I would not mind to see her in the whitehouse. http://www.famoustexans.com/georgewbush.htm Yeah, I'd say he earned his MBA. -
VIDEO: Ray McGovern Rummy smackdown
GostHacked replied to gerryhatrick's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
NICE JOB PARADE!!! For just ignoring the missle comment and then RIGHT on to Osama. Bait and switch. So either the artilce is fake or Parade just went along with the show. Now a missile can mean a projectile, so in essence he could be taking about the plane as a missile. But then again, the WMDs were to the East, West, South and North somewhat. Correct, but it does make him guilible. It would have been up to anylists to give him the most correct and up to date information. That proved wrong. He may not have lied, but SOMEONE in the Pentagon lied to him. Even after the fact, the shoddy inteligence (yellow cake from Nigeria) was clear to me at that time. And I am NOT in the intel biz. I read Imad Khadurri's book 'Iraq's Nuclear Mirage' (Memoirs and Delusions) After the bombing of the Osarik reactor, they had little chance of getting a nuclear bomb. The book describes that they were using an inefficient technology to enrich uranium. Proved to be too costly and too slow. They adopted the west's methods for enriching uranium. By the time they were to build a new reactor which was uderway, the Gulf War happened. After that they never had the means to get a nuclear program off the ground. I cannot say for sure on this on chem or bio weapons. He seems to know what he is talking about MSc in Physics - University of Michigan (US) PhD in Nuclear Reactor Design - Uni of Birmingham (US) Also in the book he had some extra education in England. Neat thing he describes in his book on how the US led invasion disabled power stations by dropping nets with balls of graphite wound into the net. Bzzt. Neat. Khadduri is now living in Toronto Ontario. -
Bush ratings drop to record low
GostHacked replied to a topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I suppose. But below 30% is awfully low. Does it really matter though when he can't run again? Yes it does. Eventhough this will be his last term, he still has the rest of the term to serve out. Plenty more can happen in the 2 years he has left. It can get worse. Not only that, if Bush broke stuff (which I am sure he has), it will be doubly hard for the next president to put things right. -
I don't se anything that supports the NSA program in there at all. Nothing definitve at least. And from the last paragraph, it seems to show incompitence in the US government. I can interperet this as there being incompitence in the higher ups. A lower guy thinks he sees the patterns , wants higher ups to approve of it. But he is afraid of getting run out of the Senate. Al;so if the guy had suspicions of a pattern, then it should be NO PROBLEM to get a warrent for the wiretapping. I would like more openess with goernment, not more secrecy.

Bush ratings drop to record low
GostHacked replied to a topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Didn't mean that as a Bush accomplishment only that thngs are not going to hell in a handbasket. My opinion of Bush is that he is a average President in extraordinary circumstances. Who can tell who would have done this or that and what those repercussions would have been. I guess that story about the goat was extraordinary, for he could not rip himself away considering the country was under a major terrorists threat. http://www.hist.umn.edu/~ruggles/Approval.htm -
Alberta's oil is a net loss of energy !
GostHacked replied to quinton's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
With the tar sands, as a guess let's say 1 point of oil energy produced takes 10 points of a combination of electric/gas/ect. From the creating of the process to the implimentation to the extraction to the refineries to the trucks to the pumps to the tank of your car. More energy is being used to create/discover new energy. If you can look at it like that, we are using up most of our energy just trying to get this crap out of the ground. We are actually getting less energy out of this source by rapidly depleting others that could be used in a better and more efficient manner. Prices go up on all fronts. Now it is not 25, but peaked at 76$ Lots of money is being made at the expense of running out of the energy faster than we can extract it or before we even get new sustainable energy sources of/out of the ground. -
That's it! I've had enough!
GostHacked replied to Montgomery Burns's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
MSM is not your friend anymore. I read the article : http://www.proudtobecanadian.ca/blog/index...ted_by_the_cbc/ Why they hated him? That is a good question. Why DO they hate him? Also what is the difference between state run media being controlled by the state promoting their interests, or privatized media (invested by corporations) promoting their own interests? They are both wrong in my opinion. I think you will begin to find , along with the CBC, you should take all news with a grain of salt. This is how much we trust the information given to us these days. I agree, dismantle the CBC. And CTV. And all the rest (Fox CNN, CBS ect) -
Time to resurrect this old thread from the dust bins. http://www.canada.com/topics/news/national...114ad5a&k=96831 It did not happen under the Liberals when Martin was in charge, but now under Harper and the new Conservitives, it is gaining more steam. Raytheon and others have been in Canada for a few years now scouting sites for the BDM. How about a national consensus on the subject? The US just won't take NO for an answer!

