Israel targets a UN outpost
GostHacked replied to gerryhatrick's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
edit The targeting of the UN post could have been the DELIBERATE work of one or more bad apples in the IDF. Given that Israel has a share of rightwingers who hate the UN, this is not out of the question. Well the Hezbollah members that captured the Israeli soldiers were only a couple of bad apples. Not ALL Hezbollah wants to start a war. Come on. The orders were given. Plain and simple. Just top secret and only certain people need to know kind of top secret. sharkman I don't see now the UN could enforce anything in Southen Lebanon. I agree they have been useless in the past with dealing with Israel. Does the UN consider So yeah I am starting to agree they should have been pulled out. I personaly would have not waited for orders to GTFO. If I am being used as a sheild and a target at the same time. Time to bug out. Also it seems that the UN and the EU as up to this point do not recognize Hezbollah as a terrorist organization. Odd. -
Israel targets a UN outpost
GostHacked replied to gerryhatrick's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Argus Well it's not like the UN did not warn Israel of it. It's not like they had time to pull the guys out. It's not like Israel gives alot of warning before they drop the bombs. -

Israel targets a UN outpost
GostHacked replied to gerryhatrick's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Well holy crap Harper why the hell do you THINK they are there? Why don't you tell us? The intent was to monitor a ceasefire which died months ago, and deteriorated into open war a couple of weeks back. What the hell is there to monitor, and why would you want to? Are they going to count the umpteen rockets and missiles flying back and forth? For what reason? There has been no official proclamation of war. Hezbollah cannot do it. They are not the coutnry or even the ruling party. Israel CAN declare war, which I don't think they have done as of yet. So that means a ceasfire was still in place regardless of the actions on both sides. Still UN post gets deliberatly targeted and you don't seem to have a problem with it. So on that note screw it. Let the Hezbollah rockets fly. Let the Israeli F-16s drop bombs on Gaza and South Lebanon. I don't care anymore. Let's go ahead and make a bad situation worse. -
Israel targets a UN outpost
GostHacked replied to gerryhatrick's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Ottawa Citizen today had an article on Harper asking why the UN troops were there in the first place. Claiming it is a war zone. Ottawa Citizen July 27/2006 Well holy crap Harper why the hell do you THINK they are there? One of the most idiotic statements I have heard from this man's mouth. In the same paper there is a report the Hezbollah was hiding and using the UN post and area as cover fire. Now that the UN is out and nothing can be monitored, I have a feeling Israel will step up the attacks. This shows they have gotten away with murder (since the UN warned SEVERAL TIMES to Israel that it was hitting close to that UN post. But that went ignored. This opens it up for Israel to continue their campaign now that there are less UN observers (or maybe from Israel's point of view) So this gets rid of a litle problem from the Israeli standpoint. No observers? No way to determine what is going on. Again, all this gets tied up in the UN, no action will be taken against Israel, and the US will veto anything that is thrown at Israel. -

LOL, nice try. In representative governments, the general population are no leaders "people". Even though you leftist, strong-centralized government types seem to think that way. And all Canadians are your people? LOL, how so? Wow you really do not understand or get it. Let me break it down for you. My people, as in Canadians, we are one people, we identify with one thing. Let's say the Canadian Flag. We are a people. My people, meaning I am a part of it. Again it is not in the sense of you all are my slaves. If you like to keep thinking that then fine, I cannot change your mind. This kind of thing is acceptable in alot of tribes. Native North American Indians (for example and purley for example) has cheifs, and the elected chiefs often claim the tribe as his people. Meaning he will protect his people, for they have elected him the chief and best suited for the job. I don't see how this is any different from Chavez claiming the same for his people? Being the elected leader with more than the popular vote. -
geoffrey This was the funniest thing I have read today so far. The US is a model for keeping war as clean as possible? I have not seen any evidence of that. Ever.

