Silly me, I checked into this derangement thread again thinking that maybe that magical disappearing video might have shown up. No surprise though, just something about a Ford staffer.

Yes, my mistake. And yes, it is a different thing.

I get it, though. I actually read it as "personal" too, but then just happened to look back up.

Different things, sure. And one could make a much better argument for personal issues being off limits than personnel issues. When we're talking taxpayer money, personnel issues are very much our business.

Yes, sure. Honestly, I can't imagine where he thinks he is going with this kind of stuff. He's an odd duck.

This whole thread is a troll.

Well, it sure keeps you coming back despite your pledge to "come back in 30 pages or so to see if anything's changed" from two pages ago.

Desperate for attention much?

Desperate for attention much?

I was eager to learn more gossip of the Ford staffers.

I think it did have an effect, but he's recovered:

Mayor Rob Fords approval rating is improving after a steady decline over the summer months,

I guess 'Ford nation' believes what it wants to believe ... or smokes crack. :)

Why should his ratings remain low because of a video that never materialized?

They shouldnt , it s not like he has been drunk in public on official business, arguing incoherently and ignorantly about transit, or telling the city what happens in his office is no ones business, going AWOL for stretches.

Without crack he is just an incompetent ass. With it he has a disease and could seek sympathy. Tommy boy should play the crack card instead of covering it up.

What did he do now? Oh wait, nothing, just more regurgitation of all things Ford. Oh well, hey guys, talk about the video some more. I'm sure it'll be released any day now!

Mayor "livid" over $75K chair purchase

Toronto City Hall spending almost $75,000 on chairs doesn't sit well with Mayor Rob Ford.
As the Toronto Sun reported exclusively, the City of Toronto shelled out $74,850 to buy 30 chairs for City Hall's members' lounge.
An "absolutely livid" Ford told Newstalk 1010 Friday to express his disappointment at the sky-high cost.
"I just got off the phone from Joe Pennachetti, who is our city manager, and I told him this is unacceptable," Ford said.
"Unfortunately, someone is going to have to pay the price for this. If we have to dismiss someone because of their poor purchasing abilities, that's what we're going to do."

Ford, you'll recall, employs his former high school football coach and pays him $130,000 a year to check e-mails.

"I can assure you one thing, I watch every dime, every day - I've been doing it for 13 years, as a councillor for 10 and three as mayor.

Ford has not come into work on a Friday since June 21.

While the money is a drop in the city's overall budget bucket, Ford said it's a big deal to him.
"When you're a penny-pincher and you're a fighter for the taxpayers you understand this money," he said.

Under the Ford-championed Scarbourough subway plan, the city will have to eat $85 million in sunk costs related to work already done on the LRT plan.

I guess maybe the rest of council shouldn't have flip-flopped on it. Can't blame Ford that council and other levels of government are paralyzed on this issue. He's been consistent on his views all along.

How much in sunk costs were associated into David Miller canceling the Island Airport Bridge?

Regardless paying $75,000 for 30 chairs are a tangible reason why people hate the government. GO TO IKEA YOU MONEY WASTERS!!!!!

I dunno if being consistent is a virtue when your position never made any sense to begin with.

Correction: paying $75,000 for 30 chairs is a tangible reason why stupid people hate the government. The original chairs these replicas replaced cost $7,641 a pop. My understanding is the city's architectural guidelines require new furnishings fit with the rest of city hall. I don't really care, it's a pittance by anyone normal person's standards. Unless we want city hall to look as shabby as the chief magistrate.

To you maybe. It's how he thinks he got elected. It's everyone else who appear as flip-floppers.

And now that the Feds are agreeing to chip in it's believed that Ford has Scarberia locked up for the next election.
