  1. Too bad they would rather off the vulnerable then doing anything to improve their life, liberty and security.
  2. Was Harper on any of the committees or reports attributed to him? Too bad conservatives are a little more conservative when it comes to offing the vulnerable. Better get working on those boutiques.
  3. The assisted dying report which the lawyer says goes beyond scope and ignores evidence
  4. Why do liberals insist on offing vulnerable people.
  5. Since I’m not a lawyer so can’t give legal opinions, here are the thoughts of a constitutional lawyer who intervened before the S.C. of Canada in the "Carter" case on PAS . I agree with his legal opinion: that the Trudeau report on PAS ignores much evidence and proposes the lowest safeguards in the world, leaving the most vulnerable Canadians - entirely vulnerable under a Liberal PAS regime. We should be demanding a more stringent regime for PAS that will protect protect these vulnerable Canadians. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/assisted-dying-report-goes-beyond-scope-ignores-evidence/article28939386/
  6. Maybe there’s enough support out there for starting up a chain of franchise euthanasia boutiques; one in every shopping centre. We could have a whole menu of things to choose from for your final check-out: music, flowers, a “grad” party, legal help for wills and things, handholding, people’s pets, post-departure arrangements for the remains, you name it. For an example, watch that old cult classic, Soylent Green (Charleton Heston, Edward G. Robinson).
  7. Liberal fiscal plans less transparent than under Harper, says Kevin Page

LOL sure, he's not good at it when he's criticizing the liberals.

  8. Hold your horses…This so called free tuition from Liberal Ontario isn’t actually free. What the gov’t is doing is selling tuition-sized grants to low-income students—for a sticker price of $3,000 and – cancelling the tuition credits.

    1. The_Squid

      The_Squid

how do you sell a grant?

The Ontario Liberals would find a way! Lol.

  9. The Council of Canadians has given their opinion on the Liberal report on physician-assisted suicide. Of note, is its assessment which demonstrates where the PMO's thinking on the topic of PAS departs from the Supreme Court's "Carter" decision creating the right to doctor-assisted suicide. http://www.ccdonline.ca/en/humanrights/endoflife/SJCPAD-25feb2016
  10. Is the media catching on as CBC opines that the Liberals are sunny on the surface- much fudgier underneath

Weren't people complaining about nannies and construction on 24 Sussex and blowing through the "surplus"? It's funny how I can find all sorts of criticism of Trudeau in the news, but forum conservatives can't.

It is enjoyable when people self identify as communists but pretend they can somehow be the arbiter of liberal bias.

  11. Not a lie according to the PBO report last year which projected a small surplus.
  12. Liberals launch the 'not-our-fault' defence as deficit forecast balloons to $18.4 billion Andrew Coyne says: But the issue is not why the deficit is now $18 billion, but why the Liberal government proposes to push it to $30 billion and Kevin Page says Liberals need to explain $40B 'adjustment' http://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/kevin-page-liberals-need-to-explain-40b-adjustment-1.2788678?hootPostID=248ed74dfbe7d9b4fcdf9899054cfec8
  13. The EU has made some slight concessions but not enough IMO to alleviate the U.K. problems. The EU is far too dogmatic and blinkered as the migrant crisis has shown, not to mention it's lack of ability to manage it properly. Cameron did not get the changes he wanted which could be a real problem for some voters but others are downplaying the economic risks to leaving. There's also talk about reinstating passport requirements to cross borders which could see the collapse of the Schengen Agreement, thus increasing costs for goods etc.
  14. Trudeau’s proposed imposition of a $15-a-tonne nat'l carbon price won’t reduce or effect emissions but will surely affect our wallets This is nothing more than a cash grab.

Maybe, and no doubt if he did it's because he really believed it would make all the difference in the world! Reducing our 2 percent emissions by a fraction of a fraction. The liberals are pandering to people who believe that stupidity, that same dummies that elected them.

