bush_cheney2004 Posted January 21, 2016 Report Posted January 21, 2016 (edited) ....This is going to be great. It already is great...Palin is back to getting lots of attention...in Canada too. Hillary has to pay lots more for far less attention. Edited January 21, 2016 by bush_cheney2004 Economics trumps Virtue.
Wilber Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Raving looney attention. Did wonders for McCain. "Never trust a man who has not a single redeeming vice". WSC
bush_cheney2004 Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 (edited) Raving looney attention. Did wonders for McCain. Yes...it did, as McCain's campaign was given up for dead in June 2008. He was nominated in August. Edited January 22, 2016 by bush_cheney2004 Economics trumps Virtue.
Wilber Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Yes...it did, as McCain's campaign was given up for dead in June 2008. He was nominated in November. It got him nominated but probably killed any chance he had of getting elected. "Never trust a man who has not a single redeeming vice". WSC
bush_cheney2004 Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 It got him nominated but probably killed any chance he had of getting elected. No....he didn't pick Palin until after he was nominated in August. That's how the process works. Trump is free (and smart) to wrangle as many factions of the GOP to his side over Cruz, Rubio, or Bush. The first goal is to win party nomination....Trump is in the lead because of decisions made by...Trump. Economics trumps Virtue.
Wilber Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 The first goal is to win party nomination....Trump is in the lead because of decisions made by...Trump.Not much good if it makes you unelectable. "Never trust a man who has not a single redeeming vice". WSC
GostHacked Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 I had hope for Trump, until Sarah Palin opened her mouth and said she endorsed him. Total buzzkill.
bush_cheney2004 Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Not much good if it makes you unelectable. Can't get elected unless nominated. Trump knows how the process works. He is popular because he ignores "conventional wisdom". Economics trumps Virtue.
Wilber Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Can't get elected unless nominated. Trump knows how the process works. He is popular because he ignores "conventional wisdom". Palin doesn't exemplify any kind of wisdom. "Never trust a man who has not a single redeeming vice". WSC
bush_cheney2004 Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Palin doesn't exemplify any kind of wisdom. She isn't supposed to....missing the point entirely. You are talking about it...and you can't even vote in the election. Economics trumps Virtue.
Wilber Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 She isn't supposed to....missing the point entirely. You are talking about it...and you can't even vote in the election. So what's the point.? Trump is saying she speaks for me? How can you not talk about it. Monty Python couldn't do it better. "Never trust a man who has not a single redeeming vice". WSC
bush_cheney2004 Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 So what's the point.? Trump is saying she speaks for me? How can you not talk about it. Monty Python couldn't do it better. The point is media attention....free publicity...full frontal exposure in old and new media. Palin is a media magnet, and Trump knows the power of media. It doesn't matter what Palin says....but the crazier the better. Getting evangelicals and throwing shade on Cruz the Canadian is just a bonus. Economics trumps Virtue.
Wilber Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Rapists and serial killers get free publicity to. "Never trust a man who has not a single redeeming vice". WSC
bush_cheney2004 Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Rapists and serial killers get free publicity to. But they don't get nominated by major political parties...unless it's Bill Clinton. Economics trumps Virtue.

bush_cheney2004 Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 And they don't get elected by major political parties. Yes they do....see "President William Jefferson Clinton". Don't confuse foreplay with sexual intercourse. Economics trumps Virtue.
Wilber Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Yes they do....see "President William Jefferson Clinton". Don't confuse foreplay with sexual intercourse. Line up the loons then. It's a sure thing. "Never trust a man who has not a single redeeming vice". WSC
bush_cheney2004 Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Line up the loons then. It's a sure thing. Sure is....gets more audience share in Canada too. The show is just beginning. Economics trumps Virtue.

WestCoastRunner Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 The New York Times has a great article "The Most Mystifying Lines of Sarah Palin’s Endorsement Speech" Here are a few quotes: “We’re talking about no more Reaganesque power that comes from strength. Power through strength.” Translation: Whoops! Mrs. Palin seems to be grasping for President Ronald Reagan’s signature Cold War slogan, “Peace through strength.” “How about the rest of us? Right-winging, bitter-clinging, proud clingers of our guns, our God, and our religion, and our Constitution.” Translation: Remember President Obama’s famously dismissive description of conservatives as bitter people who “cling to guns or religion” before a crowd of wealthy donors in San Francisco? Mrs. Palin wants to make sure you never forget it. “He is from the private sector, not a politician. Can I get a ‘Hallelujah!’ ” Translation: Mrs. Palin goes godly as she enthuses about the business world. “Mr. Trump, you’re right, look back there in the press box. Heads are spinning, media heads are spinning. This is going to be so much fun.” Translation: This is perhaps the most accurate statement in her speech. “Well, and then, funny, ha ha, not funny, but now, what they’re doing is wailing, ‘Well, Trump and his Trumpeters, they’re not conservative enough.’ ” Translation: We’re still stumped by this one. There are many more hilarious translations. Enjoy the read. I love to see a young girl go out and grab the world by the lapels. Life's a bitch. You've got to go out and kick ass. - Maya Angelou
sharkman Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 Well, yeah. The New York Times still hates Palin. I expect another round of sex jokes about her daughters to pop up from the hard left too. And people like you will ignore that sexism against women, because it's Palin.
BubberMiley Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 Another round? I missed the first round. "I think it's fun watching the waldick get all excited/knickers in a knot over something." -scribblet
Hal 9000 Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 Well, yeah. The New York Times still hates Palin. I expect another round of sex jokes about her daughters to pop up from the hard left too. And people like you will ignore that sexism against women, because it's Palin. Don't forget SNL, they'll surely drag out Tina Fey to do her thing too. The left hate a self made woman. The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they're ignorant; it's just that they know so much that isn't so. - Ronald Reagan I have said that the Western world is just as violent as the Islamic world - Dialamah Europe seems to excel at fooling people to immigrate there from the ME only to chew them up and spit them back. - Eyeball Unfortunately our policies have contributed to retarding and limiting their (Muslim's) society's natural progression towards the same enlightened state we take for granted. - Eyeball
BubberMiley Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 Yeah, that's it. The Left HATES her because she's "self-made." This forum provides so much keen insight, it blows my mind. "I think it's fun watching the waldick get all excited/knickers in a knot over something." -scribblet
