kimmy Posted July 25, 2016 Report Posted July 25, 2016 They are individuals. You cant expect every individual at the DNC to be neutral any more than the people at the RNC were neutral. Do you honestly think if we couldn't hack into their emails we wouldn't find far worse as they tried to stop Trump from winning? The DNC has no obligation to be neutral towards Trump. They did have an obligation to be neutral in the Democratic primary process. This is comparable to catching NHL referees discussing ways to help one team win. -k (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Friendly forum facilitator! ┬──┬◡ノ(° -°ノ)

The question is whether they make bad calls to influence the game, and I haven't seen anything in these emails indicating the 'refs' made different calls to influence the game. Icebound Posted July 25, 2016 Report Posted July 25, 2016 (edited) I will be very surprised if he doesn't win. There are only 2 reasons why Clinton is hated: 1.... she has been around a long time: http://news.nationalpost.com/full-comment/its-hillary-clintons-moment-so-why-is-she-the-most-hated-woman-in-the-united-states Lots of politicians have engaged in forgotten promises, dirty tricks, questionable legality, political massaging of truth, and so on.... In between, they may even have done some good for the country..... But after 4 or 8 years, they disappear and we forget. But Clinton has been around for 25 years, and is "still here". and number 2.: She is a woman. http://www.universiteitleiden.nl/en/research/research-output/social-and-behavioural-sciences/tromble-and-hovy-how-much-sexism-clinton-faces ...research quoted in: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/monkey-cage/wp/2016/02/24/these-6-charts-show-how-much-sexism-hillary-clinton-faces-on-twitter/ This is going to be a very interesting race: Based on the above, are Americans really ready to elect a woman to president? ... bush_cheney2004 Posted July 25, 2016 Report Posted July 25, 2016 ...This is going to be a very interesting race: Based on the above, are Americans really ready to elect a woman to president? Yes, but not THAT woman. Economics trumps Virtue.
TimG Posted July 25, 2016 Report Posted July 25, 2016 She is a woman.Clinton's gender is irrelevant to most voters. If anything the number of voters picking her simply because she is a woman far exceeds the number number who reject her for the same reason (aside: every public figure is abused on twitter so such analyses don't mean much). Clinton numbers started to go down once the email controversy started. If she had simply fessed up immediately and apologized she would have limited the damage. Instead we see this spectacle of democrats pressuring the FBI to refuse to lay changes.
Icebound Posted July 25, 2016 Report Posted July 25, 2016 Yes, but not THAT woman. Uh-huh..... ....then WHICH woman? No matter how many names can be put forward, my personal bet would be that pretty much none of them would reach a 50% approval rating across the country.... and actually: any Canadian woman put forth in Canada would have similar difficulty. No matter how qualified they might be, reasons will be found not to support them fully.... ...
betsy Posted July 25, 2016 Report Posted July 25, 2016 5 point lead for Trump http://www.cnn.com/2016/07/25/politics/donald-trump-hillary-clinton-poll/index.html Hurray! Hillary's headaches may just be starting: Clinton's ratings on these same measures took a hit, though in most cases her drop-off was not quite as large as Trump's gain. Perhaps most troubling for the Clinton supporters gathering in Philadelphia this week: 68% now say Clinton is not honest and trustworthy, her worst rating on that measure in CNN/ORC polling. Other winners from the recent poll include Melania Trump and Mike Pence. Favorability ratings for Melania climbed from 27% pre-convention to 43% post-convention, despite the controversy surrounding her convention speech. Vice Presidential nominee Mike Pence also got a bump with his favorability rating up to 39% post-convention vs. 26% pre-convention. Ted Cruz takes home the prize of biggest loser with favorability ratings for the former White House hopeful falling from 60% pre-convention to just 33% in the latest poll. http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-07-25/hillary-gets-trumped-cruz-gets-dumped The wikileaks emails, and accusing Russia of hacking to support Trump will backfire.

That IS my point exactly. So why SHOULD he get away with it..... and yet Democrats "blaming Russia" (which is probably TRUE) will backfire???? What is the logic behind that? Or is it that there is NO logic?

There is not a male politician alive who would still be standing given the same baggage as Hillary comes with. No chance! This is completely about electing the first woman president and many people in the DNC and press/media will do whatever it takes to get that and many voters will overlook everything in order to ensure it happens too. TimG Posted July 25, 2016 Report Posted July 25, 2016 (edited) Also, how many civilians have been criminally prosecuted for careless use of email since the invention of email? Any at all?More than you would think: http://usuncut.com/politics/clinton-email-secrecy-double-standard/ Just last month, Petty Officer First Class Kristian Saucier plead guilty to taking cellphone pictures inside a classified engine room on a nuclear sub, and while no public suggestion has been made that he ever planned to disclose the photos to anyone outside the Navy, he could face up to thirty years in prison, though the prosecution will likely pursue a shorter sentence. ... Retired four-star General David Petraeus pleaded guilty to leaking classified information to his mistress and biographer and only received two years probation ... former central intelligence director John Deutch was pardoned in one of the last acts of Bill Clintons administration for mishandling secret information on his home computer. While the last 2 got lenient sentences their careers were ruined. I want to see Clinton win because she is the most sane of the available alternatives. But there is no point defending her when she does not deserve to be defended. Edited July 25, 2016 by TimG

kimmy Posted July 26, 2016 Report Posted July 26, 2016 Regarding this "the Russians!" thing the Democrats keep saying in response to the email leaks, I think RNC chairman Rince Priebus said it best: "The Russians didn't write those emails." Rince is a dumb-ass, but he nailed it. Regardless who leaked the emails, we know who wrote them. To Argus, regarding the issue of whether the accusations against the DNC executive are serious: “You have to be neutral and if I found out my staff had written those kinds of emails where they were denigrating his religion, I would have fired them right on the spot It’s just outrageous. You have to be neutral and if you can’t be neutral you can’t be in that job.” -Virginia governor Terry McAuliffe, long-time Clinton ally and 2004 DNC chairman.
