  1. http://www.11alive.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=81325 Time to fact the facts. Time to stop treating this as a partisan issue. It's time to act, to do what we can to mitigate the serious problem we're facing. Seriously, can you keep it all in ONE thread? Or will this one be different from all the others you have posted so far?
  2. And making it illegal has stopped the drug problem?
  3. Pocket Rocket. Sounds pretty cut and dry in my view. BHS Actually you assumed I was assuming that. What I said was government cronies. Not Bush cronies. Don't put words into my mouth. You would have been right in your statement if I had said 'this administration's cronies'.
  4. Yeah, 'cause when you do she calls you "testy" or claims you're lying (re the Fifth Estate interview). She is pure mean-spirit entertainment for the right, nothing more. No one here is claiming she's perfect, but she can argue the issues with anyone, and inject witty one liners, kind of like Dennis Miller. Denis Miller VS Ann Coulter?? I will put my money on Miller.
  5. That was awesome. I think he confused her with the English accent. Ann looked uncomfortable.
  6. You know of another thing that produces alot of C02? Humans. Just so you know.
  7. Great question. Here's hoping something's done.Rep. King (R-NY) And I'm calling on the attorney general to begin a criminal investigation and prosecution of The New York Times, its reporters, the editors that worked on this, and the publisher. We're in time of war, Chris, and what they've done here is absolutely disgraceful. I believe they violated the Espionage Act, the Comint Act. Damn right. It's time to investigate and prosecute. Those who leaked, and those who printed. Being a "journalist" doesn't mean you're above the law. Compared to good hard investigative journalism of yesteryears (70s 80s) there is NO good journalism these days. And if someone reports something out of the ordinary, either you are ridiculed or thrown in jail. I thought journalists/reporters cannot be charged for any sensitive material that they make public. Not illegal to report it, but illegal to LEAK it. Prosecute and find those who LEAK it. Don't start controlling the Media (or put MORE control on the media). Put more control on your cronies in the government.
  8. Right. And the earth is currently experiencing global warming due to an increase in human produced C02, more than has EVER BEEN SEEN IN 650,000 YEARS. THAT is in the movie and it's not being challanged by anyone. It's the data from the recent science by real scientists, not "experts" paid for by Exxon. Don't forget that. Couple the rise of the COs, or actually it relates to the deforestation of this planet. More trees can reverse this affect. Remember trees loooove the CO2. So you have MORE emissions and LESS trees to filter it, the you have a problem. Don't just focus on the emmissions. Also in terms of this planet 650,000 years is a tick on the second hand.
  9. Your words reminds me of this famous Simpsons eppisode 'Purple. Monkey. Dishwasher'. Also another crazy man the U.S. depended on for the so called chem labs in Iraq was found to be a little off his rocker as well. http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/06/25/...reut/index.html
  10. The earth has been warming cooling for centuries. Don't forget that. During your short life on this planet, you won't really notice a damn thing overall. The planet goes through cycles and has been for ohh a couple billion years. Plus all your flailing about on Global Warming will eventually be lost be a catastropic nuclear war or a huge asteriod crashing into earth. Some things we can stop, some we can't. We may be contributing to it, but not by having gas guzzling SUVs (ok it does not help) but tearing down important rain forest and other forests aborad that the globe's inhabitants can survive. There is more to your global warming than just vehicles and things that cause too many emmisions. If we do not have enough Nature to help us out. Then we are screwed.
  11. http://www.freepressinternational.com/nsa-4th-amendment.html This is the head of the CIA now. The same person that headed the NSA. The same person in this little video clip showing how much he REALLY knows about the U.S. constitution. This is a man fighting for your freedoms. Any questions? This is the kind of stuff the LEFT just canNOT make up.
