  1. I am wondering when enough will be enough for some of you. You support Israel, and tout they have the right and right reasons to retaliate. I am wondering when decide that they have crossed the line from retalitory attacks to outright invasion. Will you let the battle go months before saying that it is too much? What is too much for you folks? What is your tolerance level for these attacks? How many innocent civilains have to die before you step in and say. enough IS enough. Israel is planning a long operation. One Israeli general warned that it could spill into months. (CBSnews.com) When will you say that this operation was wrong? When Hezbollah dies? Or when too many civilians are killed? If you see these questsions as the same, then that scares me. Israel needs to stop. Gaza and Lebanon are hurting now. Innocent lives are being taken. More Palestinians and Lebanese are being killed than Jews. 330 Lebanese(majority civilians.), 40 Jews. Israel is warning people to get the hell out of town. That tells me they will bomb indiscriminantly. Anything and everything. This is no longer a tactical strategic operation, this is a blanked bombing campaing by Israel now. Beruit will be cleaning up the rubble for the next 5 years. Harldy seems fair. I guess the right thing would be for Lebanon calling a cease fire, and asking for the UN to step in. But will the UN step in? I want to address about the people living there. Americans, Canadians ect (also dubbed Citizens of Convenience haha) Some want to live there permenantly. Somehow some members on this board make them out to be the dumbest peoople on the planet. Maybe they are there to help improve life there, they saw an oppoutunity to make things better. Do you really think this will kill anti-Israeli feelings? Or actually double it. or tripple it? Israel is not stopping anytime soon.
  2. Maybe we should all take a look at this piece. http://www.time.com/time/photoessays/2006/beirut_timeline/
  3. Authorized individuals as well (i'd say), I get some will be left behind. Would not want to get a suicide bomber on one of the ships.
  4. Rue Yes you are right. But beware bigger powers are at play. We all know that the US and former Soviet Union fought proxy wars with each other for decades during the cold war. So this is yet another proxy war. Yes you have Iran as a backer and to some extent then Russia. Then the US and general Western/European support for Israel. So this thing can really polarize the world stage quickly and drasticly. Time to pick sides it seems. You cannot call Hezbollah cowards, then call the Muhajedeen freedom fighters because they were able to fight off the Soviets and reclaim Afghanistan. The point being the Muhajedeen were being armed by the US, because the US did not want to directly get involved themselves. That would have set of a major conflict between the Soviets and Americans. So to act cowardly is also seen as a valid strategical move. Why bring war to your door, when you can go fight it on their turf. Technology will always be upgraded and weapons are always being improved upon. They ran out of the old crap, and had to buy some new crap. So black market time and let's see what's the best new crap we can buy for our currency.
  5. Same way you take care of them in Iraq.
  6. Now this I find very interesting. I give this thing 3 more weeks before it fizzles out or gets completly out of hand.
  7. To me this seems like Israel was just looking for a fight. This is the most aggressive they have been in the last 20 years it seems. I have never seen them act this aggressive for some soldiers getting nabbed. IT just seems weird. And they are not letting up at all. The Lebanese government cannot control it, and they have admitted to it. But yet Lebanon is getting blame for it. Also Lebanon was still trying to get their crap together after Syria pulled out of Lebanon last year after the one leader was killed. I have heard others say the same thing from friends. It looks like they were ready and wanting a fight. But they needed a reason to go in.
  8. It's something I have been looking at for about the past year now. I really think something was allowed to happen if not taking part in it. The attacks were known, Israel, Germany, France all had reports that they had warnings of the attacks and had let the US intelligence serivces know. There are consitancies among the so called 'conspiracies' and that seems to validate and throw more truth behind them. I personally think something really really shady went on. The former head of the FBI John O'Neill had been trying to warn of the attacks himself. He end up leaving the FBI (two weeks before 9/11) and got hired on as the new head of security at the World Trade Center. He died in the attacks. But to say OBL did it?? Even the FBI website do not even say that OBL was responsible for 9/11. My theory, is that 9/11 was allowed to happen in order to get support for a new war. Afghanistan/Iraq War on Terror. Who knew about the attacks?? I have no clue yet. I also find it strange that the PATRIOT act was passed only a couple months after 9/11, so that it must have been a work in progress for about 2 years. How far down that rabbit hole do you want to go? It gets even stranger the more I dig into this. Also on Sept 10 2001, Rumsfeld had a press conference where they said they were going to crack down on defence spending and the budget, something along the lines of them not being able to account for 2.3 trillion dollars (about 25% of the total budget but not sure of the time frame for that budget). I got more for you if you want
  9. Argus They are called Special Op forces. Almost every major military power has an elite crack unit for this kind of this. Ahnold did not invent the whole thing. And actually the person you SHOULD have mentioned was Chuck Norris. Or he keeps missing. For Example. I am speechless. You don't give a shit? Because it was the past? Don't care to learn some history? Then you have failed already. Utterly pointless to argue with you about injustices that started over 60 years ago. And this is why the conflict has lasted for so long. Both sides do not want to give.
