Cuba was not much of an Interest in the US untill all of a sudden oil is discovered. Castro has managed to stay in office, while other US presidents have long gone. I know the Israeli scientists are smart and can get things done. They have constantly improved on any weapon system they have purchased from the US and abroad. The Patriot Missles were given/sold to Israel and they have managed to make it work, and work well. Syria has told it's troops to get ready as well now. But they seem too old to move out of range before the IDF comes in and pounds the sites. Old trucks. I am sure they can be modified to launch from newer faster trucks. Or even have a couple small hidden static launchers. These trucks/vehichles should easily be identifieable by any modern radar and sat imagry (you can bet there are a few statelites taking pics of the area to provide intel for Israel. But I am confused, this is old military kit that does not seem reliable or accurate in any way. Why are they even being used? I am looking for more official sites on this, but legislation was proposed to extend his presidency for a 3rd tem. It ties into the War on Terror as well. When and if attacked, emergency powers can be invoked and basicly Martial Law could be declared in a national emergency like a dirty bomb or chem weapon. The only president that has used it is TD Rosevelt. He served 4 terms during WWII (1932 --> 1944) He was allowed to extend his presidency because of that executive order under war times. After Rosevelt, legislation was passed limiting it to two terms. But then executive order can overide that. I have thought that as a possibility as well. All you need is another event like 9/11 and Bush can delcare martial law, and extend his presidency. That clause exists, and has existed AFAIK for every president before Bush. It's not that hard to beleive. After 9/11, to me anything is possible. My prediction is there will be an attack on the mainland USA again. Within 2 years. It will be dirty bomb or a biolgical weapon. Planes won't be used this time.
