blueblood Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 Canada will always be a mixed economy. It's just too mega corporate under Harper, and was under the Libs too. The balance is off. We need governments that represent the people, working people and small-medium business people, free enterprise ... not corporate control by mega corps and banks. . And everyone is richer for it. Theres no "corporate control". Corporations cant vote... Maybe a lot of people like being able to keep more of what they earn. Paul martin got it! Bob Macadoo Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 For sure there are bad CEO's, but if they are all morons, then boards would just start hiring random dudes and paying $50,000 for their services. Obviously if there were as good, that would happen instantly.PS something doesn't make sense about you claiming that the companies is profiting 100's of millions, and that the polices are 'botched'. Those don't go together.Regardless, if you think the MBA degree is like magical fairy dust that makes you rich - then you are more than free to go get one.Not all. I believe our profit margin could be much higher but for our executive. Production is high.....demand is growing.......our lunch is being eaten by poor administrative policies and failed capital management processes. MBA's are not the key to the kingdom.....birthright greases the wheels too. Corporations are NOT a meritocracy. I look around and there is a dearth of leadership and those being promoted have only a veneer of capability as they play the corporate chutes and ladders game. They are holding back corporations from success. Quote

jacee Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 (edited) How are they subsidized?See up thread. Oil sands subsidies ... $100/month from every taxpayer. Corporations employ people and give them money. How many people do you employ?I'm retired, but I employ a few people part time with house renos etc. There are many useful people in society who don't employ others ... and among those who do, there are some really useless ones who bring a lot of misery to people. . jacee Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 anyone who isnt an outright communist is a corporate shill to you. Ridiculous. Most of Canadian businesses are small-medium, good citizens and employers and contributors to society. Large corporations, however, are often monstrous predators without conscience or humanity. . PIK Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 Jacee, that has to be one of your wildest claims ever. In this world running home with our tail between our legs will totally destroy our reputation. And who is pillaging Iraqi resourses. And name me the corporations that have moved into the area. And why are you against bring these people into the 21st century, where the women are brutalized. If you took the time to learn what was done in Afghanistan.......................