  12. Well said. "Instead of war on poverty they got a war on drugs so the police can bother me" - Tupac Shakur I really don't think that lumping poverty with terrorism is a good idea. Yes poverty adn greed are major problems but linking it and lumping it with terrorism? Your list matches mine. These are the more critical issues. If we do not have decent health care, when a terrorist strike happens we are screwed. And since the politicians say that terrorism is our greatest threat, would it not make sense to make sure all the after plans are in place? Emergency response, controlling the area, helping people ect. Prevention will help alot, but also being prepared for the aftermath is just as good. So make sure the health care is in place, make sure it is affordable. Terrorism wants to destroy our way of life (or so that is what is beaten into our skulls.) so what better way to counter that terrorism by making our way of like strong and secure in our area. Get the economy rolling, deal with the poverty problem, healthcare ect. Because as of this moment, if an attack happens and we are not prepared. then they win. Deal with all the other issues and terrorism will go away. Plain and simple. And don't come back at me saying THEY HATE FREEDOM, this does not work anymore, people are smarter than that.
  13. BHS, I would like to hear some reports on that as well. Does not surprise me, but I doubt the U.S. would make the airstrikes public.
  14. Test firing a long range missle and it hit Alaska? Neat. So why was this not in the MSM? Now countries are testing missles all the time. North Korea is no different. You also heard the U.S. is developing new nuclear weapons to replace their old stockpile, but there is no need to concern about that I guess. And when they say North Korea has the ability to hit U.S. soil, I doubt they are talking about the mainland. More or less NK can reach a couple of the U.S. governed islands in the Pacific. It's all in the wording. IMHV this is more realistic than the Mossad bringing down the Twin Towers. You can call me a conspiracy nut (from some of my other posts) but I really doubt the Mossad had anything to do with it.
  15. http://observer.guardian.co.uk/internation...,688071,00.html http://www.zmag.org/content/LatinAmerica/blum_coup.cfm Regardless of the coup that tried to oust him, yet the people voted him back in. If you find the results of that election shady, but the 2004 US election was not, then you really need to wake up. OH and the US would be all happy if Venezuela was ordering military products from Lockheed, McDonnell Douglas, Northrop, RAND, ect ect. But since it is Russian .. ohhh bad bad bad.
  16. It would really seem hypocritical of the U.S. to follow U.N. demands/timelines of withdrawl considering the fact that they essentially said 'screw the UN' and did it on their own. If they all of a sudden just bow to the UNs will then something is seriously afoot. Like a war with Iran.
  17. But then again, the U.S. Military and the coalotion stopped looking for weapons early last year. So how did they miraculously find these? Walking through the desert, stubbed a toe on the tip of a MWD, and found enough gold to make it worth talking about? OH jeese this again. Well let's se how effective your military will be after one huge Gulf War (which they deserved for invading Kuwait (was that war about oil as well??) Then 10 years of sanctions and two no fly zones. The U.S. was very aware of every move Saddam made. Liam wrote : And this is a point I have been making to people as well, but in a more simplified version. The Left - So where are those WMDs that Saddam had? Why are they not founds yet? What is our real goal in Iraq? Why has the insugency been in the 'last throes' for the last 3 years? The Right - You hate freedom and you are not a patriot. It feels like The Left is everyone else and the Right is Cartman off South park. We cannot have a good debate, because when The Right cannot answer a question with any sense of conviction then they scream 'Screw you guys I am going home" Hard to win againts that type of mentality. Which also says to me, that they are really talking about the weapons the U.S. gave them back in the 80's Or maybe the U.S. knows how deadly it is due to them knowing how much they sold to Saddam. Or maybe it was just another propaganda peice by the U.S. to scare people into supporting the war. It could hurt millions, right now, this very second, it could happen to you, right now, this very second. Are you willing to wait for millions to be killed before you take action?? Are you waiting for the SMOKING GUN to come in the form of a MUSHROOM CLOUD? Don't buy into this. Fearmongering is what they do best. BlubberMiley People still seem to forget that important item. And as far as I know, the U.S. never voted on any resolution that condemned the killing/gassing of the Kurds to the North. They did not even think to propose one.
  18. From all the tin foil hat stuff I have read. This is the just of it. Basicly , you have the elite of the elite. High ranking dimplomats. CEOs of some of the largest corporations on the planet. CEOs of banks Former presidents, ministers (of various kinds) from many countries Even some UN officials. The way I see it, when you get the richest people in the world together in the same place, you can bet they are up to no good. I am convinced they can influence policy, but to what extent I am not sure of. Could also be just a huge lobby group, but for what purpose? They could be influencing for the good, but why all the secrecy? I am always suspicious of 'Hey we are trying to do good in the world, but we don't want to tell you anything about how we are doing this.'