    3. poochy

      poochy

So, can anyone tell us what fraction of our fraction this will reduce emissions by and what real world positive effects it will have? Let me guess, it's about being a leader, cuz surely if Canada does it others will follow...i cant imagine what it must be like to believe that ideological tripe.

My my you are smarting about the loss. Anyway, check how well the carbon tax is working in BC before you jump to yet another conclusion.

  15. The date for the UK referendum on leaving the EU has been set for June, 2016. IMO Britain will not get the reforms they want if they stay which will see the end of the U.K. in the not too far distant future. I'm not clear on what it could mean for the U.K. economically so which is the lesser of the two evils. From what I've read I would vote to leave unless they agree to serious reforms first. I'm going out on a limb here to predict that the vote to leave the EU will win. http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/E/EU_BRITAIN_EUROPE?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT Cameron said if Britons decided to remain in the EU, he would seek continued reforms to address their concerns about job losses and benefit payments to EU migrants seeking work in Britain.
  16. Austria is now capping it's intake at 80 per day in defiance of EU. I'm surprised that this has taken so long. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/austria/12165651/Austria-caps-refugee-intake-at-80-per-day-in-defiance-of-EU.html Meanwhile as France moves to take down the jungle camp of Calais there's a possibility that the migrants are setting their sights on the port of Zeebrugge as a means of getting into the U.K. via the ferry to Hull. ( lucky Hull) where another dangerous jungle camp could spring up. Calais is dangerous as migrants assault lorrys and even a school bus which has me wondering why France et al countries do not defy the EU. http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/645699/Zeebrugge-migrants-Belgium-Calais-France-Britain
  17. True but the consequences of such an an ill thought out major policy could be devastating for Canada. Granted we are not taking in millions of male migrants but bringing in that many people who are so opposed generally to our ways especially when it comes to women, can only result in problems. Problems mainly because a Liberal gov't would not stand up to demands for changes which will come. Bear in mind that Ontario allready recognizes polygamous marriages from outside of Canada so pays welfare to multiple 'wives'. As the demographics change so will demands for accommodation increase. http://cnews.canoe.com/CNEWS/Canada/2008/02/08/4834833-sun.html Also keep in mind what is happening in Europe http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/644315/Sweden-migrant-crisis-refugee-asylum-seekers-Alexandra-Mezher-breaking-point
  18. It’s a giant screw up, rushed with little thought about the consequences. Support services are inadequate, insufficient resources, 16 month wait for federally funded language and of course no jobs. This is just the beginning, wait until they’ve brought in 50K refugees. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/syrian-refugees-feel-trapped-1.3453830
  19. Not sure you do either... carry on
  20. In your opinion..
  21. and then some... however, the decision to whip the vote may have been 'premature'... hmmm
  22. Our parliament and legislatures cannot pass legislation that will allow euthanasia of vulnerable and disabled people as well as those who do not wish to have a physician assisted death. It decriminalized death by doctor for those with “grievous and irremediable” medical condition (an illness, disease or disability) that causes enduring suffering that is intolerable to the individual who must be a competent, consenting adult. The decision leaves it up to the legislature and healthcare regulators to decide whether health care institutions must provide assisted dying by doctor.
  23. True. Health care which includes access to medications, emergency dental care and vision care none of which is available to low income Canadians without a benefit plan. Meanwhile, in Finland many are returning due to homesickness and lack of jobs.
  24. Right on, as I said earlier, Trudeau voted for this motion just over 7 months ago and now – he's whipping vote on Assisted Suicide. I don't think we've seen anything yet, the 'best' is yet to come.
  25. The S.C. ruling was specific in that it only lifted the ban on doctor-assisted suicide .It gave parliament a year to prepare wording that would allow the change for a select few in very limited circumstances while still protecting the rights of vulnerable people and those who desire to live to the end of their natural lives. Parliament, not the SCC, will amend our laws. http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/supreme-court-says-yes-to-doctor-assisted-suicide-in-specific-cases-1.2947487