  10. Again I stress This does not mean I support terrorism and their groups. I guess I am either WITH you or AGAINST you. You fail to see the difference between being a Jew Hating Nazi, to one that does not recognize Israel's right to exist. Regardless of my reasons which I try to throw out here. As soon as someone says something like this, they get labled an anti-semite jew hating Nazu. Seriously, you should be able to come up with something better than that. Both sides have not shown any restraint whatsoever. So this is a conflict you can blame on BOTH sides. But all of us are taking sides it seems. Agrus, I will point you to the book I suggested to Rue. Well written book that covers alot of this since the early 1900's before Israel was created. And actually the tru borders of Israel have not been 100% or officialy delcared/recognized. This is something Israel wants to secure and make permanent my 2010. This tells me the land grab is not quite over. Take a snapshot of the borders now. Then do it in another 4 years. You are right. I really DON'T care. As you do not care for the Lebanese or the Palestinians. Sides we have chosen obviuoulsy for good reasons (from your side and myside). At least I am willing to at least see your side. I can see it and yes you have good points. But not even compromising with me on certain things you and I are mimmicking this whole crisis. Personaly, I would have gathered a small force to go in quietly and make a stealthy operation to get their man back. This would have been a better response and at the same time make Hammas and Hezbollah nervous in the sense that OH SHI... they can come in and get their guy back without much neede force. Instead we have Lebanon getting pounded in the ass for a group they can no longer properly control.
  11. Ok, maybe not .. but when you say this.. That tells me you are labeling me a Naziantisemiteterroristlover. Am I wrong here? Or will you take that statement back then? I am not ignoring the missles being fired into Israel from Hammas or Hezbollah. Israel has more military power there than most of the other contries in the region combined, so it is not a matter of the Israelis not being able to hold their own. They can. And they do. However Isreal is responsible for this major escalation. They could have shown restraint, but they choose not to. You don't win any friends by giving them the finger and shooting them in the face. Hezbollah is located mainly in southern Lebanon, so why are ports in Northern Lebanon being attacked? Like the port in Tripoli. Concentration should be on the southern part of Lebanon where Hezbollah is standing ground. Why does Beruit need to suffer the attacks? It's all been tit for fucking tat for the last 60 damn years in that area. Even longer. The creation of Israel is the work of some fundamentalist zionists. Mainly about religion, (the jews returning to the homeland) which really escalated the situation. Someting Black Dog has been trying to point out as well. This all started over 60 years ago. US just vetoed a resolution condeming Israel for their over reaction, but that is no big deal right? What kind of message does that send to Israel? No worries, continue to attack, we got your back. But as soon as one rocket or suicide bomber attacks Israel, they are condemned with a motion in the UN. Hardly seems fair and one sided now does it. There are other majort players taking part in this conflit. This is not just about Israel and their right to exists. This is about pacifying the whole middle east. The tighter the grip ... Who are you to say how other countries treat and prosecute their prisoners? Isreal agreed to it, then decided that was not good enough for them. Hypocritical. And also you must be careful of what you read, and who is delivering the report on that subject. Biased slant for Israel in the American media is very prominent. This subconciously makes the US and Israel 'brothers in arms'.