  19. The best thing he could have done was to give the glasses to Bush saying "Looks like you need this more than me".
  20. Argus You have heard that they are Canadian Citrizens right? Legal immigrants? Important to remember that. August For the record, I have yet to make a 'personal insult on this board'. And it was stopped before you even posted.
  21. Kimmy The only qualification they need is that they are Americans and they want answers. You have a group of victim survivors on each side touting their cause. Part of the reason he did it, is that no one else would do it. The man is taking action and showing us the obvious flaws in the system. If they can find the flaws and exploit them, proving the government is really not up to par on anything. I don't think the loss of the son is the factor, being a retired NY City police officer is a great qualification in this aspect. Being a cop he is all about the security and saftey. Police officers should be well trained to 'protect and serve'. Eventhough he is retired, he is still on the job, protecting and serving. Also, you may want to ask yourself that same question if you happened to have lost someone on that horrible day. I think you would want to make your voice heard. Edit... I am still trying to figure out what kind of qualifications mAnn Coutler has in order to be the voice box for the right. It would be a really bad thing (imho) if she was able to procreate. (worse if it was with Tucker Carleson)
  22. Stephen Colbert's show last night was just beautiful in regards to his WORD bit. Using the DeLay speach. http://www.comedycentral.com/shows/the_col...ord/index.jhtml 'Tom DeLay's Farewell speach'
  23. Killjoy http://www.cbc.ca/story/world/national/200...on-apology.html http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/5075352.stm The reason I mention this is that I do not want to see this happening in Canada anytime soon. I am hoping we have better intelligence and processes to be sure that they have damn good evidence to prosecute the suspects. In the above case. There was none. Freedoms eroded right in front of the eye. Shoot first, ask questions later. Now in contrast to the Canadian plotters, this is much more drastic and more brutal than the treatment the Canadian plotters are getting. That aside, Canada has her own standards, and we should stick to them. Be the better man. Sometimes you can play by the book, and win.
  24. Find I will address your question to calm you down. This the first big anti-terrorism charge since the FLQ. So there may not have been a reason to really pay attention before. And I protest when anyone is being mistreated. Our media never went hog wild on anything like this in the last 6 years (as far as I can recall) and this is the first big huge bust that happened in Canada since the War on Terror was started. So blame the media as well for not bringing forth any other huge cases like this. We usually have to rely on the MSM to bring us these kinds of reports so we can react to. And I did misread it. And I apologize. At least some can admit they are wrong. I am one of them. Don't expect that often. And actually you should read through the whole post before calling me a bullshitter .. alright? For a whole post sometimes can give the whole picture, instead of just hand picking things and then disregarding the rest. I guess my problem was I had a life before .. somewhat. Now that I am a pathetic looser with no life, I have alot of time to read and get informed and catch up on what is going on. And really, I was just not interested in how the world works before. Now I am. Because finnaly I know it can affect me. So that is twice you just blah blah blah'd me, as well as insulted me. But again, I will let it slide.
  25. Killjoy. blah Killjoy blah Killjoy blah ..... Well the reason why everyone pays attention to the US, may be due to the fact that they got the ball rolling on the War on Terror. Maybe it has something to do with incading a couple countries relating to the War on Terror. Could be the fact thay they have GITMO, other prisons ect. Could be the fact that the media has pounded it into everyones head with the drums for the War On Terror. See a trend here? I do read. And my only focus is not on the US, it is on what goes on in the UK, Canada, Us ect.. many other things I consider. Yeah it is a trend, the IN thing to do to get your hate on for the US. Utter tripe. I have been paying attention, and have seen the changes. It just seems to be more subtley done than in the US. The media never really mentioned anything about it untill this huge case came into play. Wonder why that is? Next time you choose to throw insults at me, send me a message, does not need to be on the main board. And I am hoping you can come up with something a little better than... oh I will just let it slide for now.