This I gotta see. Going to take some serious Holly Wood screne writing to make this read right. Go for it. Iranian Letter to Bush I was refering to my link off CNN with the Iranian letter. It was in a picture file, so cutting and pasting would be a chore. But I still think it is great. Considering all I hear out of Bush's mouth (either from his mouth or in print) is nothing but 'do it or else' What does this '(PBUH)' mean?? I am in no ways a religious man, so I claim ignorance there.

Hacking / Trojan Attempts on the MLW Forums
GostHacked replied to Greg's topic in Support and Questions
It is a Windows exploit, if any of you have the auto updates on then you would be ok. Do your MS Windows updates. Update your AV and spyware software. Scan scan scan. http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/...ory/912840.mspx http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/...n/ms06-001.mspx I was really f**ckin surprised when our lan team did not catch this. Not surprised that they have not done the updates recently. I notified my managers of the virus. Update your Windows and this should not happen again to your system. Well, I was sad I could not surf to here today, untill now, and that makes me happy. Good job Greg. -
BHS - The spy program in Canada is not as bad as the USs, there seem to be some checks and balances in place and general regard for the privacy of the citizens. However it won't take much and won't take long to slide down to the USs level in terms of the NSA Wiretapping. And with Hayden now comming into the scene as CIAs top man, he is looking at relaxing things even MORE and making it easier. Barriers will be eroded away untill surveilance on every person in the US is legal regardless of the context. Who better is qualified for this job than Hayden? Being the former NSA head.

No one here has, but I regularly read posts to other political discussion boards and I am embarrassed to say that there are plenty of people out there who sound like they now trust Iran more than they trust the US. Giving the US's historic involvment in the Middle East for the last 30 to 40 years, I would say I trust Iran more than the US. I have rarely yet to see the Iranians globetrott around the world shouting FREEDOME AND PEACE AND YOU WILL COMPLY OR ELSE. And I stand by my words. That letter (when you ignore the religious rhetoric from BOTH sides) raises some good solid questions. Why are you afraid of a different point of view? Does it infringe on your freedoms or rights? I am not an idiot and, I do not need to pull my head out of the ground, or my ass. It is a shame the letter is in a pic file, for I cannot copy paste text from there to show you that it is a great letter. For your records, I am not a fan of Bush, never have been. And I really am not a fan of Harper or his former counterpart.

Here is the translated transcript of the letter from the Iranian President. http://www.cnn.com/interactive/world/0605/...tter/index.html This guy sounds more sane than 3/4s of the current world leaders. It is a little preachy on the last two pages, but he poses some great questions that need to be answered honestly(hahaha) by world leaders. Overall the letter was a great read.

Calcium deficiency, anyone??? Milk is not the only natural source of calcium. The more and more shots we end up taking, I think, the more our immune system will eventually fail us. Take a shot to combat or prevent some ailment. Sounds good to me right? It can have the adverse affect of our immune system taking a nice holiday because of the shots. Your body ends up reliying on those shots to ward off illnesses. Why is it we have more desieses today than we did 100 years ago? Any why do we have 4 different products to choose from when shopping for the right medication? I do not approve of these mandatory shots.

Thanks for the link. However, I'm still a little confused. How is it a Bushism? It's an actual word/term. The word just sounds odd. 'I am the decider.' to me sounds really dumb. 'I am the one who makes the decisions.' sounds alot better to me. I had never heard anyone use 'decider' untill Bush said it. I learn something new everyday.

U.S. to release 1/3 of Gitmo detainees
GostHacked replied to Black Dog's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Hypocracy!! http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4979466.stm Face procesution? That is comedy gold. Awww sympathizing with your captured. They are not a threat anymore, and from the article they found out they were not a threat a year ago. But yet they remained detained. So now they will fly them to Albania for resettlement. And eventhough they posed no threat and were released, they would not be allowed into the US. But I thought they were innocent? -
How about the chairs on the Hindenburg? A new recent bushism. check out http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/04/18/rumsfeld/ Re resigned on his own will I guess, (but was probably preassured from other people) Micheal Manley will hewad up the CIA (former subordinate of Negroponte and former NSA director)

