Charles Anthony Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 Do you have an issue with double posts? I have seen more than usual in the last couple weeks. It seemed to have just happened to me in a thread, a duplicate of my post was created. Just a heads up. It is not common. However, when it occurs, please report the post to our attention. GostHacked Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 What about a search on 'deleted posts' You should be able to see that pretty easily. I see many posters delete posts because of a double post. I think that might be a good place to start. Quote
Charles Anthony Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 Only the moderators are able to delete posts. So, when you accidentally make a double post or if you encounter a double post created by someone else, report it and a moderator will get around to deleting it. Forum Admin Greg Posted March 9, 2009 Forum Admin Report Posted March 9, 2009 Just an update on the migration to the new server. Our original attempt to migrate from our older server to a new server failed due to some issues with capability between the old server and the new server. It took a few weeks to iron out these issues, and now we've successfully migrated the data over. For those of you who are interested, our hardware specifications changed slightly. We're now running the following: Dell Quad Core - PowerEdge R200 Seagate - 146GB:SAS:15K Dell - 9G Drive Controller - SAS/SATA Intel 2.40 GHz 1066FSB - Kentsfield \ Xeon 3220 (Quad Core) 4 GB DDR2 667 ECC Cheers! bush_cheney2004 Posted March 12, 2009 Report Posted March 12, 2009 (edited) Server trouble...perhaps. I often access this site via netbook + cell phone modem or an HTC PDA. It appears that my service provider (T-mobile) is only offering up what was cached as of 6 March. For instance, I can still read the "Duty Free" thread that was later removed (by the mods?). The odd part is that I can still post to the cached MLW site, which I now call Bizzarro MLW. Access via T1 line or residential broadband is not a problem (e.g. this post). I wonder why T-mobile would do this.....maybe it is more sinister! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Berkshire, this is Valley Forge...over. 20:02:15 11MAR2009 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Edited March 12, 2009 by bush_cheney2004 Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

Just saying hello.....so anything exciting happening down there below our 49th parallel belt...or are you still amuzing yourself by how much the people up here admire you..better let them know you are human - this Canadian trembling idolitry has got to come to an end...You are cool - but not that cool - I am cooler - coolest and way to cool to go to school. Plus it's hard for you guys to light up a smoke with American wind always blowing so hard. I know my leeward side mate - lighting up in a storm is no problem - but what is that smell? Is that the holy American devine wind? Looks like things are improving everywhere - I guess you get a few hundred monkeys typing you might get some law and order ..... speaking of Ahoy - spoke to my old friend just a bit north - I want to go sailing as soon as the weather permits....The two Als may even go out into the swamp in the canoe at night and drink vodka out of the bottle and talk like big shots under the moon....decieded I am going back to the land of the living - money or no money - time to enjoy myself...down town is a bit much - seven foot black guy that thinks he is my body guard - and the retired RCMP guy who drove me over...getting to be a bit heady for me ------so what's new - not that I am going to stay and chat - sure wish I had a few bucks so I could buy a beer and just be human.......This is the begining of a wonderful friendship - the way it should have been for America and Canada - now the son has grown (Canada) and the father and him can be brothers ---------------------good night bro - the world is much better with you here - thanks ---ooh and me too. Forum Admin Greg Posted March 13, 2009 Forum Admin Report Posted March 13, 2009 For instance, I can still read the "Duty Free" thread that was later removed (by the mods?). The odd part is that I can still post to the cached MLW site, which I now call Bizzarro MLW. From what I understand, this happens when a router fails to update itself. The fact that you can still update to the old version of the site is because I have allowed that server to remain operational - mostly for those visitors who visit the site via a cached version, but are viewing static sections of the website: political cartoons, features, interviews, etc. Perhaps I'll shut down the forums on the old server and put a 301 redirect to the new server's IP address. That should force anyone who sees the old site to be refreshed to the new one. I'll update this thread when I'm done. Thanks for the update. Quote Have any issues, problems using the forum? jdobbin Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 Mapleleaf forum is not displaying properly for me. It is the only website that seems to be happening on. I don't recall changing a setting. What is happening. Quote

Melanie_ Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 Oh good, its not just me. I thought I was being punished for knowing absolutely nothing about Xeon quad cores, T-mobiles, netbooks, cell phone modems, etc. I do know who Dan Aykroyd is, though.... guyser Posted March 15, 2009 Report Posted March 15, 2009 So it WASNT just me and my lack of computer savvy skills huh ? Oh well whatever it was , thanks, all fixed now. Quote
Forum Admin Greg Posted March 15, 2009 Forum Admin Report Posted March 15, 2009 What seemed to be the trouble? A .htaccess file in the images folder was given the wrong permissions. We did some admin work on the server late Friday - that involved modifying permissions on the mapleleafweb.com domain account - and this must have caused the problem.