The fact that you refer to the Venezualan people as "his people" is disgusting. No population of any country is any leader's "people". I would be disgusted, as I'm sure all of you would be, if any Prime Minister of Canada refered to us has "his people". The fact that you use this type of language in conjunction with Chavez speaks volumns as to what Chavez is really all about. His people as in all Venezualans. Just as all Canadians are 'my people'. It was not meant as all Venezeualans are his subjects or slaves. His people, in the sense he represents them. They elected him. Learn the language and you will understand as well 'my son'. -
Israel targets a UN outpost
GostHacked replied to gerryhatrick's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The thing is the UN DOES wear uniforms. And are easily distinquishable from ANY army. Big UN armband. Blue helmet. Don't even try to pull 'mistaken for terrorists. Since the outpost was there for a few years. Israel knew what it was and were it was. This does not seem like an accident. According the the BBC , Israel was contacted and warned about the situation. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/5217176.stm Fom CNN : http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/07/26/...main/index.html (damn they just updated the artcle too) CNN headline -U.N. outraged by 'apparently deliberate' airstrike, - now points to the artlcle about 8 Israeli soldiers getting killed then the UN mention is halfway down. Nice job CNN. But anyways 3 precision bombs? 3? -
Peace, Propaganda and the Promised Land
GostHacked replied to Machinations's topic in The Rest of the World
Are you one of those PR-types who believes "It doesn't matter what people say about me as long as they spell my name right"? Well he is no mAnne Coulter, but I would say yes. And I am glad people are talking too. Learning what both sides report. You all get your new media fitlered and slanted bias and everything is worded to support Israel. From Israeili civilians getting killed, rocket attacks, suicide bombings. Always it is portrayed that Israel is the victim when there are more victims in Lebanon right now. But American MSM and Canadian MSM(from what I have noticed recently) cleary slant things to make Israel look like the good guys. Wrong. -

GostHacked replied to injusticebuster's topic in The Rest of the World
Yes indeed. There are other markets to buy your stuff. Russia is good at selling what it can make. Like the US. It is just a game of who sells more. If Russia can back it's sale up with service, then I say why not. Go for it. Maybe even get some cheap and if you got the know how, upgrade as needed. I am sure Venezela has a decent tech sector to deal with that problem. -
Next time provide some links so we can check this out. Here you are, if any help to you. It does not provide English version. Will post if find somewhere else. http://www.rzeczpospolita.pl/gazeta/wydani.../swiat_a_1.html English links would be good. Why would you not have done that in the first place?

Regardless of the instant hate for that site. I will be checking it out. If people hate it, good chance that means I will like it.

NATO to police Lebanese/Israeli Border?
GostHacked replied to August1991's topic in The Rest of the World
Can we send in a NATO or UN team to the Gaza Strip and the West Bank?? Make sure those illegal settlements are removed? ...but anyways regarldess of my feelings toward Israel and it's creators. A UN team might work. You can bet that the US will contribute more than enough troops for THAT cause. It has to be balanced, but it wont happen. The bickering to get set up with a team and who will be going will be in debate for some time. Tied up in the UN meetings debate debate debate. While that happens Lebanon will continue to get pounded. Israel said they will not stop till they are destroyed. Heard this rhetoric before. But anyways, expect long delays before a team gets sent. Not much to really do after the cities are in rubble. Israel will not be able to kill Hezbollah. Here is the tactic. Hezbollah moves into a city, fires a couple rockets. Get's the FO, and then the civilians are there to take the hit. They are always on the move. So by the time the Israeli war planes come in to strike, the militants are long gone. Israel can show more restraint if they know this is the case. Ok Hezbollah is sooo cowardly in there tactitcs, sure some of you guys are gonna complain about them every chance you get. But I would use the same tactics. Since you don't care where you drop your bombs, not like I should care where I fire from. But that, I would do within your border! If it stops the carnage on both sides, even a little bit, then I am all for it. -

GostHacked replied to injusticebuster's topic in The Rest of the World
Hahahah, okieeeeee 100 X might be an exaggeration but alot of people say the SU- 30 is "better" than the F-16.... Larger weapons payloads and deliverables as well as thrust vectoring being two advantaqdges that come quickly to mind. Even the MIG-29 had been able to outperform the F-16 (although not at 100x). But the Su-30 and the F-16 were built for different roles. F-16 is more of an interceptor/attack/figheter. Then again, it really depends on the pilot, how well trained they are and how well they know the performance and feel of the aircraft. The SU-30 us air superiority fighter which is just really an upgraded Su-27 with canards and vector thrust and updated avionics. This edit function has saved my butt a few times now. -

