US Supreme Court strikes down Roe V. Wade
ironstone replied to West's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
But there must have been some reason that you singled out the Saudis and Iranians in order to make your point. Please tell us the connection between Republicans, Saudis, Iranians and abortion. -
It's lucrative. This organization has received over 3 million dollars in taxpayer funding in just the last 3 years.

US Supreme Court strikes down Roe V. Wade
ironstone replied to West's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Nobody favours abortion right up until birth? Not according to this. Backlash builds after Dems vote to legalize abortion up to birth (msn.com) According to the measure's text, health care providers would have been allowed to perform abortions without "a prohibition on abortion at any point or points in time prior to fetal viability" or "a requirement that a patient seeking abortion services at any point or points in time prior to fetal viability disclose the patient’s reason or reasons for seeking abortion services." There were many in the Democratic party that wanted this. Chuck Schumer wants a Senate vote on abortion up to the moment of birth | Washington Examiner Schumer is planning to bring the Women’s Health Protection Act to a vote in the Senate. The bill would eliminate nearly all restrictions on abortion, legalizing it up to the moment of birth and eliminating conscience exemptions — for example, the right of medical professionals not to kill babies. Even pro-abortion rights Sen. Susan Collins of Maine opposes the bill. West Virginia Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin isn’t on board either, and that mathematically means that it's not going to pass. Wouldn't your last sentence qualify as Islamophobia according to your own leftist standards? -

How about you? Were you one of those that favoured abortions right up to birth or partial birth ? Imprisoning and executing? Where is your evidence that anyone was going to be imprisoned and executed? Or is this your usual hyperbole? There is kind of an execution happening here though. -
Canada Must Exit Climate Agreement Immediately

It seems to be the usual stuff coming from the left. Canada is having a dramatic rise in hate crimes, more racism. Canada is rife with systemic racism blah blah blah. If Canada is really like this, could anyone explain why so many people of colour want to come and live here? Why would anyone want to live in a horrible , racist country like Canada? The same question could be applied to the US situation. Isn't this just about empowering the rapidly growing grievance industry?

US Supreme Court strikes down Roe V. Wade
ironstone replied to West's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
This is where the left wants to go. NO LIMITS on abortion. It was certainly heading in that direction. This SC decision gives the choice to states but opponents simply can't comprehend this simple fact. Videos: Democrats Saying They Support Abortions Without ANY Limits – Summit News -
Top Gun 2 Maverick FINAL EXTENDED TRAILER
ironstone replied to Great American's topic in Arts and Culture
I'm probably the only person that hasn't seen either Top Gun movie but the new one just surpassed 1 billion dollars already. How does that compare to one of the latest woke offering to moviegoers? -
Religion of Woke takes another Blow
ironstone replied to West's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
The woke agenda is finally being admitted to now but they call it by another name. Video of Biden Adviser Defending 'Liberal World Order' Viewed Over 1M Times (msn.com) They use the word liberal but it means we will keep losing freedom. Everything will keep getting more expensive. Free speech will be lost. Common sense is out the window with these bloody woke zealots. -

I would say they're both fanatical and woke. Do you think their acts of vandalism are funny? -
Religion of Woke takes another Blow

Maybe it's more about the EPA having too much power? The only huge projects that are pretty much guaranteed to be built these days are mostly useless things like wind and solar farms. -

And now the left is already reacting in their usual way. No surprise here, and there will be no condemnation or criminal charges either. Climate activists slash dozens of SUV tires in NYC, say 'major cities' across US to be hit next | Fox News -
Trump going to jail... "so unfair"!
ironstone replied to godzilla's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Meanwhile we get a glimpse of Democratic fundraising strategy and some thinly veiled threats. Ok not veiled at all. And the Dems want Trump in jail? -
Interesting video on gun myths. Please note what the jailbirds say.

US Supreme Court strikes down Roe V. Wade
ironstone replied to West's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
You don't see the irony of people having to move because of bad policies they supported in their blue state? Making it unaffordable and then spreading the misery by voting for progressives again in the red state? Ok got it.? -
US Supreme Court strikes down Roe V. Wade
ironstone replied to West's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
For anyone and everyone that is upset about Roe v Wade being overturned, what were you content with? Even in California there were some limitations for abortions. Were any limits reasonable to you? First trimester? Second? Did you want the limit right up to the moment of birth? Or perhaps even beyond that? I ask this question because many opponents of this recent decision are making very strong claims like the US is going back to the dark ages and so on. It seems there are more restrictions on abortion in Europe as compared to the US yet it doesn't seem to be as contentious an issue over there. -

That's pretty vague. Do you suppose those "economic reasons" have anything to do with Democratic policies? -

If it's all about rights, can you explain why so many people are moving out of blue states? Going to red states in fact. I would concede that it's not necessarily a good thing because these people are fleeing to get away from the bad policies they supported and will likely continue to support in red states. They can't connect the dots. Americans Fled Blue States for Red States in Massive Numbers in 2021, Census Finds (freebeacon.com) -
I had mixed feelings about the convoy. They have every right to protest and I am somewhat sympathetic to what they were protesting about. I did not like them blockading roads or honking horns all through the night. The MSM went out of their way to demonize them in every way and most of them were indeed peaceful. Peaceful protest? Yes absolutely. Don't blockade or use violence. And violence and disruptive blockades are used way more often by those on the left. Below is an example of a peaceful protest that sends a really mixed message.

I only heard about this case recently and I haven't read anything that indicated he was forcing anyone to pray with him. And no, I don't think anyone should be forced to pray by another. Starting in 2008, Kennedy began kneeling on the school football field after games and engaging in brief prayer. Eventually, many of his players joined him, as did members of opposing teams. This continued without formal complaint for seven years until the school told Kennedy to stop.

Ontario needs to invest in EVs as a realistic Option.
ironstone replied to Boges's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Not that one, this one. He's not really anti EV but he points out a lot of interesting things and basically that we're concentrating on the wrong target.
