Rob Ford wore the Jersey of a Canadian player that's playing in the Super Bowl. That player got asked about Ford like 18 times at Media Day yesterday. The MSM is obsessed with Ford.

media loves a slow motion trainwreck.

Maybe the guy should stop throwing gasoline on the tire fire of his life.

(yes I know I just used two different disaster metaphors there.)

This being the time of the year setting the property taxes, one view on TO. was even Ford is saying I can save the tax payer big buck, TO.'s infrastructure is in bad shape and if the city doesn't start working on it what cost millions of $$ today will cost billions $$ in the future, then taxes will double or even triple. My own area, is seeing a downturn in gas taxes from the feds, because people are leaving the area to find jobs elsewhere, which means out West and this will increase the gas taxes for those areas and leave small town areas fighting to survive. We may see different counties in provinces merger to survive.

..... We may see different counties in provinces merger to survive.

That already happened in Ontario years ago. Many cities municipalities grew in size to take in more tax revenue from the outlying areas. Timmins, Sudbury, North Bay, Toronto, Ottawa, ect ect have done just that. And yet they still are struggling.

Take care of the corruption and there is no need for these actions.

This is just sad now.

The guy has so many addictions ... where would he even start.

He spends his life trying to live up to his family's expectations, surpasses them, and destroys himself in the process.

Rob ... take a break ... get help ...

Weird they just found the actor Phillip Seymour Hoffman dead in New York and he had a resemblance to Ford. I just see this playing out with Ford being found dead from drug overdose. The behaviour in BC is that of a suicidal man. The need to be out in public after a funeral partying is a classic sign of someone in the spiral of self inflicted suicide. A normal person at a funeral would stay low key, respectful and then return home. Imagine partying after a funeral. It not only disrespects the dead, but their family and only a man desperately confused and needing to be liked would feel compelled to do what he did.

This is a man so full of self loathing he can't go a day without crying for attention. How can even his closest supporters think a man partying after a funeral is not in a deep psychological spiral of self destruction? This is a man totally out of touch with basic rules of decency,

Its a sign of a serious personally disorder. Ford is a person who can not deal with emotions so tries block them out in a crowd were the high from being in a crowd momentarily blocks out his true feelings. He hates himself so much he needs to try block it out with a crowd.

Drug and booze addicts like Ford start at a young age masking their feelings. Their self loathing creates depression and they turn to chemicals to try block the depression but it can only temporarily block the pain from self-loathing and then the depression it triggers.

Mark my words he will kill himself in public. At this point what I saw is a man who wants to die and does not how to do it quickly. The fact he is doing it this slowly suggests to me he is deliberately tormenting his wife and his family. To continue to embarrass his family, wife, brother, as he is doing is a bad sign-when you turn on the very last people enabling you it means you blame them.

Ford is showing he will deliberately hurt anyone who gets close to him and do it brutally and that he loaths his brother and blames him for his failures. This is as much as an attack on his brother by him as it is his family He hates them all. he resents them all.

There is no doubt in my mind this is a brutal man and someone who would have beaten his wife and emotionally abused his children in fits of rage and drunkenness.

To pity this man is wrong. He is dangerous. People like this are not to be pitied. They need to be segregated from the society they despise.

Also make no mistake Rob Ford never over achieved. His family has never seen him as having overachieved and that is why he is self destructing. He is acting out the message that no matter what he did, it was never any good to his family.

In fact do not under-estimate they put him in politics because his father thought he was a loser and so he sees politics as punishment for being too stupid to run his family business and being given a cushy job. Its why he continually insults the political institutions he is a member of. The worst thing that happened is when his brother joined him. It signaled to the whole world he needed his brother to bail him out. That is what he feels-resentment his brother has protected him....resentment for being placed by his family in local politics.

That's quite a condemnation of Rob Ford. Have you ever met him Rue? Are you a psychiatrist, therapist or psychologist? Are you counselling him? If not, you should probably not analyze him so disparagingly when he is clearly in need of help.

Hells belles now we have him here on the west coast jaywalking. Perhaps the west coast is beneficial to his criminal behaviour.

They give tickets for jaywalking? Wonder how that happened. I was taking a shortcut to my favourite breakfast joint in Honolulu once when all of a sudden I heard "YOU AREN'T GOING TO JAYWALK IN FRONT OF A POLICE OFFICER ARE YOU?" I turned around and went to the intersection. Maybe Rob didn't.

It seems they do, and to be quite honest I'm surprised I don't have a few. But I certainly look both ways, especially for cops, before I dart across.

I was once given a warning (by the Chief, no less, for some reason walking about in his pure white uniform). He informed me that jaywalking tickets do indeed occur.

Years ago, while intoxicated, I was stopped by an officer for jaywalking. I was polite and apologetic so I just received a warning. My loudmouthed roommate, with authority issues, was not polite and actually got a ticket. I wonder if something similar resulted in Tommy Boy's fine.

Partying after a funeral? Very normal. Celebrate the persons life.

It's the New Orleans way too.

Rue...never been to an Irish wake I take it?

Yes I have. Point taken! Only he was not at an Irish wake and God bless the Irish because at these wakes they tell genuine stories of affection and admiration and you correct me if I am wrong because I have been to at least 4, even with the whiskey people are respectful. I actually admire the Irish for doing it that way. We Jews just over-eat or repress our emotions. I always liked that about the Irish.

I do get your point but he was at no wake he was out partying. He's a disrespectful a-hole for doing that. He embarassed his family yet again.

I admit I am being a judgemental know it all though. I am mad and disgusted at him so you have a point I am on a high horse.

Surely you jest! Rob Ford being loudmouthed? And you're right about that politeness. I wasn't under the influence but I was stick in Heathrow trying to get back to Canada after a bauble in the ATC system. I listened to the man ahead of me in the line go up one side and down the other of the Air Canada ticket agent, who of course has no control of the ATC system. She got him on his way to Atlanta, but with stops in every major hub in the US, more or less. When I approached the counter I simply said if you have something available for me fine, and if not I'm happy to stay in London for the night. An hour later I was on my way home, first class.

Likely would have heard about it had this been the case.

It's interesting that the RCMP was in the immediate vicinity at the exact time of the infraction. This guy sure has some dreadful luck, must be exhausting being a natural magnet for bad karma.

Yeah...poor guy. What did he ever do to deserve this kind of treatment?

I hope you're not confusing my post as being sympathetic. Aside from you and your buds drunken run-ins with the jaywalking police, it seems rather unlucky generally speaking to be caught and fined for jaywalking. I mean...jaywalking??? I didn't even know that was a real thing anymore. I see it happen literally dozens of times in the average day.

A magnet, like some external force is messing with him.

Or following him like a blue and red cloud of impending doom.

A Rob Ford is the sower of his own sorrows. That crap's coming from within.

Yep.

His actions are there for everyone to see. And we can speculate all we want here. We are not doing him any more damage that he has not already done to himself multiple times.

In Vancouver it can get you easily killed. The main reason I can think of from personal experience is the bus system. Most of the buses run off the electric grid and are VERY QUIET. I just about walked out in front of a bus because I could not hear it, even though I had looked both ways. So I had to be mindful for the rest of my trip there. This is just a guess, but some cities tolerate jaywalking less than others.