There is always someone else that would love your business when it comes to buying/selling military equipment. Shop around, you may even get a better deal. -
Harper & Israeli Invasion of Lebanon
GostHacked replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
August If we take an average of 50 people a day for an entire year we get about 20,000 people being killed in Iraq each year by car bombs. Also the population sizes are way different and not to mention that more vehicles are in the US than in Iraq. Does not seem like a fair comparison. It is a shame that the MSM does not present this to us. We have to go to alternate news sources to get real information. Also for this conflict I do not think the UN will do much in the way of brokering peace in the area. More or less they will be there just to take a tally on who gets killed by what and from where. Being more referees in a big game than peackeepers. As part of 'doing a favour' for Lebanon and crushing Hezbollah, Israel should help repair the infrastructure they have devestated. Aid money/people to help rebuild bridges, water treatment plants, power plants, the airport, other roads leading to Lebanon from Syria. Not to mention that new 20 mile buffer zone that Isreal will put in place in Southern Lebanon. Scorched earth? Seems like it. -
Argus You sure on that one?? I recall hearing that from CNN, CBS news and a Foxnews. All of them were reporting this then it quickly dissapeared. I distincly recall hearing and watching that on the MSM in the days following 9/11. Alas you will not find anything about it. Or will you. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/artic...6-2005Apr8.html http://www.cbc.ca/story/world/national/200...enna050421.html http://www.canada.com/ottawacitizen/story....1c726a9&k=56437 Whoa as long as up untill 2005, that shmuck of a senator were still pointing the finger at Canada.
-
He does not need to convince me at all. For, I will support his rhetoric. Sponsored state terrorism? Like what Israel is doing to the Lebanese people? jdobbin Yeah I have heard something like this. But Lebanon would have to put the motion forward at the UN and request the UN to step in. If the UN steps in without Lebanon's consent, then it is pure and simple occupation of Southern Lebanon. That wont help the road map to pieces. Isreal still has illegal settlements in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. Israel has NOT pulled out of the occupied territories and is still in violation of a couple UN resolutions. But no one really pays attention to that. They just think the poor jews are getting beat up on. This happens when you make your home in the middle of the desert among backwards 'savage animals'. I'd hate to live there if the wildlife is always out to get me.

Well aware of the censorship. Start taking screenshots of said news articles instead. There is a program that can take an entire page and send it right to a jpg. In case those links go down. Or constantly TIVO the news. All of it. All the time. I am glad I do not get my information from TV
-
oh snap,, edit time. Kindred I cannot find alot of old news articles online. Many websites like CBS and MSNBC remove links after some time. They archive it. Offline. It sucks for sometimes our links here will work ,, but after some time they will be gone. I don't know why . Taking it offline for 'bandwith use or storage space' is a cop out, consideering the technology we have today with the Internet. Thanks for those links and figures.

Show me AMERICAN MSM article hat talk about the Palestinians plight in an un biased light and then I will eat my words. -

GostHacked replied to Machinations's topic in The Rest of the World
Just finished watching it. Good peice for sure. It also does alot more than talk about the news media. But if you don't consider the news media an important peice in the whole government/military propaganda machine, then you really are just going along for the ride. It talks plenty of the Palestinians. On that same argument, August1991, why doesnt the main stream american press talk about the Palestinian victims? Even in Canadian MSM, it is the same way. And that PR support of Israel by our Prime Minister just adds to what this film is getting at. Wake up and read more. Do not take what is given to you at face value, if something does not look or feel right to you about what is givin to you. Ask the damn questions. If you don't get them in one spot, go to another. -
Aint', ain't a word .. but it is. Internet was not a word before either. Assertation IS a word however. But this is really a waste of a reply to a waste of a reply.
