  1. What's your point, this is about a supposed non partisan open selection process promised by the Liberals - it ain't any of that.
  2. They are all Liberal supporters or anti conservative writers except for the athlete. Larkin was an NDP cabinet minister but has more recently worked with Ontario's Liberals. They might be 'independents' but they are selected via a committee appointed by Liberals so there is no doubt in my mind who they will side with when it comes to voting. They are no more 'non partisan' than Harper's where, this is simply a pretense. How can Larkin who an NDP member accept the position when her party wants to abolish the Senate.
  3. So the gov’t is offering 1.25 million for 7500 refurbished computers, CIBC is offering low interest loans, CN is providing free transportation for the computers, FB offering free Arabic program and Microsoft offering free hardware. What is anybody offering seniors, homeless, vets, or the 86,000 unemployed oil workers in Alberta?

I would expect everyone to get what they were promised in the platform, generally.

Conservatives don't wear sack cloth and ashes while whining about the poor.

  4. Yup.. he has no right whatsoever joining any organization
  5. Not just currency but they lost control of their borders. Campbell doesn't want out, he's for staying put but people want more control over their borders (and welfare benefits) so they can control immigration.
  6. Good for him, he will need another job eventually.
  7. I notice that the Liberals major big time bagman Stephen Bronfman is part of Trudeau’s Liberal entourage at the U.S. State dinner but not reported (that I see) by the media Funny eh…. Maybe when he puts his fork down he’ll help those Canadian hostages.

What should he personally do to help the hostages? You haven't answered the question - should he have declined the presidents invitation?

I remember Trudeau’s faux concern about Fahmy, I guess these Canadians will be ignored.. we’ll see

What should Trudeau do about the hostage situation?

  9. I don't believe there's a consensus on the net drain overall but they are a net drain for the first 10 years at least. Considering the billions allready spent out of country and the the projected billions for refugees, it doesn't make sense to add more financial burdens to the country. Canada's jobless rate went up to 7.2 percent in January so it seems to me we should only be bringing in people with skill sets matching Canadian job requirements. Alberta in January was 7.4%, maybe they are looking for unskilled workers but how many will go to Alberta? It will of course increase the number of Liberal voters
  10. The Liberals are planning for huge influx of refugees, immigrant spouses at the expense of a reduction in skilled economic immigrants - not a reasonable plan as cutting skilled workers crazy. Bringing in large numbers of people who will likely be dependants and unskilled will not help our economy at all. How are they going to pay for this as we know that the Liberals are not straight with us about cost of setting refugees http://news.nationalpost.com/news/world/liberal-government-is-planning-to-bring-in-a-record-of-more-than-305000-new-permanent-residents-in-2016
  11. It was Bill 62 - proposed hate legislation. Don't know if it passed or not.

So you'll be okay with Trudeau adding $128.5B to the deficit, as long as the debt to GDP ends up lower?

  13. Too funny – I couldn’t make this up if I tried: Federal proposals on how to make the government more open are being kept secret.

It says the memos have to be kept confidential because of current Cabinet rules...do you expect them to break the rules while they're in place?

    4. scribblet

      scribblet

'roll eyes' sure, same reasons Harper had to keep stuff confidential, but then, it's only okay if it's Liberals.

  14. So I guess we just make assisted suicide or euthanasia a public service. Well, that aughta help reduce the over population.
  15. Not according to the lawyer.. are you a lawyer? Someone on my F/B page wrote this, I concur. http://www.parl.gc.ca/HousePublications/Publication.aspx?Language=e&Mode=1&Parl=42&Ses=1&DocId=8120006 Please read fully the Liberal report on physician-assisted suicide noting that this might affect you one day. There’s a link to a pdf of the published report. 1. The dissenting report by Conservative MPs, appended at the end of the report layus out some critical safeguards missing from the Liberal report. 2. The NDP’s supplementary opinion however is petty and partisan as they attempt to milk a sensitive topic for political gain on PAS. Sad. 3. For the record, the bi-partisan effort on a pan-Canadian palliative care strategy began with Harold Albrecht (C-Kitchener-Conestoga) and Joe Comartin, not Charlie Angus. The NDP report, if it wanted to go down the smarmy road of taking credit should have recognized, in honourable fashion, the true pioneers on the issue. 4. Most Canadians, when thinking about PAS, automatically assume it is for the terminally ill. Yet the PAS strategy at the heart of the Liberal report is no guarantee that such a regime would be primarily, if not exclusively, for those with terminal illness with intolerable suffering. How is it, then, physician-assisted dying if it doesn't have to include those certain to die? Contact Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and your MP and urge they create and adopt a regime on PAS that has stringent safeguards against abuse and that protect conscientious objection for medical professionals and institutions.
  16. I believe it should be available to adults who are terminally ill. I believe the proposed legislation is too broad, as per the link I posted from a lawyer and from a disabilities organization.
  17. Sure, why not then they can be sold in the 'euthanasia boutiques'. Would the prescription require only one doctor's signature or a panel of doctors? Would you sell them to 'mature minors' http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/doctor-assisted-death-minors-1.3466769
  18. Sure, if someone actually said that, which is different from arguing that the Liberals are going to allow vulnerable people to be offed, preferably by a physician.
  19. Liberals spend $3.5M in government advertising in first 4 months

  20. "Sunny ways" come to an end as Liberals launch vicious attack ad against successful Canadian businessman. http://www.winnipegsun.com/2016/02/27/liberals-attack-oleary

True. His little "million dollar" comment put him into the same vein as Trump's type of bombast. Just with some adjustment for the looney. (I mean the currency not the speaker)

  21. Okay, but they have to ask nicely -
  22. Totally agree... off with the heads of those who don't want to be offed if they are using too much health care..
