  1. The migrant invasion of Europe has nothing to do with climate change... In this case among many others they are economic migrants looking for better jobs, but they won't find any. Neither will they qualify as refugees so will likely be sent packing.. There are not enough jobs or money for countries to support them. If Europe doesn't grow a spine, it will no longer exist as we know it in about 10 - 15 years. http://www.theguardian.com/global-development/2016/may/06/gambian-migrants-who-risk-death-find-life-less-than-sweet-in-italy
  2. Exactly. One wonders if they are actually stating their inner feelings while imputing them (feelings) onto others.
  3. Don't be silly... it's in the rules so they would have to hold a convention to change the rules. She will stick to her promise, anything said on here is strictly speculation and innuendo. Neither is there any 'infighting', more innuendo and speculation.
  4. Seriously, Liberals spent money at a posh retreat for 'Deliverology' guru schooling

^this kind of complex work can only be accomplished in expensive resorts, of course.

Nice partisan slick spin there. Of course it had to be an expensive retreat..

  5. Food bank workers say an influx of Syrian refugees is straining their resources, because taxpayer support for the new arrivals isn’t sufficient. Whoda thunk it, from a rushed poorly thought out plan to make the Liberals look good.

Did you expect anything beyond complete dishonesty? Right wing posters on this forum have jumped the shark. They get more ridiculous every single day.

  8. Conrad Black: He (Mulcair) should follow the path of Bob Rae and return to the Liberals. Let the Naomi Klein eco-Marxists have the NDP so they may learn how overwhelming defeat really tastes

I marvel at Blacks ability to stimulate a visceral reaction with the mere mention of his name. He is the human equivalent of Pavlovs Dog to Liberals.

  9. Premier Wynne says the wait list for gender reassignment surgery is of concern, yet defunds intensive therapies for autistic kids aged five and over.

Well of course! Duh! Why would you think this was the wrong thing to do? Trasngendered people are very fashionable among the left today. Autistic kids, not so much.

Apparently so!! $8,000 payment for those affected will hardly pay for a month's therapy etc. 3 year wait lists ensure that they will not get therapy when needed.

Just to maintain some continuity in the heriditary system of government in Canada, the next election should include Avi Lewis and Ben Mulroney as leaders for the NDP and Cons. Both white men, but Mulroney gets the nod as next PM because he is telegenic, has good to great hair, and is from Montreal.

  12. I'm not cool with someone believing that a fetus does not deserve to be born because it's female. What kind of people are so dismissive and misogynist that they would abort because they give so little value to women whom they obviously hold in very low regard.

Correction: John McCallum said Tuesday that Canada is at 'maximum capacity' in it's efforts to accept immigrants into the country, saying that the government is only capable of welcoming 300,000 immigrants in 206, but plans to boost that number in the future. Canada will see a dramatic boost in the number of refugees it plans to resettle this year

  15. Okay, thanks... Turner says it's not so, deposits would be excluded from the bail-in regime. http://www.greaterfool.ca/2016/03/25/merchants-of-fear Also this from 2013 saying it would not cover deposits. Let's hope when the Liberal legislation comes about it will be clear on that issue. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/ottawa-clears-up-confusion-over-bank-bail-in/article10697667/

I think there's a lot of programs that government shouldn't do. The difference between you and me is that I understand that I am one voice, and I'm able to understand where other people are coming from. It's not just my government.

  18. Anyone have any additional info on allowing banks to take our deposits for bail ins, in the budget. http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-03-22/its-official-canadian-bank-depositors-are-now-risk-bail-ins I went to the source document and found that it is quoted exactly from the budget. Unfortunately there are no further details to be had. My understanding was that deposits above the amount insured by cdic have always been at risk. One interpretation of this is that the government will allow a percentage of your deposits to be taken to recapitalize the bank rather than having it fail altogether. We'll have to wait for implementing legislation for further details. Browsing through the Liberal budget was a stomach churning experience.
  19. Did you know that Belgium produces more jihadis, relative to its population, than any other country in western Europe. Poor integration, political instability and growing evidence of extremism mean the Brussels attacks come as little surprise http://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/mar/22/why-was-belgium-targeted-by-bombers

  21. "she' doesn't appreciate having words put in her mouth.. How about addressing the issue and not the poster or imputing words not said. When Trudeau said the structure of the Senate was fine, we just needed 'better' Senators, what he meant was, 'Liberal' Senators. Peter Harder will be the gov’t rep. in the Senate so don’t know why they would say he is going to be an independant as clearly he is a partisan liberal. The process was also not open and transparent at all, it was still a secret short list from a Liberal picked committee. More to come soon of course.
  22. I don't know about that but it could be so of any defined pension plan. Actually MPs pay quite a bit into their plan now as it's 50/50. Their contributions have risen from around $111,000 a year to around $39,000 a year. OAS comes out of general revenues, there is no separate fund coming out of people's pockets. Trudeau will leave a huge debt for the young generation who will have to pay mega bucks for this as it’s costs are expected to double over the next 15 years and keep on growing.
