Moonlight Graham Posted February 26, 2015 Report Posted February 26, 2015 You can't make this stuff up folks! Former Florida governor and likely Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush has drawn criticism for choosing his slate of foreign policy advisers directly from the presidential administrations of his father and brother. Of the 21 names on the list, 19 worked under George W. Bush or George H.W. Bush — or both. The list includes two of George W. Bush’s secretaries of homeland security — Tom Ridge and Michael Chertoff — and two of his former CIA directors, Porter Goss and Michael Hayden. Other key figures tapped from his brother’s administration include John Negroponte, who served as ambassador to Iraq and the first director of national intelligence; Paul Wolfowitz, a key architect of the 2003 Iraq War; and George W. Bush’s national security adviser, Stephen Hadley. All three worked for both Bush presidents. http://www.democracynow.org/2015/2/20/headlines/jeb_bush_culls_advisers_from_administrations_of_father_brother This guy is the supposed front-runner for the GOP in the next US presidential election. This guy. George W. Bush's brother. "Oh, but he's different!". My ass. People are actually supporting this person to be POTUS. I'm sure the majority of Jeb supporters are proven capable enough to drive a vehicle without steering it into oncoming traffic and getting their faces smashed through their windshields...yet these same people are prepared to vote a Bush (and their band of merry men) into office a 4th (and possibly 5th) time? No worries...all American presidential candidates must be approved by Canada first. It actually makes a lot of sense to enlist the services and financing of previously winning campaign teams. Shady Posted February 26, 2015 Report Posted February 26, 2015 Really? You're linking to Democracy Now? A far leftwing blog? Anyways, yes, some advisors are of previous administrations, because they have previous presidential campaign experience. So what? Much ado about nothing, as usual. Quote

It's a problem for a guy whose only message thus far has been 'I'm my own man', in an attempt to distance himself from his brother. Unfortunately, he hasn't been able to explain how he differs. bush_cheney2004 Posted February 26, 2015 Report Posted February 26, 2015 It sure matters to Canada...which wants a new oil pipeline to cross the U.S. border. Koch Bros. money courses through Canada every day. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

As na socialist, I hop Jeb wins. He actually has some very progressive views, when one takes the time to study him. He would be much better than a Scott Walker, Rand Paul, or Ted Cruz. In all reality, Jeb and Hilary are ideologically identical. Of course I will do what I can to get Hilary the win. Quote Thankful to have become a free thinker.

Moonlight Graham Posted February 26, 2015 Author Report Posted February 26, 2015 Paying actual money for Paul Wolfowitz (paying!) to be one of your foreign policy advisers shows what kind of decision making skills and ideological leanings Jeb has. LemonPureLeaf Posted February 26, 2015 Report Posted February 26, 2015 What exactly if anything was wrong with the recent Republican president's policies? Seems that they were very prudent for the time. Quote

Topaz Posted February 27, 2015 Report Posted February 27, 2015 What's the difference between Clinton and Bush? Not much, maybe their sex but that's about all unless Clinton has seen the light and turns out not to be as corrupt as the Bush family is. Jeb has his closet full of skeletons. The Democrats and the Republicans will never allow a third party into the running for the White House and they haven't had a goods president for a long time. Quote
