Black Dog Posted November 26, 2013 Report Posted November 26, 2013 Now that Ford's powers have been curbed, he seems to have completely severed the thin thread that connected him with reality. Extra Gravy, hold the facts In a campaign-style performance at the presentation of the city’s proposed 2014 budget, Mayor Rob Ford claimed that the streets are running thick with gravy now that he has been sidelined by his council colleagues. Only if voters re-elect him next year can they save themselves from this glutinous flood. ...But, as often happens with the mayor, the facts lined up against him. Quote

PIK Posted November 26, 2013 Report Posted November 26, 2013 Did not take council long to up the taxes, 2.5 instead of ford's 1.75. And about blair is that the same cop that said if the gun registry is canceled, there will be kaos in the streets.Shooting have droppeed again in TO. PIK Posted November 26, 2013 Report Posted November 26, 2013 I think Ford Nation consists largely of lower wage (hard partying) private sector workers who are used to their bosses complaining that they can't pay them any more because 'the lefties' steal (tax) money from them to give to lazy-ass people on welfare ... or on bicycles. I also think many small business owners subscribe to the view that they shouldn't have to pay taxes to support people who don't work, use libraries, have too many kids, ride bicycles, etc. I think that mentality - that someone else is taking advantage of them - pervades much of the private sector. Until there is another viable right wing candidate who has similar street appeal (ie, NOT John Tory), many Ford fans may stay solid. I would think Tory 'elites' at all 3 levels of government would be working hard to replace Ford as he is causing a lot of damage to the Conservative brand. Not hurting the brand at all. And the people that vote for ford is tyhe centre TO, everyone else votes ford. Along as ford does nothing wrong and seem to get his shit together, he will stream roll the tax and spenders that want his job. Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.
BubberMiley Posted November 26, 2013 Report Posted November 26, 2013 Along as ford does nothing wrong and seem to get his shit together, he will stream roll the tax and spenders that want his job. But he's the worst tax-and-spender of them all by wanting to blow billions on a subway line into low-density suburbs. Anyone who argues that he's fiscally prudent when he does stuff like that must be smoking something. Black Dog Posted November 26, 2013 Report Posted November 26, 2013 (edited) Did not take council long to up the taxes, 2.5 instead of ford's 1.75. Boy, you will swallow just about anything that guy says, won't you? Ford's proposed 1.75% hike didn't account for his white elephant Scarberia subway. That's the 0.5 per cent of the increase currently on the table (or $13 of the extra $64 it will cost the average resident). So we're talking about an actual difference of 0.25% between RoFo and the staff recommended hike. Finally, the current proposal is in line with the tax increases Ford approved of for this year and in 2012 (2% and 2.5% respectively) which did not include money for the useless cash suck Scarberia subway. I know all these facts will just go over your head, but maybe other people might want to know the real deal. You have to be when a major newspaper has a personal vendetta out for you. I'd be interested to hear your theory of how the Star forced Ford to smoke crack, get blind drunk during work functions and consort with known criminals. Edited November 26, 2013 by Black Dog Quote

Nothing says fiscal conservative like handing your buddy a job and paying them double what the position previously paid. Police documents recently claimed Mr. Prices salary was $130,000 a year and the last person who held his job earned $65,000. http://news.nationalpost.com/2013/11/20/rob-ford-loses-fourth-chief-of-staff-in-three-years-as-ex-dj-takes-over-at-mayors-downsized-office/ Edited November 26, 2013 by The_Squid Quote

Black Dog Posted November 27, 2013 Report Posted November 27, 2013 (edited) I'm startying to wonder if "Rob Ford" isn't actually a performance art piece a la Mr. Peanut. Ford – who has been dodging most reporters throughout the ongoing crack cocaine scandal – is “hard at work for the taxpayers of Toronto” according to the statement issued by his office around noon on Wednesday. Ford had yet to arrive at his City Hall office when the statement came out. link Edited November 27, 2013 by Black Dog Quote

LOLAre you saying they and the police should ignore Ford's criminal activity? Seriously? I agree that they won't stop till he's not mayor anymore or until he's dead. I'm guessing the latter comes before the former. Because of the help of enablers like you, he probably doesn't have more than a year left in him. LOLThe Star has admitted they goofed from the time he announced his candidacy. They knew through police reports that the man was wholly unfit to be Mayor based on the numerous domestic incidences at his house. They didn't print what they knew at the time. Wish they had ! As for world famous, you are right, world famous laughing stock, world famous idiot, world famous for being disgusting. I sepent November in Australia, all over the news and I assure you, no one.....not one person thought it cool. They would ask how such a fat ignorant buffoon could get elected. I told them there are people out there that cant see the forest for the trees. Your support for the man is pathetic. Quote
jacee Posted November 30, 2013 Report Posted November 30, 2013 (edited) Another embarrassment coming for Ford? /detroit-windsor-border-may-foil-rob-fords-hockey-trip/ Torontos embattled mayor has made it known that he wants to attend the NHLs 2014 Winter Classic game on Jan. 1, when his beloved Maple Leafs will face the Red Wings on outdoor ice. ... However, in addition to the U.S. law passage that Porter highlighted, Hammond quoted another passage which states that any non-U.S. citizen who is determined to be a drug abuser or addict, is inadmissible. The passage further states that CBP can exclude travellers who voluntarily admit to having committed a crime involving moral turpitude. Edited November 30, 2013 by jacee Quote
Rue Posted November 30, 2013 Report Posted November 30, 2013 In theory the US can stop people who admit to using illegal drugs from entry into their country. There is a case currently under investigation where a woman tried to enter the US but the US customs guard said she had been hospitalized in Canada for depression so was not allowed entry into the US. If people had any idea how arbitrary US law is on entry they would be shocked. There is no obligation to allow entry. The US constitution does not apply to non US citizens outside the US and neither does our Charter on US immigration laws. Now as for Ford if he puts on a wig he can pose as Pamela Whalen and I am sure she would lend him her passport. She probably won't be travelling for awhile and not need it. Quote
