  1. I`m not `threatened by foreigners` so please don`t impute feelings or attitudes onto me. Germany has voted to block N. African assylum claims http://www.thelocal.de/20160513/german-mps-vote-to-block-north-african-asylum-claims
  2. Laureen Harper did not have nannies and they did hire babysitters when needed.
  3. Huh... no, but she should've known better than to whine publicly, I guess she didn't think about how bad the optics and offensive her comments are to working mothers everywhere. As NDP MP Niki Ashton told the media: "hearing statements like that certainly doesn't speak to the reality that Canadian women face and the kind of struggles that, you know, that they're undertaking day in, day out."
  4. She should've thought about that one before whining publicly about her 'needs'.
  5. If you believe that I can sell you some swampland...
  6. Indeed.. in fact I hear that Trudeau has announced the Liberal Government will match all donations to the Sophie Disaster.
  7. Canada doesn't need that position, it's not necessary for us to have an institutionalized position as in the U.S. We have the GG's wife for that anyway, IMO this is just Ms. Trudeau being a diva and promoting herself, she seems to be somewhat Kardashian like...
  8. Cripes.. and then some... they hounded conservative MPs over glasses of O.J. but it's okay to finance our Trudeau-Kardashians. The Harper's did not have even one nanny, they paid for baby sitters when needed, and even paid for their own groceries. Mrs. Harper did do a lot of charity work but didn't advertise it... I'm pretty sure her complaint came after the White House visit.
  9. Well, singing off key at an MLK function was pretty bizarre, it would've been bizarre even if she sang on key... then there's that really bizarre fake infomercial she did .. now that would curdle the stomach of anyone. I guess after returning from the dinner with the Obamas, she feels she's entitled to the same privileges a U.S. first lady..
  10. This isn't the U.S., we do not have an official role for the PM's wife. Besides, she's allready farmed out the kids so I guess it's all that cleaning, laundry and yard work that's getting in the way of expanding her 'celebrity status'.
  11. It implies being more fair which this is not. The CPC did not propose major changes to our system that would fundamentally alter our Parliamentary system, there is no comparison. A referenda would work very well, this is exactly the type of situation that requires one, after extensive public meetings and consultations with all parties, just as the provinces did. Not to mention that Elections Canada needs two years to implement such a major change so it's not possible for this gov't to carry out necessary and fair cross country consultations in time for E.C.
  12. The hypocrisy is coming from a leader/party who promised to be more open, fair etc. etc., who promised to do things differently. This is not doing things differently, it's more of the same Liberal double standards. They deride a system which they claim is illegitimate so must be done away with, yet they use the same system to rig another one in their favour. "If the Liberals want to demonstrate a real respect for the electorate, they should follow the B.C. and Ontario models, and hold lengthy, bipartisan consultations followed by a referendum." http://www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/editorials/dear-mr-trudeau-why-are-you-blowing-up-our-voting-system-on-a-whim-and-a-hurry-up-timetable/article30003218/
  13. More than 800 have just arrived in Italy, on only 2 boats, http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/669834/Migrant-crisis-continues-hundreds-refugees-just-two-boats-land-Italy-in-one-day
  14. Muslims are the 'new Catholics' when it comes to large families, in Canada RCs have fewer babies than other religions. According to the Vatican, Islam has overtaken RC as the biggest single religious denomination in the world and according to Wikki is the fastest growing religion in the world .
  15. The evidence which illustrates the illusion of the Liberals "putting partisanship aside" came in the House of Commons, where Elizabeth May asked PM Trudeau if he was going to whip the members of the committee to vote a Liberal party line. Trudeau's response: "I can assure the Leader of the Green Party that I will no more control the Liberal members on that committee than she will control the Green member on that committee." If they were truly committed to a fair and open process they would not keep a Liberal dominated committee… They stacked the committee using the same system which allows that, but a system they say they now view as illegitimate.
  16. Argus is right, all you have to do is read about what is happening in Britain... there's an article here worth reading, he was fired for his views but he got it right. http://www.spectator.co.uk/2014/07/the-bradford-head-teacher-who-got-it-right-on-islam-and-education/
  17. Macedonia has used tear gas and rubber bullets. My guess is if it continues they won't be using rubber bullets,
  18. Now that's telling it like it is...
  19. Not sure about that but the privately sponsored refugees are doing better than gov't sponsored, usually. This is one about a privately sponsored refugee family which surprises me, the sponsor warned them they couldn't financially support her. Okay, the sponsor is now unemployed so his status changed, the sponsors now need the food bank too. The gov't really needs to rethink bringing in thousands more until the current groups is settled and working. Not to mention housing is a problem now, not just for refugees but for all people looking for cheaper accommodation in a big city. There just isn't any left... http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/syrian-refugees-food-banks-1.3562887 "When we come here, we didn't expect we get any kind of help, and, unfortunately, that was the ugly truth," she said. "So, we are alone, and we struggle still." Demand for food banks increasing Asoyan's family is among the increasing number of Syrian refugees seeking help at the Scott Mission and other food banks across the country.
  20. I'm not telling you anything other than what has been said about the migrant invaders. True Europe is not prepared to take in millions of migrants and recent events from the Euro news tells us that women are not prepared in particular. I'm not prepared to dress more modestly so as not to upset someone from another culture... as a woman I am certainly not prepared to accept much of what has been happening in Europe. If it takes warships etc., so be it.
  21. Guess you missed them... unless you think we are just sitting here making this up...
  22. No more or less than some people think they are. The migrants from Africa are not refugees, the EU VP confirmed it saying the majority are economic 'refugees' and have no reason whatsoever to request refugee status. They are also taking up resources which could be used for the genuine refugees.
  23. Not personally but the news report obviously had the info.
  24. Really... Ever since I can remember there has been drought, famine and starvation in Africa, nothing to do with climate change. But that might sound Martian to you too...