Governer General Getting Political
GostHacked replied to scribblet's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Correct me please if I am wrong. I thought the Govenor General was the Commander in Cheif for the military? If that is true then I think her questions are valid. She is showing concern not just for the fallen soldiers, but for the survivors as well. -
Mexico adopts new drug policy
GostHacked replied to theloniusfleabag's topic in The Rest of the World
'E', or MDMA, never had 'valid uses'. You realize E MDMA was prescribed as an anti depressant. It did, to some therapists, have valid use. http://www.whitehousedrugpolicy.gov/public...mdma/index.html -
Zacarias Moussaoui Trial
GostHacked replied to GostHacked's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
In his mind he won because he did not get the death penalty. But the jury decided to let him rot in prison. I had a feeling this was going to be the case. I guess being convicted of at least one death on 9/11 was not enough to sentence him to death. -
Should we Spend or Save the Surplus?
GostHacked replied to SamStranger's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
For one the extra money or 'surplus' I would get would go to my own personal debt. And the amount of money I would save in GST would maybe buy me an ice cream cone. http://www.cbc.ca/story/business/national/...eax-060503.html If this is true, then there are no savings here at all, since it would cost retailers lots of money to adjust their systems for the new tax. -
Mexico adopts new drug policy

My brother-in-law was laid up for three months in traction from skiing in Banff, but I wouldn't criminalize his behaviour because it costs the health care system money. He was doing an activity that makes him a healthier person. Lighting up a joint isn't making you healthier, no matter how much BS you believe in about the drug. No but skiing is not exactly a non-risk sport. You can end up like a quad in a wheelchair for the rest of your life, and all that can happen in mere seconds. Or die. So can skiing make you healthy? Sure can. It can also kill you. Granted I cant say the same for weed that it makes you healthier, but in some cases like AIDS patients it had benefited them greatly. For one AIDS seems to kill ones appetite. Weed, yes gives you the munchies, but also the drive TO eat. In an AIDS patient it can make a huge difference for they are putting nutrition back into their bodies. More food the better chance the body has of fighting the ailment. So I guess it can go both ways. ALSO Fox said he would not sign the bill after the US expressed concerns about it. Another victory for TEAM AMERICA !! http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12598317/ -
Iran elected Vice-Chair of UN Disarmament Commission
GostHacked replied to August1991's topic in The Rest of the World
Totaly agreed BD. My neighbours to the south have most of the worlds nuclear arms. Should I be worried about Iran or North Korea? Not really. The US is the only country that has used nuclear type weapons against another country. The US is the only country (that I know of) to use small tactical nukes (bunker busters) in war against other countries. To me this makes the US more of a threat to global peace than Iran having a few nukes that would take out Israel. And even if he takes out Israel, how will that affect you sitting behind your computer in the US? Other than the years of the media creating a long term and subconcious interest in Isreal in a way that the US population would support and defend Israel at almost any cost. They guys with the biggest and most guns scare me the most. Iran is still years away from even making one nuclear weapon, most likely it will be a test bomb. Gotta test so you know your technology works. If it fails, then back to the drawing board they go. I say they are 5 years away from even getting a test bomb. ONE SINGLE bomb. also Removing the cameras is one thing. Proliferating it around to other countries WOULD be a bad thing. And if we want to go there, the US has done more proliferation of nuclear and small arms than most countries combined. The only country that could potentialy proliferate more is the former Soviet Union. Through that breakup alot of stuff is in other newly formed countries and cannot be controled as easily. (well that is one reason why the US has permanent bases in former east bloc countires. So no, overall Iran is not that much of a threat in any way shape or form. -
Mexico adopts new drug policy
GostHacked replied to theloniusfleabag's topic in The Rest of the World
Canada was on the right track untill Harper became PM, then that avenue was roadblocked, and the motion/bill killed. For once I was looking at Canada in a progressive way. But not that is over. I agree that it will put more focus on the real crimes instead of busting someone for a couple grams of pot or weed. Geoffrey, your 'stolen property' anaolgy does not fit here. The drugs were not someone elses to begin with The dealers did not steal from another drug dealer (ok they do, and usually someone gets hurt/killed when that happens so it's not an option they like to take). If drug dealers want to pop each other, well fine by me really. I am really happy that you see some benifits to decriminalization. It is not a one grand solution, but it is a start and a gateway to the next step. If I want to get high, baked, stoned ect, that is my choice and I keep it to myself. Selling however to unknowing uneducated individuals is where I draw the line. Decriminalization is the right way to go. This will put more police efforts into stuff that really matters and will make a difference. Bust the dealer and you can solve the problem. But busting the clients does not address the real issue at all.