  12. And on the same note, I don't want to be labeled as an anti-semite for the reason that I cannot recognize Israel's right to exist. How about if we instead point out that you have aligned yourself firmly with anti-semites, Nazis, and terrorists? That, in fact, most of those on your side fall into one or more of those camps? Way to point the finger Argus. Nazi? Back the fudge up there boy. Nice slander on your part at my expense. I am of German decent, this you may want to know. So continue to call me a Nazi, I have had that name thrown at me since I was a kid. It was laughable when I was a kid, and laughable now I am an adult. I will forgive you for this personal attack however, cause I know you meant better. What Hammas and Hezbollah are doing is wrong yes. However the results are very dissproportionate to those 3 soldiers now being held hostage. What I am is a Canadian wondering why there has been SOOO much support for Israel when they get attacked but when the Isreali army makes an incursion into Gaza to capture militants who were about to be freed from a Gaza jail. Don't expect much sympathy from me. Also I am not a religious man. So I have been able to make up my own mind. Again, I forgive you for attacking me personaly.
  13. I think restraint is needed there. I really really really doubt Iran had anything to do with this whole showdown. They have only gave support to Syria if they have been attacked. Iran will not make a push.
  14. I hope you can back that up with some evidence, this is the first time I hear of it. The largest supplier of arms to Israel is the U.S.A. A good deal of weapons and craft for the Army, airforce and navy have come from the US or been designed by US corps. The more Israel uses, the more they will get. For the companies in the US are making money from it. Not like they are going to stop that anytime soon. Isreal is the only major power in the middle east. That was no accident.
  15. And on the same note, I don't want to be labeled as an anti-semite for the reason that I cannot recognize Israel's right to exist.
  16. Rue this book may interest you. http://www.ucpress.edu/books/pages/9257001.html Author : Melani McAlister Title : Epic Encounters Culture, Media, and U.S. Interests in the Middle East since 1945 Updated Edition, with a Post-9/11 Chapter. Described how the interest in the middle east since the early 1900s. It is from the US point of view. and clearly shows through media how a subconcious interest in the middle east is established in the American psyche. A great read if you want to know how Israel has become a great interest by the U.S. Will shed light on todays conflict as well. All about perception and portraying different peoples in different lights.
  17. Not only that you have a naval blockade of Lebanon, and more air strikes are going to happen. Also the rhetoric now has moved away from Hamas (who really was the focus at the start) and now moved to Hezbolah. President Bush also blames Syria for these actions. Syria? I though.. wait wait wait.. it does not matter what I though. Hamas digs tunnel to Israeli outpost, kills some captures on. Israel amasses troops and tanks at the border. - bridges, power plant, foreign ministry attacked. Suposedly Hezbola captures Israeli soldiers. Israel bombs airport, naval base, hundreds of other targes PLUS a naval blockade. Syria is thrown into the mix along with a mention of Iran. Now really, all this over a captured soldier. Hamas made a military strike this time, and many civilians payed the price for that action. Even talk about Hezbolah taking the hostages to Iran. Wonder how they will pull that off. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/07/13/...in1798784.shtml Why to Iran? Would they be safe there? Or would that give Israel another target? Something does not make sense here at all. Then there was the prision break from Israel, they entered Gaza to capture some prisoners that were about to be released, and were considered a threat to Israel, now they sit in an Israeli jail, after their terms have been served.
  18. Argus Is the United States occupying a large portion of Mexico?? Try another argument.
  19. Argus I am sure all that has worked in the past. Or has it?
  20. Indeed WTFF is going on over there. This operation must have had some big planning. Lebanon?? I thought it was .. Gaza... ummm
  21. Easy. You keep the records in the 7th tower of the World Trade Center complex. Then.... ....you demolish it and hide the evidence when nobody is looking. In fact, it may also help if: http://www.wtc7.net/articles/kimball/thirdskyscraper.html After that, everything just falls into place. I started a 9/11 thread some time ago, and my initial thought was it was a big bank heist. Now that throws more evidence in that camp. I watched that clip last week, but did not know when it took place.
  22. Then you have Rumsfeld saying they cannot account for 2.3 TRILLION $US of the defence budget. Not sure if it is for one year or over a period of years, but WOW 2.3 TRILLION?? http://benfrank.net/patriots/news/national...ssing_trillions. How the hell do you loose 2.3 trillion? Oh wow this looks like it was said on Sept 10 2001.
  23. Socialism.... NOT COMMUNISM, alot equate Socialism with communism, while they are similar they are yet different.
  24. Yeah here we go with the Isreal support again  Iran has had US influence in its borders in the past. Remember the Shaw? Remember the Hostage crisis, remember what caused the whole mess to begin with?? Really learn your history and go back more than 5 years to look at the overal bigger picture.
