getting interested in higher taxes and social programs.

You don't get to redefine history to suit, either. Hitler and Stalin were good buddies right-up until June 22, 1941...then out came the long knives. Hitler and Stalin signed a non-aggression pact days before the Germans planned on invading Poland, so there would be no Soviet intervention. The long term goal of Nai Germany was always to have Lebensraum, or "living space" for the German people, by conquering Eastern Europe, and annihilating or enslaving it's residents. This is not exactly a historical secret. Even High School students are taught this. PS...you may be thinking of the "Night of the Long Knives," which was an internal purging of the SA, and happened in Germany in 1934. It had nothing to do with the Soviet Union. They saw eye to eye on many things and were able to cooperate right up until June 22, 1941. The last Soviet train apparently crossed with its cargo moments before the attack started. While the Nazis weren't Communist, they were indeed Socialists...it's in their name.
