  1. I think it was more of an effort to bring indigenous people into modern society. Was harm done along the way? Yes of course but to my mind genocide brings up images of Nazi Germany and concentration camps and crematoriums. There have been other attempts at genocide as well but trying to educate people in schools is something different. I've heard stories from old timers around here about how strict the schools were back then, nothing like today.
  2. Despite Joe Biden's low polling numbers( well deserved) the Dems do still retain some huge advantages over the Republicans. The unwavering support of the MSM and big tech for the Democrats cannot be understated. The US is now in a recession but they are actually changing the definition of the word in order to claim they are not currently in one. Wikipedia is fully on board with this as well. How low can they go? I'm betting even lower. Biden hits new low in polls | Washington Examiner
  3. I think that sometimes the donations to political parties also plays a role in judicial appointments, both federally and provincially. Trudeau defends 'merit-based' system for appointing judges after connections to cabinet minister revealed | National Post
  4. That's a good point. It's up for debate as to what left-wing means these days. At one time they claimed to be the only one's looking out for the working class but I don't think that's the case now. I'm not sure what they call themselves now, progressive or leftists or perhaps both. I think of them just as woke and out of touch.
  5. You're really sugar coating this stuff. The "family friend" line was false. Trudeau had no personal interaction with this close family friend of his for 30 years, until, coincidentally I’m sure, he became the leader of the Liberal Party of Canada. Except for his father’s funeral in 2000, the last time before 2013 Trudeau saw the Aga Khan was when he, as a 12-year-old boy, accompanied his father, then-prime minister Pierre Trudeau, on a family vacation in Greece. Yet after one encounter in 30 years, Trudeau and his good buddy holidayed together thrice in two years — once as Liberal leader in 2014, and twice as prime minister in 2016, when the ethical lapses occurred. It’s undeniable that the Aga Khan, whose foundation has received more than $300 million in Canadian government money since the 1980s, has a business relationship with Canada that is relevant to the prime minister’s work. Even if they were genuinely friends, that’s all the more reason to clear the trip through Canada’s ethics channels. As for the groping incident. The allegation was in fact very credible. In 2018, a newspaper piece from 2000 emerged: A reporter alleged that Trudeau, who was 28 at the time, was at the Kokanee Summit in Creston, B.C., raising money for a charity. An editorial in the local paper said Trudeau was accused of “groping” and “inappropriately handling” a female reporter during the event. Reached by CBC in 2018, the woman said “The incident referred to in the editorial did occur, as reported. Mr. Trudeau did apologize the next day. I did not pursue the incident at the time and will not be pursuing the incident further. I have had no subsequent contact with Mr. Trudeau, before or after he became Prime Minister.” SNC Lavalin. 6. I just noticed from the above clip that Nancy is still just as arrogant as ever, perhaps even more so.
  7. Pelosi has been at this a very long time. She has accumulated an enormous amount of wealth from this kind of activity. This clip is from ten years ago.
  8. Like their Democratic counterparts in the US, Trudeau and the Liberals have moved way over to the left, firmly into NDP turf. Not all that long ago, Liberal leaders were pragmatic enough to understand that the economy actually mattered as well as the size of deficits and the debt. Trudeau has gone full-on woke much to the detriment of our country. I can never support any leader that wants to shut down free speech and control what we can and can't see. With his history of ethics violations, blackface, groping etc who in their right mind would still vote for this guy? No other party leader has a history as bad as Trudeau's.
  9. How can anyone watch videos of Ray Epps and his actions on Jan 6 and come to the conclusion that there's nothing to see here? Talk about being willfully blind .
  10. Remember that the Dems and their shills in the MSM told us for years that there was lot's of evidence of the Russia collusion story. This was happening on a daily basis. It was all a lie and a Pulitzer winning lie at that. They clearly will stop at nothing to get Donald Trump. They just want to get false stories out no matter how outrageous they are. Trump trying to grab the steering wheel in his limo? C'mon man!?
  11. Ray Epps seems to be kind of a ringleader, or instigator depending on your point of view. From what I've seen, he's an instigator. I'm really curious as to why he is getting a pass for his actions.
  12. This is why people have so little trust in the MSM. Trump demands NY Times, WaPo return Pulitzers for Russia hoax (nypost.com) I didn't know they actually got Pulitzers for this false story. Doesn't say much for the Pulitzer organization does it? As was pointed out by Greg Gutfeld on The Five yesterday, this apology? is kind of meaningless given that the author is now locked onto the Jan 6 Trump/insurrection hoax.
  13. Hillary Clinton in the US. Al Gore in the US. Democrats Normalized Questioning the Legitimacy of Elections – PJ Media Democrats showing early signs of questioning the legitimacy of the elections in 2022 and 2024 - American Thinker For the record, I don't think there is anything wrong with questioning the legitimacy of elections. The claims may be totally baseless or there may be grounds for suspicion. It's a fact that prior to the 2020 election the Dems were raising doubts about the integrity of the election process. After election night they said it was the most secure election in history, no chance of fraud.
  14. Like his father before him, Justin was born into wealth. He was actually financially set for life before he was born so it's kind of understandable why he's totally out of touch with average Canadians. Yes he is much more focused on photo ops than the important issues.
  15. Yes my bad. It was years of lying to be accurate.?
  16. Cooling or warming? Mostly due to mankind? The message keeps changing but the goal is the same, make people panic. I won't count on the mainstream journalists for this kind of information.
  17. I think it's absurd to suggest that networks like CNN are not hard left. Media Bias: Pretty Much All Of Journalism Now Leans Left, Study Shows | Investor's Business Daily (investors.com) Did CNN ever say anything positive about Donald Trump? If they did it would be dwarfed by the enormous amount of time they spent attacking him. Here in Canada Leslyn Lewis get's ignored by our MSM because she's in the Conservative party. If she was challenging for the leadership of the Liberals or NDP she would get wall to wall coverage.
  18. It just goes to show that with the Canadian immigration system there isn't any real vetting going on. And then the appeals process can go on indefinitely at taxpayer expense. Anyone just has to utter a few words, "I'm a refugee" and they're in.
  19. You call Ray Epps a dupe. I don't think so. It's curious and/or suspicious why this man is apparently immune from charges given that there is lot's of video of him engaging in what is supposed to be illegal activity . Why is the Jan 6 committee not showing any interest in this man?
  20. I'm not sure about Poilievre's connection to the WEF if any. I have read that he is or was involved with them in some capacity but now he's saying he'll boycott the WEF. I hope he won't want anything to do with them but it's questionable. Pierre Poilievre says he and his cabinet would boycott World Economic Forum | True North (tnc.news)
  21. When it comes to politicians justice is not applied equally and it largely depends on which of the two main parties the person belongs to. Can all the Trump haters here at least be honest and admit that Paul Pelosi has been getting the kid gloves treatment because of who he's married to?
  22. Where are the Biden supporters who will twist and turn and tell us how this can possibly make sense?
  23. Not a joke! Conservatives and progressives really are wired differently and it's apparently possible to determine if someone is conservative or woke by looking at brain scans. This from a PBS documentary.
  24. That issue is actually in the constitution, the second amendment. The constitution doesn't mention abortion. Now that the states have the right to decide the matter they will have to listen to the voters.
  25. I can't speak for anyone else in here but I'm only in church for weddings or funerals. You're right about the Saudi's being oppressive towards women but it's ludicrous to suggest anyone posting in here is in that same league just because they happen to oppose abortion or think there should be some limits on it. I understand the special circumstances like rape or when the health of the mother is in jeopardy.
