eyeball Posted December 27, 2013 Report Posted December 27, 2013 When will a pope finally come to realize some of us just don't want to go to heaven whether it exists or not. Pat Robertson told me heaven is like Sunday school that goes on forever and forever. I don't know about anyone else but that sounds pretty Godamn hellish to me. Quote I said now watch what you say they'll be calling you a radical, a liberal, oh fanatical criminal
Moonlight Graham Posted December 28, 2013 Report Posted December 28, 2013 This Pope is far more Jesus-like than recent Pope's, which makes him pretty good as far as Pope's go. Toma Kert Posted December 28, 2013 Report Posted December 28, 2013 (edited) Atheists can go to Heaven. But what kind of atheists he forgot to mention. Anyway to get a clear picture of what really the Catholic Church teaches about salvation see this blog. Once there scroll down to YOUR SALVATION topic which clearlly excplains different teachings of the Church on predestination as well as God Himself explains...: http://catholicguidance.blogspot.ca/ Edited December 28, 2013 by Toma Kert Quote

WWWTT Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 No it's not. It's a modern take on a story in the bible. You non-religious people probably shouldn't try to discuss stuff like this. It makes you look really foolish. I disagree with your premise. The pope isn't anti-capitalist. According to the pope Shady, you're going to have a hard time getting into heaven. But don't worry, say 3 "Hail Mary's" and 4 "Our Father's" and your good to go! One time, about 10 years ago, this spun out preacher was "saving lost souls" during rush hour traffic on the Lakeshore west bound leaving Toronto. This guy would just point at drivers flying by with his finger and yell out "You are saved"! But when traffic stopped for a red light he would stop as well to avoid any awkward moments! I later found out from a colleague that this guy suffered from a chemical imbalance mental disorder induced from a cocaine addiction. WWWTT Quote Maple Leaf Web is now worth $720.00! jbg Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 Yay! This was a real load off my mind. The pope says atheists can go to heaven.I am quite relieved that the Pope has changed the religion's traditions. I enjoyed my dinner much more and was less bothered by today's drenching rains. Will the steps anyone is proposing to fight "climate change" reduce a single temperature, by a single degree, at a single location? The mantra of "world opinion" or the views of the "international community" betrays flabby and weak reasoning (link).

Shady Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 Why do atheists care about getting into a place that doesn't exist? Also, why do the feel the need to celebrate religious holidays, and be included for some reason by changing the words to songs etc? They have a stange way of not believing in God and not caring about religion. I miss the old school atheists, that let you believe whatever you wanted to believe, as long as you didn't make them try to believe in anything. I really wish they'd get back to not caring instead of insisting on being a part of everything. Quote

One can preach against the idolatry of money and not be anti-capitalism. Because all capitalism is, is the belief in private property, and the freedom to choose in a free market, which products and services you'd like to particpate in, and which ones you don't. Capitalism has lifted more people out of poverty than any other economic system in the history of the world. The pope has never insisted upon changing to a different system, but rather working to correct problems in the best system that we have. Quote

GostHacked Posted December 31, 2013 Report Posted December 31, 2013 Why does the Pope care who gets into heaven or not!? The Pope does not care in any case. It's a publicity stunt. An attempt to modernize and be more inclusive. I see through it. Atheists have a lack of belief in god, hence a lack of belief in a heaven. But somehow it's the atheists' fault for the Pope making that statement. Quote
